@wilsonperdomo5800 Yes, motor and transmission use same kind of oil, but filled in two different places. Transmission under the seat and engined under the bed.
Guess I messed up. This is my first SxS. I changed the engine oil and filter and the dct filter but I don't think I took the transmission plug out. Didn't realize there are separate drain plugs. It has less than 300 miles on it so should be okay. I'll know the next time. What confused me was everyone saying the engine and transmission oil is the same. I thought they meant when you drain the engine oil that it also drains the transmission.Reckon they give you an owners manual for a reason.
Engine oil and dct are the same you replaced the subtrans fluid if you read the manual the sub trans oil should be replaced every 2 years regardless of milage . The oil filter and dct filter should be replaced every engine oil change since it uses the same oil the sub trans is 4wd high low and reverse and for the guy with the mobil 1 question mobil 1 does not have friction additives for wet clutches you only want to use oils specifically for powersports
The two 12mm drain plugs go with the two filters one for the engine one for the transmission. the 17mm drain plug is for the sub transmission which i dont believe has a filter. I could be wrong but thats my understanding of it.
The dct filter has nothing to do with the sub transmission. The sub trans is a transfer case for low range/ highbrange. You change the dct with engine oil. You are spreading false info
