While I was draining the old fuel from the gas tank I turned the ignition switch on to monitor the fuel level. The needle rose to just above half and did not move from there. Either the fuel level sender or the gauge is not functioning correctly.
In this video I remove, clean and repair the fuel level sender. It was in very bad shape! The lever was frozen in place. The whole assembly was covered in some kind of crusty schmutz.
I disassemble, clean and reassemble the unit. I calibrated it as well (unfortunately I lost the videos of this process - bummer).
