The Cub was always quietly high on my list and my only hit against it was the small fuel capacity. I was correct as I find myself filling up at the beginning of my shift and then having to top up at some point later. Other than that it has been justifying it's reputation.

I had a Monkey before the Super Cub and it did have a more comfortable seat and it got a little better gas mileage (plus I think the Monkey looks better than the Cub). I just hit 1500mi and it’s performing fine so far. The lack of clutch hasn’t been a problem but the 4up shift pattern is kind of annoying. I did carry 75lbs worth of drinks yesterday, the rack setup handled it without a hitch. I love being able to park in little nooks where cars can’t and being able to turn around on a dime more handy than people realize. Delivering in my car is just annoying now.

There is a converging point in town where all of the delivery drivers eventually end up a few times per day, traffic there gets congested because of the delivery drivers.... now I just zip past them all sitting there waiting. As the day goes on, I'll run into the other drivers elsewhere and they've been coming up to me to tell me how awesome they think the little bike is. As bikers, we see this as a no brainer,... but this is a new thing to the locals here and they don't realize that there are millions of delivery riders around the world. This is why selecting a non intimidating bike was an important consideration. Since first impressions are important- I have to make a good one as I am serving as most people's first social interaction with a motorcyclist. I might have to do a video on this topic.

​@@UncleVoodoo Non intimidating is something I never considered until you mentioned it in your video. One of those things that are obvious once you hear it, but most of us wouldn't think of. And the Cub is just cute. I've been working on getting a bike forever but my wife was always against it. But the cute little Monkey was the key. She is okay with that bike because it isn't intimidating. Maybe I finally got the courage to ride for the same reason, that Monkey bike is just so dang cute!

I like the Cub so far, the only real complaint I have is the small fuel capacity. The shifter takes a little change in mindset to use properly which seems to be the source of a lot of the grumbling I see from other YT creators. I may do a video tutorial on it.

Working fine so far, just wish the cub had little more storage space. I’ve seen a front rack for it but I have no idea where or how to buy one.

its a good bike for beginners due to it's ease of use but at only 125cc it has some limitations when it comes to keeping up with faster traffic once outside of city streets. A 400cc or so super moto as about the best all around bike to learn on as it can do just about anything well where sport bikes aren't great at lower speeds and on imperfect roads.

My first ride was on a Trail 70, I miss those old bikes!

The Super Cub is "ok", I like it but I don't love it. it's a quality bike, it's doing it's job well and it's not junk.... but I liked the Monkey better. The Monkey had a whimsical quality to it that matched it's small displacement. The lack of power seems more annoying on the Cub where on the Monkey it seemed like part of it's personality (if that makes any sense). That said, the Cub has been a hit everywhere. Clients like it, customers like it and I am now the envoy of the other delivery drivers (they say so). The number of people approaching me to compliment on the bike seems to be about equal to the Monkey. Ive had elderly ladies walk up to talk to me about the bike, so my strategy of getting a "friendly" bike is working. I'll be doing a follow up video reporting on how it's working out, pretty much saying what I just said here.

Doing it as a side gig is the best way to do it, that's what they intended the job to be. Im just kind of taking it to the extreme but Im set up to do so. The 'Cub works great for such things, the CT125 would be fine too. I just had to choose between them and would've picked the CT if I didn't need the slightly higher top speed.

they've each got their strong points... the SC is faster and looks nicer but the Trail has easier access to the engine for maintenance and a rack standard.

It's been working out great so far. I did get an order for 3+cases of soda (75lbs) that had me worried but the 'Cub pulled it off. Im working Lynchburg today, that'll be an hour each way through the mountains plus 6 hrs of running in bigger city traffic. We'll see how she does.....

I actually had to move the Super Cub to a backup role.... turns out that since I drive a Prius - after tax credits on the car it's actually more economical in the long run. The bike is less expensive on out of pocket costs, but the car catches up and passes it at tax time. A less economical car wouldn't beat the bike though.

Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them. (19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).. God said : Say, “We believe in Allah, and in what was revealed to us, and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and in what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We do not differentiate between any of them. And to Him, we surrender.” (2:136 / Translated by Community) Salam (Peace) ----

Thanks. I need a body cam or something to make recording videos easier. It’s easy to do in car ride alongs but on a bike the audio either comes out terrible or I have to run inconvenient cables and tend to batteries. I’m kicking around the idea of getting an Insta360 Go2 to wear for POV commentary and splicing it with a fixed bike cam footage and see how that works out. Kinda costly experiment though.

I'll be doing updates on the bike and my delivery setup, as far as pricing goes... I have to use different strategies for the different cities I run in, so its pretty dependent upon the area you're in. I base my strategy on how many runs can I do in an hr and how much I feel my time is worth per hr. I can easily average 3 runs per hr. For the smaller cities I take any run in the city over $4.25 (that means Im getting at least a $2 tip for a short run). If I have to go out of the city limits I bump my price up to $7 ($5 tip minimum). So I make a minimum of $12/hr but I tend to average $18-$25/hr. In the big cities I charge a minimum of $5 for short runs an $10 to exit the city (and I don't accept any shopping orders in large cities). Here my minimum pay is $15/hr but tend to average $20-$30+ per hr.

Its still in its break in period and I’m trying my hardest to stay below 50mph right now…. that said, I’ve had it over 65 once so far. The only real downside I’ve encountered thus far has been it’s small fuel tank.

Max speed on a flat with no windage is a consistent 53mph (which equates to 50mph due to the 3mph speedo deviation). Cool racing stripe jacket. And I sure hope no jackass goes to bush whack you on a delivery. If they do make sure you say "I'll make you famous" before you show them this 🔫

Yup. I had to explain to my ex boss that I wasn't there to give up my free time to put his kids through school while getting paid peanuts. I said I was only there as a temporary cog in his machine, and that he and his machine were nothing more to me than a means for me to use to the end that I see fit, not the other way around. I used the last few years of mandatory over time to pay off all debts so when it was time for me to walk... there was nothing holding me back. So now I'm self employed with no bills other than the cost of living. It feels great.

And what problems did you run into fastening it on? I started riding Honda Cubs over 60 years ago, in Japan. There, they put on a cargo rack that works. I wouldn’t call the Monkey a money waster, but it was basically a toy as opposed to a business asset. There are better options for a bike to use as a delivery vehicle, such as the Super Cub.

The ADV or PCX would prob be fine, but I had a few considerations that steered me towards the Cub instead. 1. The rack setup for the Cub sat level, the racks for scoots appear to be slanted forward and I wanted to keep the food and drinks as level as I could. 2. The maintenance on the Cub is easier. Scooters are a pain to work on, belts would only last me a month or so due to delivery miles and liquid cooling adds to maintenance cost and complexity. 3. With my phone in use at all times I needed an external power source, the Cub had a plug and play option for this, but the scooters put the port in the glove box so they require hole drilling or wiring modifications. There are a couple of downsides to the Cub vs the scooters- The scooters are a little bit faster. Any sniff of an uphill incline or headwind and the Cub can’t maintain its top speed. They also have larger fuel tanks, but this may be a wash though as the Cub gets a little better fuel economy. The under seat storage would most likely be pretty handy too as the Cub’s only storage is my delivery box. Personally, I’m trying to target a more upscale clientele so the retro/classy look of the Cub gives it a friendly presence. It has actually worked out better than I expected and has been a smash hit with the customers.

I was really tempted to get the Vespa GTS300 but fuel economy and frequency of maintenance killed it for me. I did notice that Uber Eats seems to have a no motorcycle policy and limits scooters to only those 50cc or less. Strange.

I have to preface that I live in the mountains so I have to deal with a lot of hills- Mine is a 2021 model and in perfect conditions it will max out at 62mph in the flat. I do run a 4 mile stretch of 4 lane / 55mph road regularly and the only time it can't hang with the other traffic is when there is an incline or headwind- it drops to 45-50mph when facing those. If the 45mph road you mention with the 1.5 mile stretch of 55mph... has no hills- it should be just fine, although a headwind can drop you down to the high 40s or low 50s.

They just say “JCMA” on them, i got them from webike. i had to slide the head all the way to the end of the stalk to get them wide enough. They’re nice but I wish i got the 100mm version vs the 80mm.

The 'Hoss was my 2nd choice, I only went with the Cub because it had a nicer glove box. lol.

I actually like the Smart Key better than I thought I would,.... until it fails, then ill be cursing it! I did install a battery tender lead so it can be jumped/charged in case of battery failure. A kickstarter would be nice but I can confirm that the bike can be push started if need be.

Trust me, I felt like I took my dog to the pound when I let the Monkey go. :(

Sorry for the late reply- I leaned toward the SuperCub due to it's higher top speed. I often have to make fairly long runs on roads where surrounding traffic is doing 60mph+, the SuperCub is the better choice in that arena. The only real advantage the Trail 125 has over the SuperCub is the rack, and that was something I could resolve for a couple of hundred bucks. Where speeding up the Trail would take considerably more money... not to mention cutting into it's fuel economy, longevity, warranty, etc.. Bringing the SuperCub's cargo capability was just easier done and more cost effective than speeding up the Trail 125. For carrying pizza in the red bag- it's as simple as it looks... just put the pizza in the bag and strap it to the top of the delivery box. I use this method for a max of 2 pizzas and for short quick runs. Larger orders and longer runs go Inside the box itself. This requires removing the take out bag and drink carrier, which it why I use the smaller bag on top when I can, and only rearrange the box when the order size calls for it.

I believe the average Large pizza box is 18" square, so I would need a bag for that size, but like the pizza bag for just one, or two. Are you picking up a lot of pizzas on football Saturday and Sunday? When I drive for domino's during my college years, I made a killing in tops on those days. I always had sports radio on and was a fan of the team the house was showing off,, except the Raiders,, lol.

@@Winterstick549 I actually do quite a bit more deliveries of fast food and meals from restaurants like Applebees than I do pizza deliveries. Most pizza places have their own delivery setup so I only get like overflow from them. I do have to be prepared for them though as I get 1 or 2 pizza deliveries per day.

The straps can't move on the Packer straps due to the width of the pizza bag keeping them in place. I also run the straps through the handles of the pizza bag, that way the pizza bag can't slide forwards or backwards.

The Trail was $100 more to buy, but after all accessories the Cub was $100 more to outfit if I accessorized them similarly. But for that $100 I got a 10mph top speed advantage over the Trail.
