El motor es bastante normalito, una versión apretada y más grande del que usaba la CB750Four de la época. Lo subieron a 1000cc, le pusieron 4 válvulas por cilindro y quizá el escape sí es más especial.
Sounds great, maybe the fist 'modern' sounding (race) inline-4 bike, not the low chaotic grumbles like the CB750R and earlier bikes from the sixties, but a cleaner yet throaty whine, typical also for the late 80s early 90s bikes. After 2000 the inline-4's became so smooth they sound more like sewing machines or turbines, culminating in the super smooth S1000RR.
