What year is your del Sol? The EG Civic had leaks in that area and I think by 1994 or 1995 they started adding more seam sealer from the factory. Maybe the same happened with the del Sol for similar years.

I've got a 93 and it's the same deal, I've heard it's seam sealer from the factory but not 100% sure.
