It's like Honda wants you to get pissed off and aggravated. And then have to go to the dealership to give up your first born child just to fix a key fob. They don't make replacing the battery easy. This was so helpful. Thank you!

Lifesaver! Thank you! I wonder who designed this rubbish in the first place. I've never had any of my other electronics fall apart by simply changing a battery and I'm almost 50 years old! Considering that I had to replace both wire harnesses on my new Honda Pilot after one month of ownership due to electronics glitches, i certainly won't be a repeat customer!

Exactly what happened to me just now. Glad this was the first thing that I found when looking up “2020 CRV Key Fob Assembly.” Dumb design that the whole thing blows up when you try to replace the battery. Argh!

Other videos made it look so easy to change the battery on this keyfob. Unfortunately, the battery would not come out easily and the entire keyfob came apart. This video was great in helping me to put the keyfob back together. Thank you so much. I just had to acknowledge your help in this instance.
Omg, ty, I thought it would be so simple to simply snap back together and I watched a couple other vids that didn’t show how to put back. I thought I damaged it when I removed the battery when the little pieces came spilling out on reassembly. And I had the key in already, too. It’s easy only when you know how! You saved my day!! I was ready to drive to the dealership. Wonder if they know. Blessings!!

3/3/23. That was good. Nice to find this video, Zea. Why? Following another video for battery replacement or checking, I inserted a small screw driver between battery and the clear plastic layer to get the battery out, but the entire plastic came up and all the pieces you show above, all fell out, astonishing me. Then I laid the pieces out, and visualized how they had to fit, then put them in as you show above. Thanks.
This video is effective. I was able to reassemble my 2019 Honda HRV key fob. Before I began I thought the fob was a complete loss. I hope Honda begins to make key fobs that don't fall apart.

Thank you so much for this video---saved me a lot of aggravation and a trip to the dealer😃-what was really maddening though, was the old battery on this fob as well as our second fob (which I also recently replaced) both tested good so don't know why we were getting the warning to replace these batteries!
Thanks! I replaced my key fob battery and unfortunately all the key buttons fell out. I almost had them all back in and together but your video assured me and helped. Too bad I broke the very top part of the "HOLD" key diverder/plastic part, but it was only the corner and it seems to still fit and work. Probably should have watched your video before trying to do it on my own LOL. Nonetheless, you helped a lot. Not just me but many others. Took me about 4 minutes. Thanks!
That’s awesome. I learned today that there are more pieces. The little switch that releases the metal key came out on mine. It’s three pieces. Two black plastic pieces and a spring. Do you know how to put those back in. Thanks!
