@@jordan4541 filter was black, however the inside of the fuel tank was mint clean, so I think the colour in the filter was mainly due to fuel treatments over the years. That said the car feels smoother to drive tbh. 89000 miles.
And there goes all your loose change and fidgety little things you keep randomly throwing in the centre console thinking “ I’ll need that one day”. 😂😂😂👍👍👍. Thanks for the upload buddy. I’d never have guessed it was there. I think I’m going to invest in an extinguisher. 👍👍
"petert696: You can actually change just the filter and o rings, without the need to replace the whole unit." - erm......the vid clearly shows he's changed the filter and the O rings...
@Cab S erm not sure what video you are watching, but it clearly shows that he has purchased the whole assembly, as youcan see them side by side. What I'm saying is that you don't need to do that. Rather, you can buy just the filter element itself and reuse the entire assembly.Hope that makes sense.
@@petert696 It's one of those things where it's a lot of hazzle already, so might as well do it properly. The filters last a very long time and they are pretty cheap.
Thanks for upload mate, the only one on yt that fits european models too. Any sort of precautions that you took (opening the tank plug etc)? Saw those metal springs on the canister..arent they dangerous when fiddling with the canister when trying to fit it back in the tank? Thanks!
Hello can someone help me I have a 07 hatchback 1.4 petrol are these the same feul filter position I bought the bigger fuel filter of thses thinking was in the back of car only two found out it wasn't is mine same position as this thanks and is it the small fuel filter thanks help mbe much appreciated
Thanks! I am hesitating between an aftermarket filter and the genuine. Aftermarket is alot cheaper, but not sure about the reliability and if it comes with all the o-rings and gaskets. Anyone else got an aftermarket filter in their car?
Thanks man I used your video to change my fuel filter you made it so easy to follow 👍 my car is running so much smoother now! Since I brought the car always had issue reversing would always struggle and I would need to put a lot of gas I thought it was due to the ishift gear box but now after the filter change its become really smooth. Also I did notice a lot of debri in the remaining fuel that came out of the filter as I poured it into a glass jar. Already subscribed to your channel, 🙌🙌
@@MMD-z6z Tbh if I could change that teabag filter I would but unfortunately I can't buy the filter on its own it only comes with the pump itself. Only place I found online was Ali Express for a few quid but I can't trust Chinese stuff so I didn't bother. All that said since I've changed the fuel filter my car has been running a lot smoother than before and not only that the mpg has improved as well as the range on a full tank from 320 miles on urban driving to 490 miles and the first time the car is showing 585 miles on motorway driving. My car was very sluggish and I had to push the gas paddle really hard prior to the filter change but not anymore. So I'm pretty pleased with that.. 🙂 Next I'm going to service the injectors and clean the throttle body and all the sensors....
I'm surprised the tea bag like gauze is not included in the kit, its the first line of defence to prevent debris from getting into the fuel pump/filter. A small part that prob cost peanuts yet Honda can't include it in the kit that would save a lot of headache WTF!!
Is it best to change it. Does it get clogged in time. Mine is a 59plate. Garage cost will be 100 to change part labour. They have said honda service don't recommend todo its a lifetime fuel filter. So confused weather todo it or not............
@@driftcarsjp hmm. You say that the fuel filter is not on service manual honda. There are arguments that as its petrol. And I always use v power that itl be clean. Further more honda hq and other sites have said that its all preference.......
If your fuel is very low you will need to put 20 litres in it as if the fuel filter canister is empty and the fuel tank is low it won't suck up enough fuel to run. When your fuel tank is low the fuel pump canister will always have fuel in it this acts as a swirl pot so you don't run out of fuel when cornering. I hope that helps.
@@driftcarsjp thanks bro I started my vehicle I reopened again the fuel pump and notes The fuel regulator was out of its location and clip also so I installed again and my engine got started 😁
Thanks for the how too video. But after watching you change all the parts over , you did not change the filter it's self. I though the filter was the small cloth type pillow at the base of the fuel pump. I'm wanting to do this myself and now I'm confused.
Great simple video, can you not just drain and clean the old filter somehow why its out? Like flushing petrol through it? I ask. Because in my honda service manual guide it states 'drain fuel filter' like every 10k miles or so....
