Honda Coolant Replacement (Prestone Asian Blue) 

Happy and Safe 2021 Everyone!!!
Honda Type 2 Antifreeze is almost 4x the cost of Prestone Asian Blue here in the Philippines. They are both pre-mixed non-silicate OAT coolant designed for Asian vehicles with aluminum engines. Honda says their coolant will last 5yrs while Prestone is good to last up to 10yrs. But of of course, I still prefer to replace my 10yr old car coolant every 5yrs.
My Honda Jazz has original coolant since I bought it brand new from the dealership. Last year, I need to do emergency replacement of the bottom radiator hose and need to flush out the coolant. Type 2 Honda coolant is not that available then so I temporarily used the green Prestone coolant. I think it is better than distilled water. I never had any issues with my cooling system since then.
Here comes the new Prestone Asian Blue Antifreeze in the market designed for asian vehicles like Honda, Acura, and Nissan, and some other asian vehicles. It is cheap with identical specification with Honda.
Yes, Honda is not an Antifreeze maker and in my years of driving and doing DIY with my cars Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and now Honda Jazz, I have been using Prestone and never had issues with this brand.
Some of you may have maintenance budget and prefer original Honda brand even if it is expensive but with my experience with Prestone, I will stick with this cheaper and safer brand.
