Thanks for the video! A guy on another channel got 42mpg with a 2022 Civic at 72mph on the highway, but it's a six-speed manual. Goes to show that manuals still get better gas milage, though not by as much as I thought!

Mfmishere, my ‘16 Civic with the 2.0L i4 pretty much does that same type of mpg’s…same type of driving. But when I do summer vacay driving on the hwy, I can get about 40-42 mpg. 😃👍🏼

Sad sight. I have a base model coming the end of this month. Should I hold out for the Camry hybrid? I thought this lil guy would get 40 plus on the highway. Great Videos by the way, I watched a few of your car rides during my new car exploration.

I get 43-45 highway but then I’m only driving around 60 mph with feathering the gas pedal. I was grinched every time I saw his mph moving up and down so rapidly. I see some guy’s are getting 48 mpg with this 2.0 car. You have to drive to get mpg’s.
@daveyboyflips
@daveyboyflips 2 года назад
@@chodkowski01 I do a lot of city driving and I am at 1000 miles so far. I am at 33.5 I believe. I had the air on a lot lately, not sure how much that is effecting things. Since Garage sale season it has gone down slightly. I have not reset the trip log or mpg monitor as of yet. i could see getting into the 40s on the highway with the way I drive #Oldmanstylebro

we had a 2016 civic that always got 36 mpg at 160K when we sold it. We bought a 2022 civic touring.(they only have one motor that is smaller but faster) that was getting 31MPG and I was not happy. It has 16K on it now. LOL But the last 4 K the mileage has been going up and we have done nothing different. Today it's almost 36MPG. I can't explain it.

Okay I’m very confused. I have the lx and it says my average is 24.7 forever like it doesn’t say I get more when I go on the highway or anywhere. Am I really getting just 24 to the gallon?? Is my car tweaking ?? Help also how in the hell do you fill up to 378 miles mine usually stops around 300 my car is frickin weird
@CarDietrich
@CarDietrich 2 года назад
Reset your trip computer and see how that changes it. The average is based on the trip computer, so if it's never been reset that might have something to do with it. That's also why the car in this video says 378 miles to empty and yours only says 300. That number is based on it's current average mpg. Of course it also has a lot to do with where and how you drive. If you drive mostly on city streets and floor it all the time, your gas mileage will suck. This drive was done on the freeway at night at a relatively reasonable speed, so pretty ideal conditions to get a good number out of it.

It all depends on how you drive it. I have a 2003 civic coupe, auto 4 speed. My best tank was 43.2 mpg. When I do 50mph on the highway (2000 rpm) it does 50mpg. But that’s because it’s a 4 speed. These new ones have a CVT (aka unlimited speed which keeps rpm low). You should in theory be able to match what I get if you switch up your driving style.

@@CarDietrich next time your in a car with real time mpg. You can just trying to keep the gauge to the right as much as possible. Don’t keep your foot on the gas all the time. Gas then remove your foot from gas pedal. Try to as much as possible keep the gauge from falling below the center line. The gauge has starting point, center line dot and the end of the line which is the right. The second display that shows the map kills one mpg. And AC too. If you have a hybrid you need to drive like this.
