Excellent video! Just completed this on my Element. A few tips: 1. Use a piece of 3/16 inch aquarium pump tubing to remove bulbs from sockets. Push the tubing over the bulb and use the tubing to pull the bulb out. 2. Check operation before fully re-assembling! 3. LED bulbs have a polarity! If any individual lights do not work, remove socket and rotate 180 degrees.
Thanks for the detailed instructions; I bought Honda bulbs and changed them all out. Tried LED's and didn't love them - they didn't last that long - maybe 2 yrs. This is a pretty easy job, even for those who may be nervous to remove the instrument panel. I didn't have the plastic thing, just used a flathead screwdriver for part 1 to pop out the side panel.
Thanks guy! I have 04 LX Element in burnt orange. I did the ice blue thanks to you. My transmission bulb too. My heat, fan, and a.c. I just did stock. I watched the video with the guy modifying the holders, not worth it to me. I had to really wiggle those out old bulbs out, only one broke. I used hemostats to grab the little wires and worked it out. I had about 3 led bulbs I had to 180 to work. Looks sic! Cheers from Chicago!

i did this upgrade about a week after buying my E with Ice Blue leds becuase i had 3 bulbs out all the time.... for whatever reason after installing them i got that intermittant dash light problem where id have to mechanic slap my dashboard to get my lights to turn back on, after trying the cardboard trick a few different times to fix it and 3 months of slapping my dashboard it stopped working altogether, so i took the cluster apart found the solder points for both of the plugs on the board, turned on my solder gun, and i set the solder gun tip on the end of each pin, heated the old solder till i could see it visably melt and fed the tiniest bit of new solder onto each pin into the wet solder(not the tip), put it back together and now my lights have NEVER been brighter and the Ice Blue Leds are sooooo sexy. If you end up with that problem in your element the problem is cold solder joints from the factory eventually they lose thier ability to power the bulbs in the cluster, the cardboard trick is a waste of time, just redo the pins and save yourself the frustration
Hi there Last week I did change all led bulb .not same led this guy install blue one looking good ?! And I don't think about 2 buld at bottom with gray color those defferent ? after change and turn the key On not thing light ON ??? And now my car won't start anymore! like no power but the battery is still power . Can you help me fix that problem? Thank you so much ..TIM
@@timkimone the two bulbs at the bottom in the center are the ones for your mileage, in my car i actually removed them altogether becuase i couldnt find a "high score" sticker and i hated looking at 228k miles all the time... anyway the housings are different from the rest of the bulbs, in that they are longer but they still connect the same as the other bulbs so you could replace them with the same ones if your car isnt starting its not connected to your dash lights, you could try checking the fuse for the fuel pump if you dont hear a high pitched sounds when you unlock the key with the keyless entry from outside the car(the sound of it priming), starter(if it doesnt crank when you turn the key)... im only guessing at the symptoms becuase i dont know how its behaving.... your problem could be any number of things from "not enough voltage" from your battery even though it still has a charge" a great battery has 14 volts being pushed to it from the alternator when its running, a clogged fuel filter, bad fuel pump, bad spark plugs, bad air filter, blown fuses, bad grounds(interior) or engine grounds... thing is you need someone who knows cars to look at it if it isnt throwing an engine code
Simply jam a pair of nickels, stacked beneath (below, along the bottom side) the wider of two harness jack receptacles, in back of the instrument cluster. That's the one closer to the passenger side, near the fuel/engine temp gauge. They act like a tight shim which presses the contacts firmly onto the circuit board, without any need to take it apart or solder components.

I need to pick an E owners brain as I am having issues with my FR socket and now the mileage indicator and dimmer buttons no longer work. I checked fuses and found the socket one and it looks ok but have no idea if there is a fuse for the mileage indicator. What should I be doing to troubleshoot this? Thanks mych
Hi there. Thanks for your videos. Just wanted to share my experience with this DIY. I bought the LED’s but on the 2010 Element it looks like they can’t be replaced as easy. The back panel of the dash does not have access to remove them. Just wanted to share. Thanks again.
I have a 2011 and went to try this (had an 05 before this one) and saw the lights are integrated into the circuit board unfortunately. They are part of the glass structure behind the gauge stickers
Are they still working? I have some that I installed over a year ago and have issues with some of the bulbs not lighting or lighting off and on. I don’t recall the brand. Mine are also blue.
Hi, yes they still working fine in both of my Elements.make sure they all well install and not loose. Also some element cluster has lightning problems , like it goes on and off. But first check with the bulbs.
