So my tft display has can replaced twice already in the life of this bike.. And now screen number 3 is also dead.. Totally fails to respond to touch. So I guess it's time for screen number 4 to be fitted..
Ok folks, here is the part numbers I got hold of yesterday. The first part number is my new screen that's about to be fitted. 37900MLGE09 2023 version of tft screen These are my previous screen joist numbers. 379MLGE03 superceded from 37900MKSE05 Hope this helps. The top part number is the latest iteration and hopefully may be an all new part?!?
Man I like just about everything about the 2024 Africa twin except these stupid ass screens they have on all these new bikes It's ridiculous I just want an LCD screen.
I'd never heard of one developing cracks like that. But so long as you've managed to stop it doing worse things and it otherwise works then that's good.
@@GlobalWalkaboutI bought a 2021 5 mths ago. it's a toy so I don't use it much. It's done 3400 miles! I've noticed the screen goes off and comes back on with ignition on. if I turn it on and start engine, it's ok! I spoke to Honda tech when it was in for software update, he said yeah they can do that! I said,it's Honda,it shouldn't break for about 30years!!! I did wonder if it could be the battery as it's had such little use!? I have to go back to Honda as the update was unsuccessful due to an IT problem! I will ask for a full diagnostic as to why it shuts down! only just out of warranty! how much are the tft screens? I've heared £3000 plus fitting!
@terrystratford1235 yeah a $3,000 AUD part.. Don't worry about warranty, you've notified them previously. Tell them you want it replaced. There is more than enough reports of them screwing up that no dealers can say they don't know of the problem unless they are wilfully ignoring it. If the dealer refuses to submit a claim contact Honda national customer service for your country.
@@GlobalWalkabout it's a 2021, I've had it 5mths maybe! Unsure if a claim has been made for tft? That said, it's in for safety recall update. I will ask for a full diagnostic report, printed! If found faulty, I will ask for a free replacement. If unsuccessful I will try Honda direct and due to known faults I'm sure it will be deemed faulty from new and under the consumer act or not fit for purpose or a safety issue, I'm sure I won't have to pay! What worries me is another tft unit is probably guna be just as troublesome!?
@terrystratford1235 it would appear that they may have a new part now as the part numbers have changed between my 3rd screen and the one just ordered.. They won't tell you if it's faulty or not, they'll try to dodge the issue, just go in and say my screen is stuffed.. Tell them due to the fact that almost every other Africa Twin screen has been replaced you think you're needs it. Try to get some video evidence of it doing bizarre things.
