Hey guys in this exciting episode I finally get my exhaust welded and the outcome sounds really nice! I would like to thank Steve from Steve's Mechanical & Performance for welding the exhaust. Music - Tidewarp Snowblind
I guess the inner rice in me loves the big muffler look over this one but the tone of the twin loop is amazing! subbed! can't wait to get another prelude I miss her
Sounds great not like most Honda exhaust. No gaudy muffler like a coffee can. Clean and simple. I'm a muscle guy who absolutely loves Honda. I had a fourth gen lude that was quick as hell. I never drove a Honda before that. Then I had a VTEC v6 Accord 2005 black with gold emblems. You can't beat the economy, reliability and the fun factor!
So glad i bought this! Last guy who owned my lude made a mess of the exhaust system, so im going all in on a full 2.5" system. Headers and all. Going with a vibrant resonator and no cat. Cant wait to hear it
Can I ask if you're still driving this car, and if so how you feel about the muffler? I'm thinking of buying the twin loop from x force but I'm worried that after a year or so I'll wish that I'd bought something louder
Could you possibly send a link to where you bought your muffler from? I can't seem to find the force twin loop only the Mugen, and I personally like the sound of yours better.
Do you have any suggestions on a nice full catback system that isnt obnoxiously loud like a skunk2 but a deep sound and loud enough to hear me flying by, im thinking of the apexi n1 or ws2 but ive been told they leak? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! (I'm on a mission to make my prelude really jaw dropping for a 15 year old car)
Mugen twin loop, only problem is their hard to find and very expensive. If u can't find that get a twin loop by OBX some 2.5inch piping and a high quality high flow 2.5inch resonator and go down to ur local welder and get them to welded it up for yah.
True I had a civic before my prelude and it sounded pretty bad but i like how my prelude sounds its just not loud enough. I'll probably get 2.5 inch piping and find a good muffler with a dual tip just because i love how the dual tip looks on this car. Nothing a custom exhaust shop can't do. Thanks for the advice Forged Garage
that's not really true. I've got a 97 base model (us) with type s pistons, and cams. I put a magnaflow muffler on the stock exhaust, stock header and it doesn't sound "tinny", and it doesn't have the fart can sound either. if it did, I'd cut the exhaust off! I got the magnaflow when I went to the muffler shop. I was originally going to get a flow master. and the guy told me not to, because they DO sound like that. after hearing a prelude with a flow master, I'm so glad I didn't buy one!
no body Ive recently been thinking that im gonna cut out the resonator and put a pipe in, then cut out the muffler and replace it with a magnaflow or flowmaster. If i do this then ill do it myself since im cheap and ill be using epoxy metal to hold it together then fiber fix heatwrap to keep it secure. I just really want this car to be louder because its just so quiet but i dont have the money for a full exhaust system right now...
Last owner got it from Honda and don't get the ones from eBay after 2-3 months they start to fade and become yellow, there's a video on RU-vid about this, look it up.n
I have never seen someone pull the torch away from stainless while it was still glowing red... must be running low on gas lol what the hell is post flow
He didn't take out the cat or the sensors, he just swapped the piping that comes after the resonator so the sensors and cat are still there and he shouldn't get any sort of CEL
EREYSUN had mine go out cause I was slammed and hit something bad honey comb in the fastodle cable was bad was idling like at 4 k changed it and idle is completely normal now
+Cam Brown Well i just wanted something that would sound louder than the original but not crazy loud to piss off the neighbors. So i went on the look for a exhaust i looked on RU-vid and forums and most people went with a Mugen twin loop cat-back system or a replica, so i bought the replica twin loop, its almost the same (as in sound). and I went with 2.5inch piping because the Mugen Cat-back system was 2.5inch too. all i need now is a resonator but i'm contemplating whether i should go with a 500mm or a 400mm. The 500mm will make the car louder from the stock one but not much louder and the 400mm will make it way louder haha, The struggle.
I going to order obx twin loop soon and I have a straight pipe now with apexi ws2. So I'm also going to try twin loop straight pipe, just for the hell of it. What resonator are you going for?
you're confusing a type s, for an sh type. they are very different cars. since you mentioned the type sh, I'm assuming you're in the u.s. the type sh in America has the exact amount of horsepower as the base model. the type s (jdm) is 217hp with 11:1 pistons, and the cams have more duration. the sh, is the same 195 hp as the base model. the only difference is the active suspension(sh)
