An unusual combination, the Honda CRZ is often not thought of a tuner platform. However, with the Greddy turbo kit it can be. Join me as I visit the guys at Kami Speed and we visit the dyno at Rev Works in Orlando, Florida.

Got my 2011 Crz a few months back. I fucking love it. 6 speed is enjoyable, I don't spend more than $20 a month on gas, and it's a small little go-kart of a car. Can imagine seeing these girls pop off in the coming years for enthusiasts. Would love to see a high quality eco build tuned specifically to keep the turbo active during 3k rpm and higher and let the electric motor keep the lower rpm driveability in check for maximum gas mileage/fun.

4 cyl + turbo + hybrid + light weight means it probably has amazing fuel economy and it's stillfun to drive.

Man i would love to do this to mine. A small reliable turbo setup would make it the ultimate daily. 190hp-180ftlbs would be perfection

If I can recall on this. Kamispeed engine setup was stock Injectors, stock clutch and 5lbs of boost. Wonder what it be like if he open that turbo to 20lbs.

it would destroy the rods quicker than you expect. doubt it would survive over 10psi on that turbo. I made my own kit for my CRZ using GT2554R, it's nice and fairly quick for UK standards, running 5psi it made around 170bhp (dyno said 190bhp, but I don't believe it due to the reputation of that specific dyno giving out 10% higher power than car actually makes) could crank it up to maybe 8-9psi and it would be at it's limit then. K swap is my next step, I have a nice Holset waiting for it. Doubling the power again

now my question is before i spend a lot of money.... is that 187 and 193 reliably? my crz is my wheels to work so she feeds me, can the engine handle that? im almost at 110k miles

stock block can handle around 200hp more u will need to replace hard parts on the engine

Not bad...k24 best way to go if you can find a shop to do it. Minor bolt on will deliver 220 whp with less maintenance. Having to own one currently, dislike the low hp and small gear ratio in the 6 spd transmission. I get about 40 to 42 mpg on the freeway. My late stage 2 MK7 got 35 mpg on the freeway(320+ whp is what shop claims with their tune file). Great car to alter like most hondas but crap car stock!

The turbo kit has been discontinued for about 3 years. If he would come back I would buy him live.

I believe you can still buy order it but it'll take 14 weeks before they ship it out. $3,500 est. Not bad either.

so, looking at boosting a hybrid, and 2xing the traction battery (prius turbo? (can you even?)) this would be a great build if the hybrid system could be extended as well and a plug-in charger added.. thank you for showing that the CRZ can be boosted!

street legal CARB version available? Commiefornia changed a few laws lately. Just looking to do between 3-7 pounds of boost, not a track runner, just a little better freeway passing and little oomph off a red light.

I'm afraid I know the answer to this, but can I do this mod on a 2013 CR=Z with a CVT trans? Don't be too hard on me because I tried to find a manual but could not. FWIW, I also have a modified Lotus Evora GT that's pushing at least 430 HP, so I respect going fast. Best!

I want to say thank you to everyone who shared messages of inspiration and love. I want to wish you all Happy Holidays and give thanks for your prayers and notes. They really mean a lot to me to know that so many people around the world were inspired by the Boostaholics videos. Great news is that my health is getting better. I think they found a medicine that works well with me. Since I have started to feel better, I have been working on reuploading videos to RU-vid so that the Boostaholics channel will live on. Over the next week or so, expect to see a lot of uploads! I'm not ready to get back on camera yet but that is my goal. I'm taking it one day at a time. Thank you for your understanding.
