I just bought this one, I am waiting for it, I am a pro, and I just got sick of the Commercial Toro, I didnt want to pay 2k for a new commercial mower now 2022, Spending 900 on this mower and I hear good things about it.
Man let me Easz your mind you won’t regret it I put mines threw the ringer when I got it it had a carb issue but my dealer fixed it I wasn’t worried because as you know things happen because I pulled it out the box myself so just a small set back but this to me is commercial enough I mean dam anything over 5 inches it’s time to pull out the walk behind or zero but I’m on my 2nd year and starts every time light weight dose everything except side discharge but it comes out the bottoms in the rear! You will never buy a commercial one again because this will last just as long as the commercial one under half the price and I use it everyday because I’m in the city so majority of the yards are push mow so I used it on dam there all my yards don’t even use my zero it has 40 hours on it and it’s been 3 years since I had it I just been using the Honda and just bought a toro 30 to save a little time on my manicured lawns!
I just got one and it is indeed heavy. It’s my first self propelled and it’s weird getting used to turns but I’m Getting the hang of letting the clutch bar drop away on turns.
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer remember the cord of honda mower is soft if you pull with too much strength the starter rope there’s the risk that the engine can give the kickback
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer I know I wouldn’t, I’ve been eyeing it up for a few years now! But I don’t know if I can justify a third mower lol but I would have to find room for it
@@parkerk7018 Well, my suggestion would be to sell one you don’t need as bad. Pay that money forward to the purchase of a brand new HRX. Just a thought.
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer that’s very true, or whatever mower gives out first. I mean my neighbour has three mowers for no apparent reason, but there isn’t anything wrong with having more than one mower
@DawnJiang-kd6me I have the HZA model and honestly it’s just a preference. If you’re a older person that needs the electric start it’s a great feature but with the roto stop you don’t need to keep having to start the mower over so having the roto stop I feel is enough. Also I prefer the HYA/HZA for the hydro transmission it’s definitely the best by far
ive had 2 of those but older models both had same issue automatic choke needed new temp pellet but you have to removecarb to replace it but after that ran good started right up
@@nickc2124 I looked for several weeks for the HRX 217 HYA, to no avail, then I checked the Home depot sight and they had 16. so with the military discount I got it for 767 included tax. they said there would be no military exemption, however I pointed out that since I needed to go to Home Depot to pick it up then that should be considered In Store purchase, the nice lady agreed.
Just curious .. watching the video .. It looks like most of the time you are just pushing the mower without engageing the self propelled system.. Is that correct?.. Thanks .. and thanks for the nice video..
@@KirbyVacuumCollectorFixer Ok.. Thanks for letting me know. So it looks like it is pretty easy to push too.. That looks like a good way to do it.. Good to know that the self propel is there if you need it (like for hills)..
I sold my Honda HRX, as it's too heavy for hills. If you mow across the hill, it slides down and cannot hold a straight line for anything. The automatic choke has a replaceable part that goes bad, it's called a thermowax choke actuator. If you experience any hard starting that is a likely culprit. The part is about 10 bucks on Amazon. I like how quiet the HRX is, but all in all, my 18 year old 2 cycle aluminum deck Lawnboy is superior. The combination of a light weight deck and a powerful mower cannot be beat.
I have an HRX. Ive had it a year. I like it better each time I use it. You mow way too fast. The mower is heavy and very solid. I have alot of trees and you need to get into a rythem.
@@danseydlitz3218 Oh and sometimes I can’t help the fast mowing. I take big steps and it’s really easy to go faster than normal. Plus I like to get the mowing done in a timely manner.
What gas do you use???😁😁😁 if i can find one it will be my next mower. Getting older and hope the self propelled leaves me with energy left to weed eat😁 What Edger do you guys recommend?👍
alvaro f The weird thing is since the virus, Home Depot and Lowe’s took down all the more expensive walk behind mowers from display, but still sell them. I wonder why?? Home Depot has been selling Honda mowers for years, and Lowe’s just started selling Hondas earlier this year. A whole new place to get them at. If you go to the Home Depot or Lowe’s apps, you can order one from either of those.
Robert Rusie Awesome! Great purchase! I have mine set on the third or highest position as I’m a tall guy. It depends on your height and how you like to hold the mower. Let me know how it works for you.
