Thanks! Im an automotive tech, so im familiar with ujoint n driveline issues, but i don't really work on bikes. Bought an 07 gl1800 monarch 2 trike today, ride it 375kms home. But noticed a vibration under load, that i was like "oh... theres a ujoint siezing up." Only way to check 100%, unless its super obvious, (rust comming outta caps, intermittent tightness while rotating in neutral etc,) is to pull it out n move em around by hand.. then you'll feel the tightness of a siezing ujoint... anyways, that brings me here, how to remove the driveshaft, so THANK YOU! Bike is new to me only owned it 12 hrs so far... 😂
My dump truck has a small drive shaft going to the pto and the retainer is inside of the ujoint instead of the outside. May help on other bikes trying to save a few dollars.
who owns a trike? Not many people, so it's only good for them and not the rest of the world. can you pull the universal out at the front without removing anything else?
