My Honda Element "D" Dashboard Drive Light was blinking and it turns out it was a Pressure Switch Sensor at the 3rd Gear Clutch Low Circuit with Error Code on the Transmission Computer of P0847.
I had a blinking D light and delayed hard shifting for my transmission. I changed ATF fluid and no luck. After watching your video I replaced both Trasmission oil pressure switches and it work thanks man. Accord 07
@@mrscott4595 i would say change inspect and change the ATF fluid with honda genuine then swap the 2 transmission oil pressure sensors located the the driver wheel. Honda transmissions are very sensitive.
A friend who owns a transmission shop says that on higher mileage vehicles the solenoid packs develope issues and valve bodies gum up. My father's 2003 Odyssey had the blinking 'D'. The codes indicated a transmission fluid temperature sensor (P0706) and range sensor circuit (P0710) problems
You can check any powertrain code with any obd2 code reader... the p in p08** stands for powertrain. Now the code just gives you a place to look and doesn't necessarily show the actual problem. Wich could be mechanical or electrical in nature.. experience and diagnostic skills are needed for that
The code CAN be read via OBDII device, it just cant be one of those cheap basic ones. Any decent scan tool gets access to Trans/Eng/TPMS etc computers.
I had similar problems, but in my case, my civic ex 2010 the problem involved an actual transmission problem that the gear did not shift higher and ran about 45 miles. The dealershop found that two sensors that convey the accelorator input to the transmission failed. so they chaned the two sensors. It cost about USD 210. (south Korea). I was really happy that I didn't have to replace the transmission!!
Thanks man, just happened to me on my Acura TL 05, thank god it’s not too serious. But dam that much money to fix it? I can buy a pressure switch for 30 bucks n do it my self lol
on my situation flashin D comes sometime about 2-8 seconds, at the time transmission stops working and sometimes car engine deads 1-2 second and starts itself when i,m driving, my mechanic check with odd and everything wos good, what can it be?
Honda dealer wants to replace the whole transmission costs $5k USD or 250k Phil peso. So I checked on some comments luckily I've read about the sensor thing. And it works! Costs me jus $80 haha..thanks
pls my D4 gear always start to blink after driving for 3-4mins, but if i put of the engine on motion, and start the engine it will stop blinking and it we start blinking again after driving for 3-4mins. but my gear is selecting perfectly .pls what is the solution pls, waiting for your reply.
I am having a similar issue with my 2007 honda odyssey 2.4L.Drive Light is flashing and the code is coming up as P0713 ATF Temperature Sensor High Input.I spoke to Honda and apparently they cant see any ATF temperature sensor on the transmission. It only has 2 Oil pressure switches on the outside.Car runs great no issue at all with it just the blinking light.Any help will be appreciated.
my 08 civic hybrid has the blinking D light. First the engine light came up then the speedometer stopped working before the D started blinking, When im driving and kinda press on gas then it kinda jerks instead of shifting...then I let go the gas and slowly step on gas until it gradually picks up speed and it will shift with no problem. One day while I was at the traffic stop the car started jerking and going from one gear to another, then I turned it off when I try to restart it, it won’t start again till date. I towed it to Honda and they keep charging me for more money testing but yet to find the problem
Hey i have a question, i change my headlights and i installed hid lights to my honda civic coup 08 after 2 or 3 days the drive light starts blinking, is it because i change the lights ?
Same here. Just installed led headlights. Disconnected the battery to get to drivers side bulb and the D light vsc check engine light and radio codes all came on. Had to disconnect the battery again for about a half hr to reset it
Do you have any places you recommend to go get it checked? I went to someone and he said to just get a new car or change the whole transmission however I don’t think he was right the only problem is the d light flashing.
He's likely not right, both of those are last resort, if you have a really old car, you may just take it to a local mechanic, what make and model is your car, if it's a common model then go with a local mechanic, the dealership will charge you like $300 to fix it.
how long cam you drive the vehicle while this is happening? It just started, when I stop and turn the car off and on, it goes away. i can get it fix this Wed, but need to use it tomorrow to drive about 3hrs away. Will car still run?, currently feels like there is no issues and runs good.
Took out a fuse to it on a Acura and the check transmission, check brakes warning came on. I before the removal if fuse everything was fine. Is it drivable to make to a shop?
The same blinking light is happening to my Honda Accord but a mechanic scanned it with an abd 2 scanner and it read a code for Transmission control module fault.......does anybody know how much is it to repair????
About $280 to fix in dealership and another $120 for changing the transmission fluid after the fix. Yes, mine was a transmission fault too. it was a Pressure Switch Sensor at the 3rd Gear Clutch Low Circuit with Error Code on the Transmission Computer of P0847
Mine started blinking after a pressure wash 😐. It turns off and it acts like it's fine when I turn it back on but sometimes it randomly starts blinking, I'd say like 3 or 2 times a week randomly 🤔
@@floraline7153 The blinking for me happened right after the wash, i sprayed the hose right on the top left tire which makes me think the wash caused it. It's been like 2 months now and i rarely get the blinking light anymore. I still do but it's not as common as before. Had mechanics scan the car but nothing seems to pop up so since it doesn't really bother me anymore i guess I'll just leave it how it is
That was happening to my 03 accord and it was the tranny but I was also told that the transmission in accords 01-05 are garbage. Load and behold I had to get new tranny and car still didn't last me that much longer. Good luck to you. Hopefully hybrid is different story
This just happened to my CRV (2002) this morning. I hate that car with a passion. It replaced my 23 year old Toyota Camry and I've had one damn thing after another go wrong with it.
I had the same issue in my 2007 Honda civic ex..mine was a low oil level in the transmission, but also check for the transmission solenoid plugs and make sure they are tight or making a good connection..after pouring half quart of transmission oil for hondas while i was pushing the brake pedal i drove the shift from P to 1d up and down couple of times then drove the car in D3 for about 3 blocks at low speed 25 to 30mph then parked and i drove in D normal.. and after 20 min check engine light went off...good luck ..
Ron Price after 6-8 ml light was coming on and computer was messing up on what gear it's on (sorry for bad english) I want to tell you the mistake what a stupid mechanic did: when he changed speed sensor "d" light is gone, it was fine, but he in addition completely changed transmission oil which was deadly wrong... after 200 miles my transmission started slipping..it's dead! All old cars transmission oil needs to be changed in a half 50x50, othervice you'll meet high price problems like me... Now I found Japanese engine and transmission warehouse, bought used transmission for $435 (sold as 50000 ml on it with three months guaranteed) and labor $200, which cost me all together $635 because of mechanics mistake? My advice to you brother: go to only transmission mechanics. They will check for free and tell you what's really wrong. If live in LA I'll give you the address where to get transmission for low price.
@@josecardozo8634 12055 Sherman Way, North Hollywood, CA 91605 Intersection laurel canyon/Sherman way. One year passed and still transmission running good. Don't know, maybe I'm lucky.
I have a 2006 honda pilot and i just noticed that the D started blanking in green and i took it to the shop and they said to me that the transmission is about starting to die out on me? So can somebody tell me if that is true?
I am having similar issue, but my car doesn't go forward . I have to leave it for 15 to 20 minutes then my starts to move again. Is it a gearbox issue?
I'd check and made sure your transmission isn't low on fluid. If it's not low, then it'll probably need a mechanic to troubleshoot the issue if you aren't pretty handy under the hood of a vehicle.
I just had a problem with my Honda Accord 2007 V6 this morning, when i was driving the car shook suddenly and it gave me a “D” blinking and a check engine light. After that my car lose power and revving up to 3000rpm in 60mph. After realizing i may have a problem, i stopped and put the car to park and turned off the engine. I checked and open the engine cap, there was no smoke. And i decided to to turn the car back on. And the car gave me only a check engine light no more blinking D. After a few miles of driving the car gave me the same problem like i first mentioned above. Sigh... This cars engine was rebuilt 2 months ago i have driven it about 6000 miles with the new engine. Can somebody help me?? 😭😭
Same with me. I have a 2010 Honda Fit, and my check engine light came on, and the D light was blinking. Took it to AutoZone for a diagnostic got code PO847. Transmission Oil Pressure Switch. Part cost me $43.29, and I’m getting it changed out tomorrow.
Exactly. Pressure low switch. What's that tell ya? Try what I did. TOP UP THE FLUID. My light stopped blinking after I poured 1/2 L in. I shut the car off and restarted the car and it's been off since. Try that first before passing away your money on something you never needed. Dealers love to take money for nothing.
manual cars are the best, hands down and no messing around with pressure switches and all kinda of stupid designed sensor wich btw are bathed inside the transmission fluid, and can be very frustrating to fix.
All production is mass factory trial. Not 100% of units sold are accident-proof, definitely has a percentage error. It also applies to computers, household appliances, kitchen tools, etc. I hope you don't use automatic or even triptonic vehicles now 2022 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
I have 99 honda accord and its doing that. It looks like it over heating then jerks and the light starts blinking. The engine light is on too. So when I drive it take a little time to pick up speed. I don't know what to do anymore 😕 and now it won't start. I paid these m mechanics $400 to fix it. I guessing he never fixed

I was told something similar about mines being a shortage issue. The tech told me my transmission was good. I drive an 04 Honda Civic and my N & D lights are blinking.
