Brief install vid for remote start of your Honda ruckus. I don’t know if the wiring is the same on all models, but i suspect that each model is similar.

This just happened to my husband's ruckus :( currently trying to repair.

Would by chance know if we will need a new wiring harness and ignition if those red ignition cables were cut or can we just use butt connectors

As long as you have a secure connection to the main wire from the harness, you can extend the wire using the butt style connector. You’d do much better if you soldered a wire to it. I’m assuming you’re asking because they’re short wires now, correct?

If you want to still use the ignition key, and they didn’t damage the ignition then yeah I don’t see why you couldn’t still use the ignition. If it’s damaged, then you’d of course need to replace it. I didn’t want to replace the ignition or look for the connector…. My route allows you to use the remote in lieu of a key.
