Use a JIS screwdriver to unscrew your screws and avoid striping one or more. JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard), all of the screws that people think are Phillips screws are JIS screws. JIS screws don’t strip like a Phillips does when using a JIS screwdriver.
Just put the same intake on my ruck and wow its soo much louder now , i also have a yoshimura pipe coming soon and already im kinda questioning the noise level lol
If you have any bogging or hesitation issues...shoot me a comment back. I can give you some tricks to get it dialed in perfectly. I had some problems with that intake set up. Jetting may not be correct also since you don’t have an exhaust yet. All that depends on where you live and sea level in your area.
thanks man, no bogging issues luckily, but I definitely need to tune the jets, I can feel it isn't quite right! I'll be posting a test ride video next weekend 👍
oh shit I literally just installed the same seat frame and similar cover from cheeky seats. that carb screw is a big oof. may do what you did and swap mine out too.
IMO YES get an new air intake. The exhaust is worthless with out extra air coming in. In fact you might even losing performance do the the lack of back pressure because of the exhaust.
Awesome video. One question, please. I've heard you should do the intake only at the same time you do a new exhaust. Is this true or can I run the stock muffler with these modifications (jetting carb and intake install)?
Yes you can install the TVR intake without an exhaust . I just received mine yesterday and installed . TRS suggested I use the 38 main and shim the needle . I did so and performance wasn’t quite up to my pre install . So I installed the 78 and I’ve slightly increased my top speed and low end is substantially better . By slightly adjusting the stack in and out , 1/8 in. or less you will find the sweet spot . This intake is loud and sounds like you’ve added an exhaust . And if you’re planning on keeping the rear fender you will need to purchase or fabricate a support . I have not found any info on removing the PCV valve so it’s still hooked up , would I recommend installing the TVR intake ? Yes Definitely .
