250 sounds better, runs better, and you always got that amazing smell of the burning castor if you use that type of oil, but I have to admit today's 4 strokes are hella nice.
Top speed the 4 strokes will always win. They are geared different. Drop the rear sprocket on the CR250 by 2 teeth or increase the front by 1 tooth and the race will be a lot closer. Also that CR250 cant be running at optimal performance because it should pull the front wheel off the ground on pavement in every gear.
bro any cr250 even with big bore kit 300 would get smoked by 450r you think honda a race bread company stopped making 2 strokes in 2004 because 4 strokes are slower, so honda works back wards lol bro honda had cr500 now the crf450r thats there killer now you want to compare then compare you cr250 to crf250r thats still faster stock for stock
ROB BASS look it up on RU-vid or other sites. That's not why they went 4 stroke. 4 stroke is cleaner. I will race any 450 with my 250 and on a track it is equal. Drag after 3rd gear the 450 will start to pull ahead. Show me a race with two good riders
To be honest I dont believe no stock 450 is going to walk down a 250 stroke like that. I've raced, ridden both and have never seen anyone walk a 95+ strong running 2stroke down unless they are built. This is definitely an orchestrated video in my opinion. I've never seen a 250 or 450 that wouldn't lift the front wheel off the ground on the street. So either they are baby shifting, or both of these bike are very weak. My sons 80 will come up all the way to 3rd gear on the highway.
Well arent you a joke. The 450 beats the 500. You lot just cant handle that a 4stroke beats a 2stroke. Face facts & get over it. The stuff that gets typed is hilarious.
@@leesbikelife2231 Did i say that`s what you said ? You`re the one who cant handle the truth & makes up crap. They dont race 2strokes anymore & the 450 beats the 500 so get over it instead of typing crap. You seen the video & whinged with made up crap cause you cant handle the fact that 4strokes are faster.
@@rodneyjones4890 Your punctuation, and run on sentence needs a HERO 🤣🤣🤣. I said there's no way a STOCK 450, IS GO-ING TO WALK DOWN A 2-5-0 2 STR-OKE! READING IS FUN-DA-MEN-TAL.
For me growing up in the late 70's / early 80's there is just something wrong with a 4 stroke motocross bike,, just dont sound right.... Love the sound of the 2 stroke.... Funny how it takes about twice the size motor in a 4 stroke to keep up with the 2 stroke... Same goes for outboard boat motors....
Ghost Squad duh, more strokes to complete an engine cycle. Thats why they call it a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke. Dont call me dumb when i kmow exactly what im talking about. You obviously ride a small 4 stroke so i would expect u to know.
Jakelols Gaming I understand your point but you are confused because with that analogy the two stroke would have to be double the four stroke not the other way around
ViciousPillow73 well it isnt the other way around, thats why a 125 2 stroke is just a fast as a 250 four stroke. Because it has dpuble the power and doesnt need to double its cc to compete
No way. How many 450 have you drag race. How fast a 450 is in a hole shot depends on the mapping. Map 3 it’s about 70% power add about 1/3 throttle. The acceleration on map 3 is ridiculous. I have CR250 and KX450.
@@SD-ir1vfI agree with the other commentor 2 strokes will be faster if not faster just as fast as double the cc 4 stroke until higher speeds (4 strokes have higher top speeds)
my 450 does 85 and I'll ride a wheelie all the way to the top of 5th gear. You're a pussy is 60 miles per hour scares you want to bike. Don't ever get a liter bike 200 miles per hour might scare you to death. Damn pansies
the 450 has 5 gears where the 250 has 6... the 2 stroke has the extra gear because of its ability to rev up and go through the gears quicker... great vid man keep up the good work!
All i need foe my bike is a thumb throttle but its very hard to get it over here in the bahamas...hope you guys couldhelp me out and ill probably fo a shoutout to your channel....love what you guys doing man
2vintage I did "watch the vid" how about you learn your bikes. Cr500's commonly put 60+hp at the wheels. Cr250's put down mid 40's if tuned correctly. Look at some dyno graphs smart one. The fact that a 250 gets through gears faster is because it's a short ratio transmission, cr500's have wide ratio transmissions as they are commonly used as desert bikes. Now I'm gonna assume you probably don't even know the difference between those. The 250's gears are shorter and set closer together, so it obviously gets through gears faster. However, that doesn't mean it's a faster bike, it just means it's gears are closer and shorter. Back to the power argument, the cr500 not only makes more power and has a better power curve, it makes a lot more torque. Now I'm gonna give you some seriously friendly advice, do your homework before you comment on something so you don't look like a jackass, we've all don't it including me. But if we know are stuff, it happens a lot less.
Oliver Lewis 100% agree. I'm not mad that he doesn't know things, it's just that he's been told numerous times and still doesn't correct his mistakes... and yea, big bore 2 strokes rock, I'd love to try out a maico, they're like 700cc 2 strokes.
Mathew Trent Oliver Lewis W..T..F? before you guys start googling stuff #1 that's NOT a cr 500 it's a cr 450cc it's built for 1 purpose- MOTOCROSS racing #2Suzuki produced the rm500 for 1yr it was 2stroke&air cooled purposely built for mx before your mom was born #3ALL mx bike are built with close ratio transmissions. before they murdered the open class the only 450 Honda produced a was air cooled biggest pos next to the tm 40 ever built mx bikes up to 500cc, Yamaha and Suzuki were done. Yamaha did make a VERY short lived 2t 500cc it came with a slightly wider tranny so it wasn't purposely built for mx. mx by then kx cr's 500cc freaks were already being converted to desert/distant bikes with front/rear sprockets. sales skyrocketed finding untapped market for Honda Kawasaki. 250cc became top class. OF the big 4 Yamaha started playing with 4t against 2t. 4strokes had such disadvantage they needed up to 450cc to be competitive. hard enduro- romaniacs etc got hot that's when yzwr's and began. his 450 has a close ratio built for mx.
I understand man, the go pro makes it look like you going like 10mph when you're doing like 40. And then we have the butthurt people thinking that there crf 50 can smoke Chucks kx 100. Yeah you can't get away from haters not even with 4 subscribers *cough cough* me. Anyway's great video man I know this comment was all over the place.
my 06 CRF450R makes the same noise. nothing to worry about. its the chain hitting off of the the chain guide you showed, or the swingarm. people just don't know 450's have so much damn power their gonna make noise
I'm a 2 stroke guy now after all the 4 stroke rebuild prices but my 05 yz450f smoked the shit out of my brothers 2001 cr250 honda in a straight line, and he used to race motocross.
It’s just a fact that a 450 four stroke has more horsepower that at 250 two stroke. But they break down more and there’s more to go wrong with them. And they take a lot more maintenance. So when you’re working on your four stroke I’ll be riding my two stroke.
@@jmillertv1304 2 stroke is a better trackbike and enduro bikei can say that but 4 stroke is a better stunt bike and better cruising bike but u kbow what... both are good. I own both 2 and a 4 stroke and i love both of them
mynam3 your right I’ve only rode a four stroke a couple of times but I own two strokes one Tm 250 and a kx 100 supermini but the four strokes were really smooth I have to admit
@@jmillertv1304 and im just saying that there is no point to compalin about which one is better cuz they are both good although a rmz 450 is quite a pain to kick over compared to my banshee or my kx 125
If the 450 was a two stroke, he would've been gone. it had a higher top speed but slower off the start cause it's a 4 stroke. A 2 stroke puts out more power at a lower rpm.
The fastest bike I ever rode was a Suzuki Katana gsx1000... You guys should look for a Hayabusa turbo!! Let Charlie ride it! Mint bikes don't need repair and start first kick!
i figured it out. this has to be a parody channel! i fell for it hook line and sinker. you didn't open it up. if you did, th front wheel would NOT stay down. that's one way to tell it's running waay bad. it should've SMOKE the 250 bad start or not. you got head shake or front wheel shake you need steering head&or axle bearing. it will kill you.
good race fellas but i would most definitely be taking a look at those bikes. My 06 250R carried the front wheel into 3rd on the stock pipe and i weigh 260lbs. I was giving healthy 450's a good run for their money but definitely was not gapping them.....but im not on a stock setup any more ;)
Brian a newer (not an 04) (2016-2018) 450 is much quicker than even a 500 2 stroke it’s also faster usually depending on gearing on both bikes. 450s rev a lot higher and deliver their power over a much broader range which makes for faster top speeds and a quicker easier to ride bike.
that idle is way to high on the 450. turn it down and race again the 450 should win every time. i wish it was the other way around but the four strokes are usually always dominant in high- winding drag races:)
That 450 has no compression, listen to how bad it runs! Jesus Christ it's a miracle that thing even runs! You got ripped off big time, sure you only payed 1600 but it's gonna take a lot more money to actually get that thing running properly.
2 stroke for me any day. Back in the day, I had my share including a Yamaha IT 490, a Honda CR480R, and a CR500. Oh yeah, for street I rode a Yamaha RD350.
No wonder. He is driving a clapped out 450. And it's a fucking Honda. Even my 2002 Yamaha yz426f 4 stroke has over 1 horsepower more then that piece of shit. As i use to say, ''Honda the gentle giant''. They are too slow.
When it comes to doing to top end on a 4 stroke you have to deal with valves and other shit. It may be less maintenance but when it comes to doing the maintenance it's a lot harder. Remember there are 50% less moving parts in a 2 stroke engine then a 4 stroke engine.
I just got one for my 15th birthday (my first bike) and ive only been able to start it 2 times and stalled it both times trina go becaus im to scared to give it power
Dude how many times can someone say the word 'fast' in a video? And not to mention every vid this kid makes he thinks his bikes are going to 'break' from doing a 3 min run 😂
with how long it took for that bike to start, even with you edit when you first started it up, a four stroke dirtbike in good health will start 1-2 kicks cold no matter how long it sits, that bike does not. also the early honda's ( before 09) were known for having top end issues, take the valve cover off and at least inspect everything, it atleast needs a new timing chain, which should be done every other season at least.
