Very well researched video! Kudos to you from a 8th gen Civic owner. I'll add real life examples to support your points, 1. Most of the spares are imported. Hence, they attract high GST rates and inflate every year. Say in 2017, a hydraulic engine mount costed Rs. 7500 approx and as of April 2021, it costed around Rs. 13,000/- 2. Poor quality rubber parts. Say engine mounts, weather strips, door beadings fail prematurely leading to vibrations in cabin, water ingress and rust formation respectively 3. Low paint thickness. Hondas' running around coastal regions are almost rust buckets 4. Weak suspension. Most Hondas suffer suspension failure around 50,000 KM mark. They simply can't withstand the shocks of Indian roads 5. Poor fit and finish. Sheet metals have no stiffness. You'll hear rattles and squeaks at the early stages itself 6. Worst service. They are lazy, won't follow the maintenance schedule( At 40,000 KM or 3 years, you are supposed to change transmission fluid, clutch fluid, power steering fluid and brake fluid. They won't do these because they are labor intensive!) and will replace whole assembly instead of a single part. Honda service centers are just for replacing engine oil and oil filter 7. Poor technical support from Factory. They can't handle/stand a technical customer. They simply brush off the queries/complaints raised by you. Google, " engine mount problems in Honda Amaze." You will understand! 8. High lead time for spares. It took 1.5 months for a fuel filter to arrive. What's worse is that customer won't be informed about any proceedings 9. Generally Honda dealerships are deserted because of poor sales and no new product launches. Dealership heavily relies on selling spares and Value added services. High probability that they may screw up your car to achieve their monthly targets 10. i-VTEC engines are dead in the bottom range of the power band. Say my Civic produces 130 BHP@6300 RPM and 172Nm @ 4300RPM. Most users upshift below 3000 rpm and don't drive pedal to metal. Because of the weak torque in the low rev-range and the tall gear ratios, the petrol cars feel sluggish and are a pain to drive inside the city limits 11. Gearshifts 1-2-3 aren't so slick and feel notchy unless you shift at higher rpms (Even in Honda City 5G) 13. No innovation in power trains! 2019 Civic had the same engine of a 2006 Civic! 14. Severe cost cutting in core engine area! You know why Honda diesel engines are noisy? They use aluminum block whereas the 1.3 Multi Jet Diesel employed a cast iron block. Cast iron is known to damp the engine vibrations. Since vibrations aren't properly damped, the engine mounts fail early. Almost all Honda cars suffer from this problem. The OEM never admits this! 15. They tried to compete with Maruti Suzuki and miserably failed. After the exit of their JV with Usha International, the management took lot of foolish decisions by launching crap cars like Amaze, Mobilio, BRV. Ask any pre-2013 Honda owner, he'll literally curse the brand. 16. Launching cars with stripped down features but at exorbitant cost. In the advent of digital era, when people began to compare Malaysian/Thailand versions and Indian version, it left a very bitter taste. In India, once upon a time, Honda was perceived to be a premium brand. Remember the Civic, Accord and CRV in all their glory? They were unique, every one from teen to adult aspired to own one. Could anyone say the same about the present gen Honda India cars? No way! India specific cars won't work. All they need is to bring their global developments like 11th Gen Civic, Vezel and price competitively. But that is quite hypothetical, right? Honda in India, now feels long gone. Am hoping they will leave the country as Ford did.
100% accurate… Honda management is the most useless in whole world 1) Releasing civic diesel Manuel and petrol auto instead of opposite 2) Jazz is released without rear headrest even in 2020 facelift .. but gave sunroof .. they don’t know what is essential and what is luxury 3) poor bottom end torque in all petrol vtec cars … Their rpm at 100 kmph is 500 rpm more than even Nios or swift … 4) Soft suspension (in Civic, Honda city 2nd,3rd ) or stiff in 4 th gen city .. they never get the balance … 5) No turbo petrol cars at all … no innovation …. They make 1.5turbo for Thailand market but don’t want to bring it to India 6) released CRV with 1.5 litre diesel with 120 bhp …such a stupid move 7) Weak headlights in all cars below 15 lakhs …. Even in new Honda city V version their projector headlight sucks … 8) Their touch screen is really 3rd party stuff. Slow laggy with less features 9) Didn’t release Jazz with 1.5 vtec even when Ford Ecosport , breeze were all released with 1.5 … again such a gutless move … 10) When most manufacturers have moved to service interval of 10k or 1 year , Honda was still stuck with 6 months or 5k kms .. such a dealer centric move … Honda has to give up its ego and listen to customers … Otherwise what happened to Ford will happen to them … even VW has given up its ego .. Honda has to listen to customers and be brave in decision making
@@Dr.VishnuVardhan The only true VTEC sold in the country, The only car in which the VTEC really kicks in! Rest of the i-VTECs have variable length intake manifold that just changes the intake noise to mimic the effect. Hold on to it. The car is a gem!
Honda always comfort, smooth drive, spacious,but service cost is high..
நான் amaze 165000 ஒட்டி உள்ளேன்.long drive தான் செல்வேன். comfort safety reliable எல்லாம் superb. ஒருதடவை ஒரு குழியில் ஏறி இறங்கி tyre வெட்டி விட்டது. எதிரே பஸ் ஆனால் ஒரு அடி கூட விலகாமல் சென்றது. 100 percent safery.
I strongly agree with your all points bro, we own 2 honda city cars, 1 is 3rd gen manual, and another is the city 5th, gen ZX CVT. before booking the 5th gen, we had test drives with all other sedan cars in the market, but honda city is far better than all other sedans, that is why we booked 5th gen. and almost now we covered 1.65L in 3rd gen and 17k+ in 5th gen. me and my bro absolutely satisfied with the city, my friend own 2nd gen city. absolutely reliable. I got a chance to drive a honda civic manual once, that feeling is still in my heart and brain. But where the problem began Honda didn't release the honda civic manual in India, car enthusiasts never prefer automatic cars in India. This is where the honda civic failed. Honda didn't release any hybrid cars to date, the buyers today really looking for fuel-efficient cars. As you said, SUV trend. honda should have entry-level cars - Brio, Amaze, Amaze based sub 4m SUV [ petrol, CNG, diesel( may have )] Premium Hatch - Jazz hybrid Mid Size - City hybrid, HR-V Hybrid, Civic Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid Premium like - Accord Hybrid. Again, all they should localize, else they can't make it anymore. CKD, CBU won't work out further in India. Toyota also failed in the same way as honda [ almost ] As of today, Tata has got the total crowd pull. To compete with tata, Mahindra - all other foreign brands should see the Indian market as Proper Market, they should not think of us as a third-world country. Many of them say the tax is a problem, but I don't think so. When there are no proper upgrades, then other reasons will be added up for masking.
1st comment ❤️❤️👍👍 Positive:- 1. No compromise in delivering quality product 2. Good service support 3. Good sales support Negatives - They have to look on diesel engines upgradation.. idtec is always noisy, no turbo.. even if it's city or wrv or amaze we feel like driving a tractor ..such a mess nvh - They have focused more on petrol engines in decades - compact SUV is competive segment in current trend but honda fails to deliver by releasing wrv multiple face lifts.
I have 2 nd Generation Honda Jazz for 5 years , it Butter Smooth Engine with combination of steering , seating comfort with 5 people in board are happy with sitting space, Boot , Driver seat comfort and highways it planted at 120 - 140 speeds are simply awesome touched still feels like new drive .. it is Neutral car on combination of all with mixed feeling and fuzz free ownership !
Asir sir I always love honda cars super sir nice lecturer and brief explanations keep it up wish you all success 🙌👍😀 my support always there for ur channel
That's the Real technology of it as CVT has two belts that rolls to increase or decrease the steps. The rubber band effect will be felt and modern gearboxes try to minimise the effect
@@motowagon Honda CVT transmission have one steel belt and two pulleys one is drive pulley other driven pulley. Depends upon speed and torque both pulley increase and decrease size, you will not feel any shift shock while drive Honda has best CVT technology.
I bought Amaze CVT as its Jerk Free unlike AMT, Spacious Cabin importantly 4 Star safety. Later what i discovered is pure COMFORT. Even driving 100+ Kms inside city, no tiredness unlike my previous car. If you look for Comfort, Honda is the Answer
Clear cut analysis. Well explained. Appreciate your effort. I already started oscillating my mind towards Skoda Slavia from Honda City. Can you please do SWOT analysis on Skoda?
Wow next episode is here♥️ I love your videos. Even though this is not a podcast I like to listen to this like a podcast meanwhile doing my night shift work😜
I have a positive as well as negative on Honda. Positive: 1. Sunroof on every Honda car. 2. 1.5L i-Dtec diesel engine is great on performance as well as efficiency and fits on every Honda car. 3. Practicality is good. 4. Diesel CVT is nice in Amaze, should give an automatic option for City and WR-V. Negatives: 1. No Diesel in Jazz. Because of no Diesel sales are low. 2. 1.2L i-Vtec petrol feels sluggish to drive, not as 1.5L. 3. No Civic and CR-V. Should give them in both Manual and Automatic.
Hi motowagon..... I had a desire to buy new jazz..... But saw that jazz is no more available from November 2022...so dropped it........ Now I planned to buy urban cruiser or new brezza........ I prefer safety...... Could you please suggest.... I am from kanyakumari.......
Hello motowagon ,By last month we plan to by volkswagen polo but they don't have diesel options executive said that BS6 standards dont have diesel option. But tata, mahindra, hyundai, honda having diesel in BS6 standards.we want to know why volkswagen cant provide diesel in BS6 kindly give presentation like this.... Thank you,
Hi motowegon fam, I seen many negative comments about Honda cars peoples don’t know what’s Honda. Every manufacturer has negative points on customer perspective reality is you will not get 💯 % satisfied cars in market. Honda is currently 4th largest manufacturer in the world selling cars in 150 countries globally they never closed their business in any country. Honda produced all types of engines you can seen motorcycles, automobiles, power products, marine engine, jet engine recently they developed F1 race engine they won championship 2021. Honda means power of dreams that dream was started from the man Mr.Soichiro Honda still continue… Don’t think Honda will closed in India like Ford, Remember Honda Activa is a most selling scooter in India.
I am a huge fan of Honda 5 years back. Now it's all gone bcoz of their product line up. Features also very less compared to other competitors. Eg : Jazz and WRV doesn't have proper seats for rear passengers.
Video quality is getting improving brothers, then 5 star car ila nu sola mis panitiga then last rate also a threat nu soluveganu expect panuna then nega vara vara neriya video's make pandrathu ila ,i m saying like cars videos ,so car video i m expecting many
Bro next week we are getting the delivery of Hyundai venue s variant and selected only after your video 'Venue vs Sonet'. Thankyou for that video Asir sir
Hi Asir Sir, planning to buy Jazz VX variant. Everyone says it is a good car. But most of the people around me do not buy this car. Need to get to a conclusion on this. Should I go on to buy this car even if it is not a car with high sales? Please let me know. Testdrove it and felt it is superb. But sales numbers are not supporting my decision. Please help me with your inputs. MW family can also put forth their points. Thankyou.
How long do you plan to retain and drive the car? Is this going to be your primary car? Checkout my other comment in this video. You'll know who I am. If you wish to have a conversation, you can reply back.
Good analysis team, much appreciated! I have few questions, answer me if possible. 1. You haven't mentioned about HRV model in this video, do you think it won't come to India? 2. Sales trends are not good, would they stop manufacturing in India (like Ford)? 3. RS model cars exist in global market, hope they will come with RS models during this year.
It all depends on how they pursue India as a market, For them the constraint is definitely not the technology. I think the management of honda India needs some repair in their thick skull.
Is there any chances honda will shut down their market in india like ford did? I am planning to buy city in next few months . Will this affect the buyers?
High probability that they will shut shop. 3 rounds of VRS in their single factory and heavy losses too. Checkout my other comment in this video and decide for yourself.
Hii, am fan more for honda, plan to buy Amaze, but also in mind tigor, if possible pls suggest. if spares/after sales service cost expensive in honda ?
▫️Motowagon channel are doing an excellent work in RU-vid regarding vehicles. ▫️ I think motowagon team are coming out with different strategic ideas according to customers expectation.💥 ▫️Thank u for delivering hidden informations regarding cars. ▫️Congrats for motowagon team👏💫
Brother, why even Honda City door handle making knock sound while open but in Tata low end models doesn't make this sound? Honda showroom executive told it is due to magnet action. Which is reliable?
Hi Sir, I am looking for good automatic car within 10l budget sir. My usage is city for most of the times and long trips (200 km) every two months. I am the beginner in driving. Could you please suggest which will be suitable for me.
Honda cars are good handling vehicle and especially city is comfort off long drive and peaceful drive, the driving cost is little high in Honda service center but same parts same oil will using in near garage its cost is 50 percent less , parts not easily available In out market only in boodmo online site , every pars are cost is high but good quality 😀.
Sir I have a doubt for a long time?? Do a car company example like Honda, they will design all of their car from its Main Headquarters and manufacture the cars or the company will design car according to a particular region and manufacture the cars??
As for as India is concerned, Hyundai has R&D in Hyderabad, Maruti Suzuki in Rhotak, Haryana, Mahindra in Chennai etc. . To gain the correct Market space, R&D centre should be in the same market they are focussing
Well, Researched Analysis Super , Kindly Do Ford SWOT even they exit market also What Opportunities they missed , what Threats they face for exit market Has Ford Fan i am asking for all ford lovers...Dedicated to all ford enthusiastic fans ...we miss ford ....
Asir sir...indepth analysis 👍hatsoff..in my opinion ,one who is going to buy a new car has to definitely concentrate on these type of swot analysis which will give a clear perspective before buying a new car..congrats once again for bri ging an interesting YT VDEO for tamils.. TQ ASIR SIR.
Last point is soo true... peoples now started to think of buying Indian brands...nd the same strategy is taken in hands by the Indian manufacturers.Global leaders like Honda,Nissan, Volkswagen, and others should make a strategy for Indian markets, as we people always look out for most value for money products, which is happened in success of magnite.
Honda brand image as a manufacturer of sedans has for led failure of their attempted SUVs/MPVs be it Brv , Wrv or Crv. Plus, Honda always goes for ambitious pricing with their cars. But, one thing which Honda always does well are the base versions of their cars. The base variants of their cars be it 4th/5th gen city and Honda Wrv are very well-equipped and VFM.
Sir ,city is a fantastic car.Great mileage, absolutely trouble free, very spacious andgreat value for money.Yhey need to bring in more models in the SUV space.
Toyota should maintain its standard and bring RAV4, Corolla cross with Toyota DNA and hybrid options to sustain in Indian market. Else people can directly buy Maruti-Suzuki instead of Suzuki-Toyota cars.
i am using Honda Jazz for 5 years with same usage , Pl go ahead and buy , you will never regret in life , I am Happy User of Honda for 5 years Cheers !
Great Analysis. Honda forgot to update in a great market like India. Great brand but with poor strategy. It was real that consumers have moved towards SUV and also consumers has began to shortlist TATA cars because of sentiments as it is Indian made. But However the reality is TATA still source their diesel engines from Fiat, uses Harman for Infotainment and using Land rover platforms for their SUV's and they don't have good petrol engines too. However they succeeded by using good strategy as Made in India brand. We as consumers should not go by sentiment, we should go for the best among all. Many may disagree on this. But sadly this is the reality. Go for the best car🙏🙏
I agree with this, The emotion should not be the deciding factor but how good the product is, If every consumer goes by the indian emotion then it leads to monopoly by Indian brands only which creates the problem in innovation and won't be healthy competition anymore.
In those days FDI ( Foreign Direct Investment) was not possible. It was only possible to enter into Indian Market with the Joint Venture of any other Indian Home Grown brand
Pls do car comparison in a same segment cars..from a buyer perspective we need to compare with same segment cars..if you guys do that in seperate series it would be helpful for us…i don’t see any tamil channels done that before
So, amaze diesel is not worth buying because of high NVH noise levels ? Also, I am hearing mixed honda car ownership reviews about honda Services' cost. Actually, is that costly or cheap? Also, please suggest to me that it is worth buying honda City 4G at this point of time since 5G seems high on price point ?
@Gentle Throttle Thanks for the reply. Then can I buy Tata nexon petrol or breeze 2022 version ? As per my usage will be 1K each month ..So I thinking petrol call will be sufficient for my use ..also I heard that tata nexon is having 3 cylinder engine but it has turbo..but still it create a high NVH noise levels due to 3 cylinder ..also turbo tech is new to us..so not sure about long run ..can you please suggest which car can I buy my budget is 10L ex showroom and I am expecting a car with following things safety, comfort and milage
@@sathya2468 Vitara Brezza is a decent car. I'll any day choose it over the Nexon. To feel more unique and special, you can have a look at the Urban Cruiser as well since it's a Brezza underneath. And Toyota's service centres will be less crowded than the Marutis. But, expect the spares (non-moving say evaporators, alternators etc.) to be priced atleast 30% more than the Maruti. If you aren't so obsessed with mileage and resale value, Nissan Kicks 1.5 basic variant starts at 9.49 lakhs. It is the ultimate in ride quality and tough build, barring the lazy sales and service network. Why I don't recommend Tata? Their products are inconsistent. Say, in a lot 100 Nexons are produced. The accuracy level of each cars varies to different degrees. One car exhibits different problems from the rest of the batch. To simply put, the Quality Control of Tata Cars is always poor. Fun fact is that even my mother was able to spot a misaligned bonnet in a Tigor parked as a display vehicle in the showroom. When this is revealed to the sales personnel, they had no idea what to react! Don't worry of the new turbo technolgy in general. You should be worried of it when incorporated inside a Tata but not in a VW/ Skoda. If I recall correctly, Skoda introduced Turbo petrols in 2008, I guess. I own a turbo diesel swift since 2009. Have driven it close to 2.8 lakh KMs. No injector/turbo failures till date. You should strictly adhere to the maintenance schedule of changing oil and filters because the same engine oil lubricates the turbo too! My only gripe with Maruti Suzuki is their action to decrease stiffness in their sheet metal body to reduce weight and increase fuel efficiency. Can't blame them though because of the inflating fuel prices. They may be ridiculed as Tin-cans but their reliability levels are unmatched. This is the single reason that Toyota has partnered with Maruti Suzuki. If you consider vehicles which has run more than 2 lakh Kms, 90% of them will either be a Toyota or Maruti Suzuki in India.
I would recommend to buy Honda diesel only when you drive a lot or love to drive Diesel engines. You should not expect any performance from the diesel or 1.2 ivtec though the latter is smooth. Service cost is higher than MS, on par with Hyundai and cheaper than VW.
Bro awesome, bro your continous speech ❤️❤️❤️ 🎉🎉🎉🎉 and one more information for you as per government norms one more variant going to come soon in indian car markets. we are in under process but in public i cant tell directly bcoz it will affect my carrier.
Ppl in Delhi and NCR are using older City with CNG and it is running perfectly with minimal lag in performance as compared to any other cars. And when ppl are not buying many cars, introducing a CNG variant doesn't make sense as there will be options from Maruti especially below 10 lks which will affect Honda's CNG sales
Nice presentation. Gives a clear opinion about the engine and body of the car. Nothing is exaggerated. Expecting SWOT of other brands like sqada Volkswagen etc.
Are there chances Honda may exit from India like Ford considering the low sales numbers and the fact they have shutdown one manufacturing facility as you mentioned?
@@motowagon Toyota or Honda will be able to bring international products which are prevailing now but Indian consumers are cost oriented with compromise on quality , Camry Hybrid and Accord Hybrid are very good quality cars but unfortunately even niche buyers are buying the same .
Great presentation!!! It's very clear that your team did a deep research on this. My sincere thanks to your entire team for revisiting the history and telecasting the most reliable car manufacturers in India HONDA!!
You have made an excellent analysis about the Honda cars which is what exactly I too have exactly similar views to share. Honda Motors are always behind the times and the trend in vogue both from the market trends and from the buyers' perspective. I'm of the conviction that unless each manufacturer has a flagship DIESEL model to satisfy the taxi fleet, the commercial volume of a car manufacturer is bound to take a hit market-wise. In fact, if you take Toyota's market strategy, they built first their solid base with a DIESEL model in the form of Innova which gives them a very good volume sale in India. On the other hand, to save their high brand image, they stopped manufacturing their hatchback model Liva and also their sub-9lakhs sedan namely the Etios, which was mostly preferred by the taxi fleet owners. Toyota didn't like a taxi image for their sedans in India, but they cleaverly introduced their 7-seater MUV, Innova, which greatly helps the company in terms of sales volume while they are concurrently maintaining the premium-brand image by seller ng their sedans like Corrolla Altis & Yaris. That Honda didn't have a proper cleaver strategy by introducing a diesel powered 7-sester model to compete with Innova to boost up their (Honda's) sales volume. Honda's petrol engines are highly refined ones while they are yet to succeed in developing a refined diesel engine for commercial drivers. As a whole, Honda has been proving not adept in sales stratergies. And Honda has to think about their future sales strategy lest their existence in India shall face a serious threat soon enough. This apart, Honda must soon enough release an electronic model without which their survival in the fast-changing Indian market will face a jeopardy.

Honda not giving importance to rear seaters... Why honda having bench seat without adjustable Headrest for the cars like jazz, wrv, amaze.. Honda need to rethink and manufacturers value for money cars... Honda should manufacturer cars according to indian people expectations, value for money cars..Otherwise Honda could be next ford... Somehow Honda city car helps honda to run biz in India..
I disagree with you on Pricing. Honda’s are sensibly priced compared to 1L over priced CSUV cars. City V has all the top end features and still priced on par with Sonet! Almost all CSUV are over priced.
Very nice analysis with so much info 👍 At present i own an Spresso AMT as my first car. My next upgrade will be definitely Honda Amaze whether it's market will be there or not in future.
