Thank you SO much! I think i need a new battery then... I will looks for the upgrade you suggested! Thank you!!!! 2015 is having a very similar problem.
Thank you for this video. My wife's 2016 X has only seven thousand miles and it's a bit damp where we are over the last two days so before taking it in or calling for a tow regarding the starter we will try exactly what you did. Appreciate all the info and have a Happy New Year!
Thanks man You are such a help!!!! My 2015 Honda Fit also made like brtt sound but usually started. This time it literally just died on the hill 335 cold cranking battery not even a year old.
@@Katana_00 In my case, Chipmunks got inside the wiring area to keep warm in the cold mountains and chewed the wires (Made a nest) . Honda replaced the wires and recommended dryer sheets--The little guys don't like the scent. Could also try taping the wires. No perfect solutions.
Looking at your video as I received a notice that the warranty for the keyless system is extended to 9 years. The key system light came on for the second time in 3 weeks. I did change the car battery about 2. Years. I own a Fit EX 2015 purchased in 2014.
less than 12 v for a 12 v battery tells u that the battery is weak already. if u have an empedance meter u can actually check the internal resistance of the battery.. the lower the better
I took my car to the dealership today. I'll give you further updates when I receive the cause of the problem. We need to gather all complaints because we'll all have to pay out of pocket sooner or later.
I had a mechanic claim I had an Immobilizer problem although He had my 2015 Honda Fit Fobs? He did not try to replace the battery. What's the scoop on this? Says I have to go to a dealership.
My car is having the same problem. Honda Fit 2015 the key light with the ! and WiFi symbol on dash. Thought it was the key fob. Had a new key fob programmed. Light went off for half day. Now it’s on again. Some times the car starts right up other times it might take 3-10 button pushes
Micha Oz change the battery even when I tested it showed mine was ok after an over night charge. The original battery is junk too small cracking amps too low should have never put a battery this size into this vehicle. Do the upgrade you’ll be very pleased. It’s also a perfect fit in the battery compartment .
TmkaRc1Hobby, LLC I purchased a new battery today and sure enough the light went off and now the car will start right up. If it starts acting up again I’ll let you know. Thanks for the advice
Micha Oz You did get the larger cranking amps battery? If your still having this issue wow so sorry. It’s strange this issue because the next step you would think would be the electronic module? But then again why would a new battery work for a few days then stop? Maybe the module connection is not making full contact. Honda I’m sure knows there is an issue should have been some type of recall on this issue . 😡
TmkaRc1Hobby, LLC I bought the 151 r battery. It would have needed a new battery soon anyways so that part doesn’t bug me. I’m probably going to have to bring it to the dealer
He was just talking on about some nonsense instead of getting to the point about the starting problem, he really didn't get to the point at all what happened but it's probably good for some one. Most of the time it's the immobiliser and the key which makes problems not the battery or the starter motor and Honda will lie to you to make money don't buy Honda
Would this have anything to do with why my car keeps needing a boost off, new alternator new battery , is the radio auto start has something to do with it !!??
Honda Fit 2015 has a extended warranty for this push button switch for free replacement as mine failed in about 6 years first intermittent then complete failure call dealer and they will replace it for free with updated switch my old switch was a -j2 new switch updated is a j3 also I installed a factory battery from a 2010 Honda Civic to replace original 340 ca battery , I used the battery tray from a Honda HRV which required no modifications whatsoever just plug and play no problems especially in cold climates
My 2015 fit the green light on the start button no longer comes on. And it takes half a dozen times to start. I replaced the car battery, didn't make a difference, but they only work for 2 years so it's the Bi anual battery change. Still don't work
I have the exact year and model for Honda. For the smartkey, I just replaced a dying battery with a new one and now it doesn't work. Not even locking, unlocking, or turning the ignition on. I'm able to get into the car by using the manual key, but I can't start the engine. The new battery still has juice b/c I see the red signal from the remote register. Now, trying to find out how to start the damn car.
Did you replace it with the larger amps battery ? Also there is now a recall on the starter switch button . I got mine finally replace for free even though they said it was fine.
2017 Honda fit as well. It started all of a sudden after the yellow ignition light would come on for no reason. The starter need to be push at least two or three times before starting. I'm concern it will not work soon.
I’m having the same issue. Replaced the honda battery from Auto Parts just a year and more ago. Now the car is having this issue. So i should replaced the battery then? My car have 30,000 miles
UPDATE: I took my car to Auto Parts after work. It turned out my battery was a Bad battery. Because I still had warranty on it they replaced my old one. My car is now back to normal running good no more clicking noise. I’ll update again a week after. But thank you for this video it really did helped me.
I bought a new battery and try to start the car and it didn't. I changed the starter and still didnt. I replaced the relay fuse and nothing, I checked the main battery fuse and it looks fine but stillt 2017 honda fit wont start 😢
Duuuuude ty so much!!! My wife’s car was doing the same thing we just upgraded batteries to the bigger one like u said and it’s firing up no problem. Appreciate you posting this video we probably would of ended up towing it to a dealership :/ You’re awesome thanks again!
M V I found out the problem, you won’t believe it , every time it happened I didn’t realize but my steering wheel was locked as soon as I unlocked it I have not had a problem since.
Dude, you need to learn the basics about the starting system, the charging system and how to check their operation. You can speculate all day long and look for supernatural reasons whereby you may have a bad main battery.
Batteries mean nothing folks. It would have to be the switch itself, or a fuse, or a control relay ,even a bad starter would attempt to start, but s bad switch wouldn't do shit at all. My accessories don't even come on. My button doesn't do shit, doesn't light up, doesn't start and won't turn on anything but the engine first. And it takes pumping the brakes, and 10 tries to start. That's gotta be the button. Even that light on the dash, it's vague at best, you can't tell anything from it. It's 2020, fuck mechanics and especially dealerships. Get a diagnostic code reader that connects to your phone, if it's something like a relay or a switch, grow a pair and tackle it and save yourself 900 bucks at Honda. Cuz you know if it's a 52 dollar switch you can buy online or at the auto parts store ,and 10 dollars worth of tools at the hardware store and an hour out of your Saturday, and searching RU-vid for a tutorial on how to do it. As long as you aren't getting under the car it's no biggie. Anybody can replace a car radio. So whatever the problem here it's not so bad to fix yourself. It's most likely electronic.
Nahhhhhh...... I got the same problem. Replaced the fob batteries and the car battery, nothing, don't make a difference. That wouldn't make sense anyway
