Hepco and Becker sells great top box and side box system for your bike. Just sayin... 😬

Cool, I have a 2023 CB650R. You'll love the sound with the akrapovic full exhaust system. It's great!

This is actually far better than everyone making first impression videos with e-clutch using press bikes and so on. Focusing on actual user issues/experience. When it goes in the neutral during manual shift (between 1st-2nd) and you let the clutch go for e-clutch to engage, does it stall or do anything strange before engaging e-clutch? Would love to know overall experience on bike as well including mods. Also, consider changing title for better reach. Maybe something like this one "Honda CBR650R 2024 E-Clutch Experience and Issues".

Thank you for the feedback, I changed the title. :) Too many promotional videos and to few user experience with E-clutch was the only reason I made it. I figured it might be useful for those considering buying. So for the issue between 1st and 2nd gear - it only goes into Neutral, so when you turn the throttle it rev's instead of accelerates. It doesn't stall though. I would say it happens 1/10 times. Now that I am aware, I notice that I tend to look at the display when shifting 1- 2nd and I quickly shift again, to loose minimal time while accelerating. Another issue, might be that it seems to "jump out of gear". I notice that there is a short, straight line on the gear display, instead of a number every now and then. Nothing happens though, I can accelerate, break or shift gear. I haven't found out why it does that, and it only happens sometimes. Overall experience though is that I absolutely love it. I even enjoy the E-clutch, despite issues. I love the quick upshift, I love having to not use clutch lever when going slow. I love being able to kick it down one gear right before a turn, then up again going out of the bend when accelerating. So overall - very happy with it. I am going to turn off the E-clutch and try that though and see how it rides.

Thanks a lot for your very interesting review ! 3 months ago, I was hesitating between the 2024 model (brand new) and 2023 model (second hand). I chose the 2023 model because I didn't like the E-clutch for another reason : since I'm tall, my tibia would touch it when riding. At the end of the day, I feel like I've made the good decision after watching your video 😅

Hi, I have a 2024 model without the e-clutch and I see the same neutral issues. Mainly on downshift, a number of times I have shifted down from 2nd to 1st and its N, The wont shift into 1st without letting off the clutch and back on. Not great when are rolling to junction and want to go. I have the normal qucikshifter and upshifts are normally fine, but can hit N if not forceful with the shift. So I think thats the gearbox in general rather then e-clutch. Doesnt happen often, I love the bike! Also a short rider 27" inseam. I brought some Daytona Max Sport boots which give an extra 6cm rise and makes a single foot flat for me without shifting my weight.

Thanks for commenting and letting me know. That is interesting that it has the same issues with N even without the E-clutch. I'm glad you also love the bike though! Ride safe and enjoy! :)

I know with just quickshifter (not Eclutch but its the same thing) from 1 to 2 it can come neutral as well this has to do with all quickshifters mostly on many bikes. Quickshifter is nice after second gear and if u go fast ofc :) But quickshifter always been abit of a issue at low gear cause of the neutral gear being in between 1 and 2 😜

You can try to install a racetorx shift lever assist. It helps a lot with false neutral.

Good review. I'm planning to get this bike myself, probably won't find this color in the US, maybe next year. Overall are you very happy with the bike - does everything you expected from it? I love the sound and being sound sensitive have decided to pick an inline four. Happy riding!

Great video! Any problems between first and second gear? Read that there are sometimes problems and your video seems very honest. Thank you very much

Hi! Yes, there are some issues between 1st and 2nd gear. I tried explaining in the video, but essentially it will jump into neutral sometimes. (Not everytime, maybe 1/10) and especially if you are using the manual clutch lever. When you gear up or down it jumps into Neutral, and since most of us are looking at the road and not the display you don't notice until it's revving and not going forward. Sometimes when the engine is cold and you are just starting out I feel like if you gear up to 2nd or 3rd and try to gear down to 2nd again with e-clutch engaged, it will "slam" into 2nd gear, almost like it was not clutching at all. So I often use manual lever when cold and in low gear shifting down. Also it can "jump out" of gear. Then it will just display a line in the gear shift box on the display. It still functions and goes forward, you just have to push the gear pedal a little harder. (I have it switched to "soft" shift so I usually don't have to push as hard.)

Hey! Thank you for sharing your experience, thinking about purchasing one myself, but still have an issue deciding which version I should go for. Do you find sitting position on this bike to be comfortable, hows your wrists after a long day? Seems like it's ok if you managed to travel 8k in a month or so ) Would love to see video about things you like and don't about this bike, and just in general, why you went for it, considering we have options like Aprilia RS660 for example, with a waaaaaaaaay better package out of the box. Thanks!

I was a bit worried about the sitting position as I do enjoy long rides and travelling far, but I was positively surprised. No issues with wrists or back. Though since I am fairly short I had to adjust a bit when I was driving 180 km/h on the Autobahn, it was a bit straining on my neck after many hours. (I was just driving through Germany.) I don't know much about the Aprilia RS660, but it looks awesome. :)

Nice video… good job! I hadn’t seen this in black, only the red. Looks sharp! Did you consider the naked version?

Thank you! The video isn’t great, but I thought it could be useful info for others. 🙈😊 The naked bike looks cool, but I like having the display and steering more “closed” in with the fairings. Just personal preference 😊

When reducing gears using the eclutch, to have a smooth result you’ll have to blip the throttle at more or less the same time you reduce. Try it a few times, some you’ll get the timing too soon or too late and it will be rough still but you’ll definitely be able to time some right and experience smoothness on when reducing. I have the same model, same color. Let us know how it goes,

Can confirm the false neutral is quite annoying sometimes. I adapted by finding inner left foot support, I put it close to the bike and that allows me to shift with more conviction. My eclutch is also set to soft so a tiny touch will make it enter more easily. The other thing, on first gear, when she wants to go it’s usually when she starts and the rpms are a little bit higher, once it settles personally don’t think it does that anymore. But it happened to me the first time at the Aerodrome with lots of ppl watching and it caught me by surprise, made a massive turn too close to parked cars. But I got used to it, just give it a tad of rear brake to control that speed.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely try that. It's probably wrong "technical" riding, but I've realized that if the e-clutch is engaged and I'm slowing down, I just wait until the gear indicator shows downshifting on the display, and then it's super smooth as I gear down. (But I'll be in gear 6 going 35km/h before it starts blinking at me.) Trying throttle blipping tomorrow though.

@@gcarbot Love the insights, suggestions and experience. Thank you!! :) I really appreciate it. I have also set the eclutch to soft, and agree that if I'm more forceful it's better with the neutral issue. I really appreciate hearing about your experience, as I'm still trying to figure things out. I will try rearbreak next time it "pulls" me along as well. Thanks again. Congratulations on awesome bike though :)

@@norsksalsa did you manage to feel any difference? it does take a bit of trial and error. Personally I haven't found the sweet spot/timing yet. Can do as many smooth reductions as I make rough ones. I only have 2200km on mine. What you mention with the yellow sign makes sense. Though I try to avoid going there with higher gears. I've seen a tube video of a guy starting to roll the bike with the 6th gear and the yellow warning. It is amazing that the bike will still go but people were commenting it likely burns the clutch faster. Haven't looked into it but I believe it. So I always try to be in higher rpms. Also this sort of bike tends to form carbon deposits if we roll too long on lower rpms and that can cause detonation and blow the engine. More info on that stuff on forums. But basically she's most happy around +- 4k rpm upwards.

Gearbox just isnt the best on this model, it's o.k but not as good as similar bikes. - CB650R 19's owner. (i have installed the racetorx shift support)

You are just confusing yourself! Either you use e-clutch only or just buy a motorcycle with manual only. Don't mix automatic & manual coz it doesn't serve the purpose & you are paying additional for the e-clutch! 😂😂😂
@norsksalsa
@norsksalsa Месяц назад
Actually the purpose of the E-clutch is to have the choice and be able to use both manual and "automatic/Quickshift" for different types of driving. :)
