This car has the weirdest roof opening mechanism in automotive history. Thats why del Sol reminds me the Transformer! #hondacrx #delsol #transformer #crx #transformers Join volant.tv, thank you! / volant.tv / volant.tv / volant_tv
No need to put the windows down before "Transforming" The windows go down automatically once the 2x latches are unlocked and the roof button is pressed.
I am an original owner of a 1997 Honda Del Sol si. In the United States this option was not available. My car is in great shape. I for one prefer the manual system. I have a useful trunk. Because of its reliability I am down to one car. My car is used almost on a daily basis. I do have family near by so I can get a ride. But it usually years before I have to do something serious. I am at 208,000 miles. Best car I have ever owned!
@skoteca 6 Yes! Thats' why they named it that! I took 2 years of spanish and knew what it meant and thought they, Honda Didn't realize what it meant. But they did. It's because the roof comes off! It's an Awesome Little Car! 🐹😊
I have one I named her Nancy and I love her so much dude that's a great car I am 30 years old I'm older than Nancy by 2 years and I'm insest that it's the best car that I got all over my life
First To comment! Yay! Thank you for making the video of the "Transtop"! Yes, I also think of it as a "Transformer Top" or "Transforming Top" Awesome underrated car.
Hi there and thanks a lot! In Eastern Europe (this is where I come from), Del Sol is rare, people usually do not know this car. Some know the first gen but this one is almost unknown. I've never seen another Transtop, so this could be the only one here...
Facts are the roof could have been designed to "Transform" faster but it was safety oriented. Proof is all safety features and requirements below: Car must be standing still = To prevent distracted driving while "Transforming" Hand brake must be on = To prevent sudden rolling Engine must be on = To prevent flat battery Rear window must be on = To prevent any heads or hands getting caught Rear boot raises and lowers slowly = To give time and prevent hands getting caught. Rear boot beeps when going down = To give audible warning Rear boot (trunk) goes down in stages (3 x stages) = To warn, give anyone unseen behind time to move away.
