I was ignorant ass and someone had deleted the kicker and plugged the hole...badly. Rode without oil for a while. Put in new oil, plugged hole, blew a piston...

Hi James, thanks for the kind words, and yes I am proud, and for that reason Honda could bring back these bikes that so many people like, they would be easy to purchase, cheap maintenance and super reliable. Here in Portugal they even appear and are relatively cheap, but then in the US you have access to the xr650l which is a spectacular bike with same engine...I would have both myself 😆. while here only a few older xr600l appear. Ended sales around 2000, like the xr650r in 2002. Stay safe mate and good rides.

Hi stallo! I just changed the oil in both brakes. Now all you need to do is change the suspension oil. Thank you for the tips! ✌️

Change brake fluid every year at the front and rear, so you avoid problems with bad brake fluid and rust in the brake cylinders. the brakes in case of heavy braking. New brake fluid lubricates the brake cylinders and prevents rust. The boiling point is lower on old brake fluid due to it absorbing moisture, when using new brake fluid you have more safety against boiling. Small cost for security. Good luck. @@kribaska Good choice man. Yes, this single-cylinder engine with an exhaust is really aggressive, I couldn't change it for the original once again xD. This bike doesn't deny anything. Enjoy it :)

Bem quanto à fiabilidade desta mota ela tem um dos motores mais bem sucedidos da Honda, este 650cc RFVC refrigerado a ar começou em 83 com a XL600R e sofreu poucas mudanças desde ai, adicionaram um pouco de cilindrada e equipou as famosas XR650L, conhecida como a melhor dual-sport bike. As Dominator sempre usaram este motor desde 1988 a 2003 e todos sabem que é a prova de bala, por ai nao tens problemas. Óbvio que terás de ouvir com cautela o barulho do motor para ver se nao há sons meios agressivos batidas, e reparar se sai algum fumo do escape, se for um pouco azul poderá estar a queimar óleo. Quanto a carenagens e tal, existe muitas pessoas a fazer scramblers destes modelos por isso desfazem-se delas e encontras à venda com facilidade. Se bem que se quiseres peças novas e originais, especialmente plásticos é um pouco caro, mas ao menos ainda fabricam. Mas sim é fiável, nao se nega a nada, se tiveres sempre em atenção ao nível de óleo regularmente e te-lo sempre a nível, a mota nao te falha, é mecanica simples, nao tem por onde falhar, e se falhar é fácil de consertar. Hey man! Thanks for the comment. Well, when I bought this bike it already had these exhausts from the Dominator brand. I found this link that seems to be the same. However mine did not fit perfectly, but with a few touches were good. I recommend that you buy some that fit right so you don't have too much trouble. For example, I love the ARROW exhaust style. @@evan_landolt The oil can be different because of region temperature. But 10w40 is the correct for your country i think. I used full synthetic this time. But since I change the oil every 3000 km, I use semi synthetic. because it's also good and cheaper.

Ciao Dutch Dixon, per quanto riguarda i consumi, non sono sicuro che siano peggiori degli scarichi originali, mantengo dai 5 ai 5,5 litri per 100 km. E per quanto riguarda la potenza neanche io ho notato nulla di significativo, solo un suono al top!! Se non cammina più almeno sembra quel suono!! Spero che questo ti aiuti. Guida sicuro✌
