Not nearly as cool as you!! A one handed pit bike jump!! Be careful. I would never do such a thing!! Thanks for watching and the sub!.......or have you? Check out: amzn.to/47Lokwr
LEGEND! Frustrated as hell that I bought an unkillable crf50 only for the carb to be knackered. Took to a specialist and was told it was a no go. Watched your video and realised everyone so far has been trying to tune it with the choke wide open! 🙈 Runs like a dream now 😂

When my bike was parked, it would leak gas out of that bottom nipple. It would leave a little puddle under the bike. I took the carb apart and it looked pretty spotless. I watched your video and when you mentioned a grain of salt wouldn't allow the float needle to close all the way, I decided to spray carb cleaner in the seat. A few pieces of rubber flew out of the port when I sprayed in the seat. Put the carb back together and wallah, she doesn't leak anymore. Just wanted to say thanks for the info, your video is very helpful.
Thanks Allen. We have more CRF videos coming soon. Make sure you hit that subscribe button so you are notified when they are posted. Thanks for watching!
Interesting. I’ll shoot a video on the newer models. Although, I have been through tons, I haven’t noticed a difference that I can remember. Thanks for the comment! Great video but I still can’t get my pilot jet out. I’ve tried pliers and have scratched the jet up a bit already. I don’t want to smash it but want to get it out because I can see gunk inside of it. Any ideas? I’ve got a 2002 carb and xr50 btw. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Tough deal. I’ve heard they can be a bear. I’d be happy to take a look. Thanks for watching and the comment. Let me know if you need anything. www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports
Thank you so much! I pulled out my pilot jet or slow jet and it was completely clogged. I tried reaming it with very small gauge wire but got nowhere. I ended up using a blowtorch tip cleaning bit (the very smallest one) and had to twist and twist from both ends to get the clog to open. Now I can see daylight through the tube. I'll report back on how the bike runs once I get it back together. Thanks again!
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports I got the bike running! It will start without the choke now and idles perfectly. Without your tutelage, this 2017 CRF50F would be hard to ride for my 6 and 8 year old. My family owes you a big thanks! Subscribed!
I do believe the one you are talking about is a vent tube and will just go down. Thanks for watching. Let us know if there is anything else you need! www.midnebraskamotorsports.com/
That clip that holds the needle in place there is a place where it seats on a ridge should it be past that ridge? and should the needle move up and down or have no play?
My pilot jet broke off right at the bottom (or top depending on how you look at it) and I cant get it out to replace it. Would it be wise to drill it out or am I now in the market for a new carb? I was going to clean and do a rebuild kit on it, had that ethanol gas sitting in it a little too long and it gummed it all up but now I have this problem.
Shoot. Sorry about your luck. Yea, you'd be hard pressed to get it drilled out and tapped out without damaging more of the carb. Sounds like it's time for a new carb!! Maybe an upgraded one! Steady hand with not to much pressure. I have another crf50 carb video that might give you more detail. Make sure to check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WFgmnZaT2CE.html
Yes, same thing!!! Thanks for the question! Hit the subscribe button as we have a lot more videos coming out on this machine. Also, check us out at www.midnebraskamotorsports.com/
Float sticking possibly. Otherwise is your air filter clean?? That can cause the fuel to be sucking back into the air box. Other thing would be valves. More than likely it’s going to float needle tho!!
Hopefully you found this video helpful!! Get it running good? Thanks for watching. I have a bunch more Honda 50 videos coming out. Hit the subscribe button so you get notified!!
This was an 05 honda. Yea, same carb! Thanks for watching. I have a bunch more Honda crf videos coming out. Hit the subscribe button so you get notified!!
My slide & needle won't slide in or out that easy...... Is it greased or need grease? Also, after getting back together, the throttle won't retract.... & I've tried it all the way down, just barely in... Throttle works fine all the way off the carb..., until i thread it to the top...
78raarons, did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem. The throttle cylinder that houses the needle wont slide down (retract as you say) which makes the throttle cable same too long when you hook it back up. It actually is the travel inside the carb that is messed up. I'm thinking that I smashed the pilot jet when I tried to remove it. I could not get mine to come out and think I may have tried a little too hard to do so. I'm looking for a replacement 35x35 needle valve to try and see if this remedy's my problem. I haven't been back in my garage yet to even see if this theory makes sense. Would love to hear how you solved your issue or have Mid Nebraska Motorsports weigh in here. Thanks!
Check your plug but it might be good to go up 1 size. Thanks for watching. I have a bunch more Honda videos coming out. Hit the subscribe button so you get notified!!
Just leave the pilot jet in place and clean it with the carb cleaner. Please don't take it out Then BEAT on it like this idiot did while putting it back in.
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports Ha, I Do Have a Clue.... OK, So it is nice of you to make videos and help the less informed.... HOWEVER, Pease Do Not foster bad habits by beating on the jets. As you have mentioned they are quite soft...Treating the jet like you did could cause it to flow less fuel than the manufacturer has Finely machined it to.... That Causes Problems!! Please Do Not Create problems for your followers. Please Be Gentle to Carburetors... OK :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-akdHwiVF87s.html
@@crazybob1954mo , Not trying to add fuel to the flame here. Just trying to figure out what to do next. I believe I damaged my pilot jet trying to take it out. "smashed" shut is my theory. Know where I can get a new pilot jet? Or purchase new carb? If so, where do you recommend purchasing a reliable carb from. I know OEM is high dollar but also don't want generic crap.
@@bbtalber The pilot jet is not a consumer replaceable part. It is a part of the carb body installed by the manufacturer. Consider buying a used carb. The service manual indicates the pilot jet size to be a #35. A #35 jet is equivalent to to .0138" , You could buy a #80 drill bit which is .0135" in diameter. You could then drill out your damaged jet with the #80 drill bit. OR You can search after market CRF50 performance companies and buy an after market carburetor similar to the one in the link I supplied below... OR you could ask the stupid idiot who Instructed you to remove the pilot jet where You can get a replacement....

My son has an 03 xr50r and I can't get flow through the pilot jet. Tried everything, clean, comp air, jet cleaners. Im stumped. Is there a part # for the 35 x 35 pilot jet you mentioned? I've serched for 2 weeks and no luck. Thanks
The one thing u didn't bother to explain is now the only problem I have. This is the problem with people who can't teach that make videos. U take something easy to you and assume everyone will just understand when you "check this" but check for what?! Now I gotta go find another video just for this one fkn step u didn't bother to do.
