I'm looking for a bike myself, and coming from a family that has the left, right and centre its hard to make a decision. One thing for sure is that I want a cruiser. My uncle has a Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Nomad. And that is what I'm aiming for the future. Brilliant review by the way!
Totally agree with the comments on here, if you've got the money to spend you cant do better than a 2003 shadow 125 with dual silver tail exhausts my only criticism would be the very low ride height and cost - for the price you'd pay for a later model with low mileage ( approx. £2000) you could almost get the 750cc version with three times the bhp.
I learned to ride on an intruder 125, as I wanted a cruiser and not a sports bike and then after my test I bough a Vulcan Vn900 Classic and had it restricted to 33 bhp and then after 2 years had it removed .It is surprising that although the Vulcan is a hell of a lot bigger than the little intruder how similar they are to ride.I know they are not made anymore but if ever I have to go for a smaller bike again I would definitely try and find a decent little Intruder .
brilliant guys thanks for that been looking at getting one of these this video definately helps. which did you find most comfortable. the suzuki seat looks better but never sat on either (yet).
We think the Honda is more comfortable but it's a close call. Good luck with your choice of bike but I'm sure whichever one you go for you will be happy. Thanks for your comment m8 , we are chuffed someone appreciates our honest review.
Not to contradict the riders, but I wohld say the Suzuki is more comfortable however that’s a friends of mines opinion, but if ur looking for witch one to buy I would say the intruder 100%
Watched this video at the start of December as I was going throught my CBT in January was wanting an opinion on an intruder so buy one last month and just looked at the video again and just spotted that I'm the new owner of the intruder in this video lol smal world
I rode a 125cc shadow for years Best learner bike there is in my book. I now ride a 750 shadow after trying my hand with kawasaki ninjas and pan european for different styles. I didn't own them for long but gave me time to realise that I am a cruiser rider
The Suzuki has a non stock exhaust by Max Torque Cans. Cheap but effective for a bit of fun. You are spot on as the Honda has the factory fitted job. Glad you enjoyed the review!
HI. Is overall size of those two bikes comparable? (I saw Honda Shadow 125 live) I am looking for Suzuki, because it's cooled by air and for its exhaust sound with cutoff pipes. :-)
Hi Oliver. The back box of the exhaust is from Max Torque cans . Gives a nice throaty growl for a 125 engine. Other than that , it is the way it was the day it came out the Suzuki factory.
Tunareanu Vlad I’m just over 6 feet and I found it very comfortable to ride . Check out one of my other videos when I take it out to the country and back . One of my last outings and a great ride !
The shadow is quicker as its a V twin, the Suzuki is single cylinder with a fake casing to make look like twin! The shadow was my first ever bike and currently looking for another, loved it! Great video guys!
Chris Darling sorry dude, the vl125 intruder on this vid is a true v twin with 2 cylinders. I own one and have changed both gaskets myself. It is unusual for having a single carb to feed both cylinders but they definitely have 2 of them!
