'Would you spend £145k on a Honda?': Yes, in a flash if I had it. A supercar that looks great, drives great, and won't spend most of its time broken down in the garage. What's not to love?
I mean even for the unbelievable performance, drivetrain quality and price tag, Honda is not a premium brand after all (altho it’s sold under the Acura brand in the States - it’s not premium enough) well I guess it’s THE NSX after all...
The reason it’s a Honda is exactly why I would spend money on, so I can be sure that I won’t have to constantly repair it after a year, unlike some other brands
@@putevasiliauskas7035 how can it be the most overrated when it's not overrated at all ? 🧐 It's probably not selling on the highest numbers meaning this car will be worth alot of money one day. It's just not in our price class 🤣. .. I was kinda hoping to buy a new NSX and I was dissapointed .. the previous NSX was expencive but affordable if you wanted to starve your kids. For it. But Honda took it to Porsche 911 level .. Wich kinda made it so expencive 🥺 the technology inside is amazing. But with all of that comes at a price I would never be able to afford to buy and maintain.
Pute Vasiliauskas overpriced, maybe. Overrated, no. a used NSX right now in Germany cost around 130k, which is 911 991.2 turbo S money or AMG GT R. Would you see 911 or AMG GT once in a week? It‘s more than possible. Would you see one 2017 NSX on the road in a year? I don’t think so. Moreover NSX is now discontinued, means it has chance for rapid price hike in future. And regarding hybrid powertrain with 3 electric motors, it is a brilliant piece of work, this combination is more advanced than the system that you would find in Porsche 918. yes Porsche 918 is by several years older than NSX, and yes 918 is faster to hit 60 mph (2,6s vs 2,9s by NSX); yet a Porsche 918 has 4,6L V8 Engine and the Price for used one is around 1M. So, 130k for a used NSX, a car which will hit 60 mph under 3 seconds, and has a unique hybrid engine is not a high price to pay. The bonus: it is discontinued and you‘d find no other NSX in your neighborhood (if not country).
There is no such thing as "instant torque", electric engines simply have a lower full-efficiency RPM bound of 0, but seeing as he wasn't even in 0 RPM you can get the same effect with a sufficiently powerful conventional engine as well.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B6AjNOJomfE.html But it come with standard side mirrors how childish are the engineer designers. . I want my model to be mirrorless and to be fearless. BTW I can' beat his 60 mps. 🙏😲😢
I love this car - I’ve only seen a handful on the roads but R8’d are common as muck (because they are great, no doubting that). But I love the rarity and quirkiness off the NSX, it also looks fantastic.
why are people talking about honda like its a bad car company? its a legendary company who has produced amazing race cars.. I would take this over a 911 this is such a special and cool looking car!
Noah Cremers You see one everyday because the intelligent people with money knows what to buy. You better never buy one so there is one less idiot with a powerful car
That flap on the side is to put in a detachable dual cup holder. Those two areas in the center are not meant for drinks, rather they are meant for additional storage. Good review as always.
My imported S660 is Honda number 15 for me. One day I'll have an NSX. Had a Beat for 12 years. Super reviews. This car is awesome. Have seen a few in the flesh. Head turner for sure.

@@Skylda well all western supercar cars are unreliable compared to Honda. So unless you have money to blow, $150k is just the start. The NSX is reachable for some people, I know someone who has the old one from the 90's. Other supercars would just be for display purposes
I have seen the car in person and it is beautiful. People who are complaining about the interior need to calm down...1) it is a "Performance" vehicle not a luxury vehicle; the car was "primarily" designed as a cheaper alternative to compete with the likes of Ferrari. If you want to keep the cost down you have to make compromises. 2) It is Honda's/Acura's first attempt at making a hi-technology/performance hybrid, Honda decided to push the envelope with this vehicle by utilizing an experimental alternative technology rather than the traditional approach of "light weight bigger engine/displacement" which delivers a combined 500 hp and fuel economy of 21 combined, that alone should make up for shortcomings because name another vehicle that can deliver both 🤔(I'll wait). I personally think those who bad mouth this vehicle probably never seen this car (probably can't afford it either) and aren't willing to give it a chance because it is a "HONDA", if another car brand did something similar, say for example Lexus/Toyota, I think people who be more receptive to this "experimental" car. But since it is an Acura/Honda people want to knick-pic little things plastic interiors and not focus on performance. Smh...to each his own I guess.
Ur a fucking moron. 200,000$ for a car isn’t competing with anything, a Lamborghini hurucan costs 20k more and blows this car out the park in every single way other than cost to maintain. But if you have 200,000$ to spend on a car, I highly doubt saving 4-5000$ a year on servicing is ur main prioirity. This car should be 70,000 with all options and in brand new factory condition. It’s a horrible price for a mediocre car, which may have been overlooked by branding but it’s a fucking Honda you dipshit. No one pays a premium to own a Honda, their build to be affordable and reliable, not luxurious and beautiful. This car looks nice like a hot wheels car looks like. Cheap and an overpriced toy. Still don’t believe me cause ur a fucking idiot? Look at the Nissan GTR, the closest car to this one, it’s priced 80,000$ less and has far more functions and capabilities than this. So don’t open your mouth again u fucking donkey
borna asi damn so hostile, why so mad? 😂😂 look up specs about the NSX, 0-60 under 3 seconds, has 50-50 weight distribution, all wheel drive, etc. Sounds good to me, and yeah it’s unique and reliable so heck yeah I’d own one too
Pros: - Looks exotic - Comfortable seats - Bloody quick - Paint colors - Four wheel steering with REAL torque vectoring - Good visibility - Excellent around town and backroads - Great fuel economy - Honda reliability Cons: - Price - Limited storage - Cost-cutting trim - Dated infotainment system Overall a great supercar. With 3 electric motors, exotic styling and a Honda-designed unique chassis, this car is one of the best that money can buy. However, the dated infotainment system and cheap bits in the interior doesn't justify the $150k price tag.
I like the NSX. I prefer the older ones but this one has grown on me. Now they need to bring an Accord R, Integra, and S2K back. This car could have been done better on the interior. Another MR car would be cool, like an OSX; a hark back to a cheaper, affordable MR layout car; v6, no turbos, lighter weight. But man, gotta love the NSX, I wonder if there will be a Type-R version?
Williams Swamydas That is right. I saw it with another reviewer demonstrating it. It is removable and are stored in the glove box and when you install them they seem to encroach on the passenger side available space. Very awkward position and idea.
Cool vid! 1:00 The paddles you'd want to feel premium as hell, I can get that. Honda dropped the ball there. But some of those "cheap" feeling interior trim plastics last waaaaaaaaay longer than the posh material used in most luxury cars. And they also withstand abuse much better! 2:00 There are extra cupholders that you can click into the slot in the passenger footwell. That's what the slot at 2:45 is for.
The Acura US version comes with cupholders. This car is currently selling at around 120k US dollars, here in the US. I think it's a pretty good value for the price.
Still holding same values today 3 years later 😅 yeah I'm eye blue one but out my budget lol. Used gtr is possible or new 6.2l chevy truck. But 120k-200k for blue one in Springfield mo. Lol
The price may be questionable for this car but knowing that you're buying a supercar from Honda. A company that is still known for reliability. I think it is worth it.
Saliya Lokeshwara Honda is the least known motorcycle brand, least reliable, most expensive, underperforming, least sales, and Honda didnt start as a motorcycle company...
Kitsune Ken im pretty sure honda is one of the most reliable brands there is where you can easily get off with really low maintenance. And it is true that they were low on sales on the previous years but they are making a pretty huge comeback with the new africa twin, the cb1000rr and the new crf line up
Saliya Lokeshwara i was being sarcastic lol! Honda is still the largest bike seller globally! I had a super four, cb50 and a zoomer and loved it all! Also had a yamaha but Now i have a kawasaki. I think honda cars just put its funds on its new engine design and quality rather than fancy materials that actually isnt touched by anyone always. Like i dont even care if my car have a dashboard made of cheap plastic as long as i can ride it home for decades without problems.
The interior shows that just because you can create a fast engine doesn't mean you can deliver a complete "supercar" experience. European automakers still have the edge in terms of design.
That's because most fashion designers come from Europe and the rich loves design and fashion over performance. That's why the original NSX was so popular it did compete with Ferrari for less money. Maybe Asians just like performance over design, who knows. But this machine is expensive and they should have added premium materials for the international market.
NaThaN - CS:GO not really. The interior of the LC 500 is very well built, but to me it's not nice. When I look at the whole dashboard, something doesn't sooth my eyes, the design is just odd. Beside, the LC 500 is a different class so cannot compare head to head here.
European automakers make a fancy dashboard but the technology is outdated and to me the Audi R8, Porsche 991.2 interiors are drab and from the late 2000s, Honda has been different just like they did with the first NSX
To be fair, I’m pretty sure Honda just didn’t care much for the interior. Honda does great interiors just fine on their regular lineup. The Accord, for example, is quite luxurious across the trim levels, especially considering the prices. The NSX’s interior is, believe it or not, actually outdated compared to even the Honda Accord or Civic. Especially that infotainment.
@7:30 "Floor it" 3/4 into the video, we finally get to see the car accelerate -- but we do not. The camera should be on the road; not on your face. @8:16 Launching the car. Do we see what the driver sees? No. Again, the camera goes everywhere but the road. Lastly: -- Not one emphasis on the car's brakes. -- Not one emphasis on the car's handling. It is a supercar, and we never got to see how it comes to a fast stop, or are told how the brakes feel, etc. It is a supercar, and we never got to see the car whip around a turn. There was some interesting information provided. But some key and obvious topics were mysteriously omitted.
Fed up with the badge snobs £145000 for a Honda. This is a performance car which is on a par with anything else with a similar price tag and will probably be a lot more reliable.
Ryan Wilkins Exactly and the tech in this goes way beyond anything else af a similar price point. It has similar tech to Porsche 918 hypercar. Better in some respects for instance SH-AWD is world leading
2:47 there should have been a cup holder in the glove box and that clicks in there. The space you were putting the cups into before weren't exactly cupholders 😂
Thanks for your video. I find it funny though how so many people find fault in little things in this great car like they did the original car. But, you find fault with all the cars you review, but, you didn't remind audience that this is first car in 10 yrs, while competitions and yrs to fix and improve their flaws. And comparing a normal version to a R8 V10+ a tweak on a normal R8, etc
ik7921 easy answer. Pure jealousy cause they can’t make a decent car. I used to watch all the old top gears from late 80,s through the 2000,s and the brits slated every Japanese car on that show. Come on though look at Jeremy clarkson he’s a proper public school boy from the Victorian days, totally delusional
deadmarch101 hey dude there’s a simple answer to known good engineering and bad engineering.... good engineering means reliability and bad engineering means the total opposite... simple eh...
The slot on the passenger side is for a cup holder that comes with the car. It has a part that locks into the slot and can be popped out and stowed elsewhere. Odd, but functional. And you can tell people you drive a Honda, then roll up in this.
Seen Through Haggis been thinking the sameI still don't think I'll buy one. Unless it's really a bargain and I doub't it because of the number of them produced
The slot in the center console (passenger side) is for the cup holder bracket - see owner's manual. A cup holder in the center console is really in the way of the driver's arm (elbow).
Honda is the best car company in the world Don't forget from 1980 to 2000 honda was the first and i had a honda integra 1998type r it was legendary super car Honda never gives up
Waseem Mahmasa no such thing as a 1990 integra type r. Only the 1.6 VTEC the first car to have that engine. Type r integras came out 1995 in Japan and 1997 in Europe
Yes, I would spend that much money on a Honda. Back in the late 80's my friend had a hatchback civic. It was from the 70's and it was a little car. He ran that thing into the ground (and trash bins with his car door.). It was stick off course. It was a very fun car to drive as well, although very inexpensive. Durable and cheap. That was like 40 years ago... Since then they've conquered F1 and motorcycle racing at the highest levels. Its the only super car in the world that has a hybrid drive train. A few hyper cars have it, but they cost millions. Designed and made in America. It looks dope. If I remember correctly, the 1st NSX wasn't totally accepted when it came out either. I don't know why all of these videos are talking about how it was such a great car, an icon, etc. But that view comes only with the benefit of hindsight.
You get a beautiful Digital Drive is display I love the fact how do you close colors and it shows information quite well but it shows you would care you’re right in the very middle and the red cat and I love the fact of the miles per hour is integrated into the tile which is very cool to make space and I love the fact that you just use the swivel wheel to control different gadgets and stuff like that role than having to fast around in the entertainment system like you do on Audis and stuff yeah there’s other wheels so easy to do when you’re driving I don’t have to stop in Fatt around
Hi, I think he is at Millbrook proving ground, where they normally film, but it looks cold, and said -2c on one shot, so wondered if it was filmed a lot earlier. I could be wrong though :)
zakelwe That's a good shout, but I don't think it's at Millbrook. Many of times when testing cars maps I've noticed it's literally besides the M25 near Surrey
I just checked with there other video on the Nissan GTR ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qf5cVuHiDjo.html and that has the same opening shot and that is filmed at Millbrook as you can see some of the famous corners where Autocar etc film. So I am still puzzled when this was filmed!!
It's a Honda car !!! Though interior is very cheap and outdated but still it's Honda !!! So it's reliable and easy to service !!! And it's not like other sports car. I can use this car as a regular car !!! You know what I mean to say !!! It's Honda and that's it !!!! Anytime this car over any other super car like lambo or McLaren !!! It's Honda !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
