Man.. I've got a lot of friends, coworkers, and acquaintances in life, but I would give so much to have the car friend ship you two share. It's been such a long time since I discovered your channel, and I truly cherish the videos you two make. The sarcasm, jokes, trumped up rivalry, and some much appreciated autism dabbled in just makes your channel so frigging good. Really love you guys, and always look forward to your very entertaining videos.
I remember watching this series for the first time. When they revealed the final product after all their hard work, my eyes widened and my mouth dropped open a little 🤤(and the music in the background took it over the top). Absolutely stunning; superb job guys!
That song actually dates back to their first Civic build back in 2011 (possibly even before that), I still remember watching that way back in the day. It's awesome how far their channel has come over the years
This brought back so much nostalgia. Love these 90s civics and how light they were. A Del sol was my 2nd car (learned manual on it) and it eventually got a B16 swap. Now 20 years later, I'm more into BMW Ms and C63s but always will have a soft spot for these fun, low-maintenance, and tossable cars.
Got myself a 10 year old 96 EK4 way back in my young days. I thought it would only last for a maximum of 5 years... I sold it in 2020 and still regret that decision. It never once let me down and everything always just worked. Yes, it was rattling, the brakes were underwhelming and of course: it was a Civic. But it was a simple, reliable, fun car. Great series and so many good memories! Got the poster hanging in my living room :)
i feel this, you sell them to move on but you end up wanting to drive them again... it's intoxicating really... welp got a civic and a prelude here so im, for now, happy enough
I've been watching over 10 years I've watched all of the episodes multiple times... You guys definitely need to do this montage with Gramps, supergramps, the Mira and the fairlady... All of the longer builds! I've got 4 kids and as soon as the Christmas episodes drop it's on regardless 😂 quality content.
IN THE BIN!!! My wife and I for the last year have been using the term IN THE BIN for so much stuff. It’s a natural move here and so funny. PLEASE do a IN THE BIN teee. I will be all over it and so will my wife.
My god... I love the disrespected series and the purity of just watching to blokes with the right tools get things done, but this should be considered ASMR.
I always lose it when the finished one in the last part is shown. It couldn't be better (I just don't get it why so little power from B16, I'd say it should've gotten at least 135-140 hp at the wheels). But it doesn't matter really - still my fav MCM build, the one that got me into your channel, as well:)
I dont usually post feedback, and maybe im the only one that feels this way, but this series was the one that kind of got to me and made me jaded about MCM for a while. I've always been a fan of civics, and seeing the disdain for the car as you guys worked on it got under my skin a bit. The channel in general seemed to be about how positive and fun car modding can be, but the constant dumping on this one that was such a staple in the car modding scene seemed in bad taste. I stopped watching the series a few episodes in, and stopped watching the main channel altogether. I am glad you guys uploaded this one, and that I got to see the positive ending. I get everyone has their preferences, but if I had complete disdain for a car that is popular to the community I don't think I would want to go make a series about it. Although as always, the end result with you guys was incredible.
I totally understand what Moog's point because it's worth it to see his best friend enjoying it I've had completely the opposite my best friend has sent a lot of time and money on car's that have been too rotten to bring back 😢
I actually replaced my coilovers on a 12 year old car this weekend, things down there were rustier than a newly elected US president, it was definitely far from a fun job, the axle, the swaybar endlinks, the lower control arm, all the bolts were rusted solid, it made me happy I'm not a professional mechanic
There is nothing to understand, either you love them or not. That said... you have tuning abilities, there is NO reason you don't have a 2 liter short block under that head. You can do a b20 block or bore and stroke the b16 block to 2 liter displacement.
Thanks for producing this 20min wrap up of the build. Whilst I would hate to miss out of all of the full episodes, this was a great way to remember them - and the ending was glorious! Well done Moog for putting ur mate first. Truly inspirational - and your music was epic as always. Cheers boys.
Everyone who deals with road salt cried a little watching you zip those LCA bolts out so easily. Seriously, the cars around Chicago of that era require a flame wrench and a sawzall to remove LCAs usually.
@@ARamseyGuy soaking them in copper paste would/will just futureproof doing maintenance on it... had to cut my lca bolts at the rear on my eg hatch too, soaked all the 3 with copper paste and now you can zap em in and out any day of the week, GER here - sadly got the lowest trim and smallest engine still a fun car nevertheless :)
a lot of people will never understand what honda does with those little vtec engines. but im very grateful that you guys managed a very tasteful build without taking a piss out of the civic for once. If you really refine that build and learn to drive it you've got a very fun and fast track day car on your hands.
Love it, great recap for those who weren't or aren't able to watch the full build videos. Car turned out so great. Fantastic job. I hope these keep coming. I gotta commit to losing some weight and buying some of your merch. Least I can do for the 10 years of great stuff. Gaps in between of me watching but I've been loving the 4x4 stuff lately. Not going to stop commenting about fraser island until you guys go there!
This was sick. The ending the car came out beautiful. I have a 97’ EK had. 95’ EG (EH2) eventually will do CRX as well. That 88-00’ golden era you either get it or don’t. Nice job on the edits, motor work and the paint work!!
I don't know which one of you that did the final edit MOOG or Marty, but I really love your breakneck speed editing. Making mere hours seem like seconds. Film magic. Now you only wish the whole build took this amount of time in real life. Ha ha ha!
Some vehicles just live in our hearts, they aren't always the fastest or the nicest to look at but we love them. For me it's my diesel 83 yota, rusty, slow, ugly, but he's my boy and I'll spend stupid money to keep him around another 40 years.
This has got to be one of my fav builds on the channel. It’s up there for sure. I got a soft spot in my heart for the golden era of Hondas. The end product is beautiful. And the “let me hold you” song is beautiful as well.
still confused at the 70ish kw at the wheels if convert that to hp is 103whp mine with the same intake skunk2 manifold 76mm throttlebody mill out to 82mm and 3 inch exhaust made 166whp on hondata on 93Ethnol maybe the S80 ITR trans I had was the game changer? 4.785 vs 4.40 gearing assuming its a gsr or sir trans . are you just not running the timing hard ? mines around 19 Deg if i can remember. this was back in 2012-2014. wondering where that 40-50kw are missing >????? huge L
I work with a high school kid who is a slave to the tool trucks, I'm reasonably sure he doesn't keep any of the money he makes except in name brand metals... Meanwhile I make more, using cheaper tools, and pay bills that include a 3.5k mortgage and are NOT the tool truck guy... Buy once cry once IS a thing in some aspects, but I like buy smart cry not better
Even though moog hates civic's I really hope this reincarnated sexy wheelie bin grace's our eyeballs again soon (hopefully for some forced induction) ;)
