So do the delivery guys just put the pallet on the street in front of your driveway? If so how did you get it off the street? I'm considering buying one of these but I dont have a pallet lifter or fork lift and the street is busy.
George Smith if you get lift gate service they will do threshold delivery. As long as you have a smooth driveway or big enough driveway for the truck they should be able to get it anywhere in that driveway.
Nice setup. I ran mine dry last Saturday. I saw no fuel in the tank and it still ran about another 1/2 hour with the ECO off. The're great on fuel. I try to rotate my fuel every 6 months.
I'm gonna buy 4 5 gallon jugs and stabilize them and store over winter and then use in my lawn equipment and cars to swap out the stock in spring/summer. in addition i'm looking into some extended run kits. So far in the year we have been in the house the longest outage we have had is 2 days, i think for Sandy it was like 8 days.
Sandy we were out for 10 days. I have 6 of the no spill cans. I also bought a 29 gallon fuel walker. I usually keep 10 gallons of fuel in the summer and 20 gallons in the winter. The fuel walker I put in my truck bed and fill if there's a bad storm on the way. I rotate out the fuel every 6 months.
How hard is it to put the wheels on by yourself given how heavy the unit is? Do you somehow just tilt it using the handles to put on the wheels or do you slide it over to the edge of the pallet?
You can put it on its side to put the wheelers and brackets on BUT, make sure you do not put ANY FLUIDS in her...that all comes last and she will be just fine.
Do you plan on storing your generator with oil, fuel and fuel stabilizer added or will you drain it completely between uses? Do you also plan to use a battery tender to keep the battery charged?
I bought 4 5 gallon gas cans on amazon and plan on having those and my existing 5 gallon can filled and stabilized at start of winter. I have the generator on a sip of fuel that I used to test it. I plan on letting it run for 10 minutes every month or so. I will use the 25 gallons of fuel at the end of the winter throughout the summer for my mower and cars, then store back up in the fall.
I just received mine but I'm waiting for the electrician to install the transfer switch and power inlet box. What sort of circuits are you powering with the generator? I plan to do a microwave, fridge, box freezer, kitchen lights, toaster oven, coffee maker, master bedroom, master bath, office and hot water heater. The only one I'm not sure about is the hot water heater. It's 4500 watts but I plan to only run it during the night and only for a couple hours using a timer.
That’s pretty much the same load I have. Just make sure your electrician load balances your circuits on both sides of the transfer switch. I’d also make sure your circuits are properly labeled before he starts working as you will be paying him to do something you can do by figuring out what’s on all the circuits in your box before he gets there.

One of your replies gave you a good tip about the start button. NO need to hold it in until it starts. You might want to consider buying a couple of spare NGK spark plugs & after the engine is broken in switch to 100% manmade Amsoil 0W-30 synthetic oil.
