Hang on to that thing them rear tires are absolutely gona HOOK id recommend putting the wheels out as far as they'll go.. 86 had spacers in them stock.. I hate them reverse thread axle nuts, I like the simple matter of fact approach you take to solve problems.... long live the honda atc
@@mrcbuilds thats a good thing.. I once heard it said... anybody can come up with complicated solutions but it takes a smart person to make simple ones....the ability to think and solve problems is disappearing from the landscape. Just lucky for us you solve our 3 wheeler problems, just a few weeks ago I used pvc pipe to extend an intake air boot because I'm using a CR 250 carb and reed boot
Great video!! My first watercooled 250r was from back in the very early 2000's from a good friend's neighbor. It was a full on desert racing trike with some history. But it lost a piston on a race. Long story short, it "ruined the bottom of the block" and it did but I worked at a machine shop accross from Samco. Out in santee CA and the owner was a friend of mine. I was an automotive engine assembler back when I was 18 (40 NOW) Sam the owner hooked me up and I'll never forget that. Iv got a 86 trike now and your videos are very motivational
Hey Favid, I'm sure you know more about these than me. I hope I do inspire others to get out in the shop and build things. I have always found working with my hands a great stress reliever, and clears my head. Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the channel
Outstanding work. Some fab work goes on at the shop but when possible the old, remove and replace, is the norm. Mostly because it's a customers vehicle and new parts are what they request and with liability issues, the safest. With that disclaimer out of the way, creativity in some cases absolutely amazes me. Modify a plow mount to attach a different brand of plow, and create a winch mount in the back of the shop truck to load non-running machines, are 2 from this week. Artistry in a different form from those with dirty hands and determination. Thanks again for the work and effort you share.
The 450r rear breaks are very good set up a lot of people run them on the back of 400s with a aftermarket hess stay this is very interesting to watch you take a 30 something year old bike and put modern day parts on it. you will be able to easily get for the next 30 years
That’s what the bolt is for also it serves to different things. But one is so you can take it out. And stick a needle grease fitting in. I had one back in the day.
@@mrcbuilds I grew up the same way brother, I'm proud of it! I've saved a lot of money by working on my own stuff. Just glad people like you and me are still out there!
Cool man. I like “build videos”. I’ve been meaning to put a bunch on my channel but I doubt if I’d have ever made this one- so thank you! Keep riding them 250’s.
Luckily my brakes work because I don’t have a welder but nice fix! I have to replace my carrier in my 85 and I was hoping you showed the whole install but I have a manual and I’m sure it’s not that difficult.
What year is the 250r you're working on in this video? I've got a 1985 atc250r like yours, but I've heard the years have different brakes and rear bearing carriers in the swing arm
I got a few questions I got a 1984 Honda 200es big red I've tried everything to get it started there is sum wires but I have no idea where they go it's like where the reverse nob is but I'm not getting any spark
Hi Michael first, thanks for watching. If you can contact me on FB and send me a few pic of the wires. Also down load the service manual from oscar meyer website, there free. Look it over and compare to your bike. Trace out each component and I bet you find what's missing or not connected.
It was trashed, the retaining pins stripped out inside the caliper, I tried to drill and tap them but no luck, after all that the bleed was striped. I really tried to save it.
I haven't subscribed yet.Im a member on 3ww I've been watching your video great vids by the way.Im a huge trike nut my first trike was a brand new 84 200x a year later I got my 85 250r still have it . Few months after that I got my 81 250r basket case also have an 83 250r I built another 85 250r lastyear with spare parts going to upgrade the swingarm to 450r.Another RU-vid guy to checkout is Michael Sabo I also watch Preston Frasier I live just north of him a couple hours I haven't met him personally yet.
@@mrcbuilds yeah I figured the original was no good I know they make some replica OEM ones for $75 on eBay I just don't know if they are going to match up to the 450 caliper. They might be at a different bend.
Dystopia, I have no idea, lol good question. I would check the part numbers for each bike @ partzilla.com and see if there are the same or at least interchangeable. Also sometimes, look up the part and it will tell you what other bikes it fits. good luck, thanks for watching
