I have used both ,, Wheels (more easy to maneuver faster in transit from site to site.) Tracked , "Can be set in digger mode to force the scraper bar to scrape down to the surface ,, if you deal with trying to remove heavy packed down dense snow like the stuff pushed off a roof its astounding how much more tractive force the tracks can achieve .Tracked is slow when moving from site to site but it will crawl over stuff that will leave you wrestling with wheeled machine to get it unstuck.
Wheel vs Tracks - each have their place. I had a wheeled blower but living in a northern snow belt with snow from November to May, it doesn't handle heavy accumulations and inclines well. The tracked blower cannot be stopped by terrain, and the HSS1332 has handle mounted steering so thats a must. The only way I'd get rid of my 1332 is for a 1336.
Great comparison. Looked like the wheeled version almost wanted to go too fast. I think a good system of dropping the speed just prior to turning and it would be super smooth to operate. Well done and that was super funny blasting the snow around at the camera. It happens lol
I just bought a 2022/23 Ariens Platinum 24 SHO (wheeled, w/ the 369cc engine) and I'm looking forward to next year. It should kick the crap outta my now-retiring 1980 ST824. That said, DANG, those Hondas have throw distance like nothing else. Impressive!
@@appleztooranges It wasn't too bad, but there WAS a 3-day stretch by me last December, where the cold + snow + high winds damned near put me in the ground! Cheers.
For that amount of snow the wheeled unit did the job just fine. For 2 feet of snow, the tracks would be better. If I could pick, I'd take wheels over tracks, unless I was on unpaved, steep surfaces
It’s hard to tell with only 6” of snow. I wish we got more. These last few years we haven’t gotten much snow at all. I’m sad not much winters anymore. Hopefully it’s just jet streams and we will get tons more
Tracks save your back when the going gets rough. It will stay down and eat straight through the heavy slough from the road and wind packed drifts that will stop a wheeled machine or cause it to climb the snow.
That is a good point. I was just coming out the garage so this was easiest for me. My neighbor on the left is too close to me so I can’t throw it that way. It be all in her driveway. So can only shoot it to the right. Thanks for watching
2 things about your hounda hss928. You need to re jet the carburetor for maximum power. Also your shute have that calor, it will plug with the wet snow call honda and they will send you a new one for free.
What are you talking about the Shute with the collar, please explain? How have you know that Honda USA will send a new Shute without the collar for free replacement? Do they ship it for free? Thanks
@@rottiejakeluke honda dealer have sent me shure replacement for my snowblower for free. Honda hss models from 2015 to 2019 were made with that collar, that makes snowblower to plug in wet snow.
I have a cub 3x 26 do a lot of yards I love it by me cuz I have alot of deep snow. I plow thew it in 6th gear almost up to bucket hight Anyways I was looking at the honda weeled 28" then the 32 trac, I want to like the trac but just can't, all the quick moving around. How do u like the weeled model model? But I'm also looking at the cub cadet 3x 30" pro. Or the 34pro. Idk what u think of that honda
@@appleztooranges Pray for what most people call a bad March. There is still hope for a big snowstorm. Look into a smaller electric snowblower. If I had money I would buy one. Still can't afford a big Honda, but someday.
I'll take the 32 hands down and now that Honda is completely out of the game permently and the potential gas power eqt ban on new eqt and zero by 2028 EVs suck as do elec eqt can use yours till it dies and then elec My ass i'll rebuild it that ban bullshit won't stop me ha ha run baby run purr baby purr i love the smell of ethynol free and diesel in the morning and race fu on the track don't you
