I watched pretty much the entire video and only after reading the comments I realised that this is not a very big channel (yet). The quality of the content is great, the important and genuine info that one can get from a long time owner is invaluable. Thank you for creating such great content, I hope to see this channel grow and be able to give better and more detailed, in-depth reviews of bikes as well as other gear & accessories.

Just saw this. I own one right now and am enjoying it a lot. It’s been an amazing bike. My experience with the bike heat is different- I have ridden the bike in peak Bangalore traffic with shorts and enjoyed the ride. So not sure of the heat aspect shared here. But I agree- the bike is amazing

The interviewer was just not interested in tubeless rims. 😅 every time Abhijit brought up that pain point, Sriram brushed that aside. I was curious to know how's the Outex working for him.

Im really glad that you guys made this video. I booked my trans alp this week so its like a perfect time to watch it. I have a couple of things ask, 1. As I booked a black bike should i stick to the dunlop tyres or should I ask for metzellers? 2. I stand 6'5 tall and I weight about 100 kilos, if possible suggest a good rear shock (preferably which increases the seat height) 3. How did you convert your tyres to tubeless
@OpenAdventures
@OpenAdventures Месяц назад
Thanks Vishaal. 1. Both tyres are equally good and Honda doesn't really give you an option. You get the tyre based on what colour you book. 2. This is an ongoing discussion on the Transalp whatsapp group, however no one has concluded on a third party suspension setup yet 3. The conversion was done with Outex

I just have one phobia... Coming from Honda Hness owner, transalp has tube tyres. If I get it for adventure touring which its made for, then tube tyres make me re-think if bike gets a puncture it would be a hazzle to fix. I know there are ways to do conversion to tubeless but reliability comes into picture. Any light on if one should worry about tube tyres in 2024 for adventure tourer bike would be very helpful. I know 800 de has same setup. Looking from perspective of adventure tourer and not offroad adventurer. Some off road is expected though not crazy ones. 😅 Loved the podcast. Have listened to other videos as well with NX500 and transalp vs 800 de. 😊
@abhijitt_murugan
@abhijitt_murugan Месяц назад
It's a valid concern that you have. Unfortunately the only option is to swap the rims or get an outex conversion done. If you don't wish to shell out that much another option is to get a thicker tube.

@weeabooartzz1695
@weeabooartzz1695 Месяц назад
@@OpenAdventures I will ask why not in India, there are a lot of expressway and highways in India where it can used. Even on my R15 I can maintain 90-95 on the highway easily.
@OpenAdventures
@OpenAdventures Месяц назад
A lot of us have not been able to maintain a constant speed for more than 30 seconds given our traffic conditions, road conditions, stray dogs, cows and people (Yes. Even on highways). So we don't really see the point

@@OpenAdventures I don't about banglore but on my recent trip from Delhi to Banaras there were alot of stretches were one could use the cruise control and no people or animal were there atleast in my trip. Plus it's an adv tourer. So I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of such roads in India where you can maintain 100-120 kmph. But surely can't neglect the animals and people on the road.

I've heard a lot of indian reviewers that the bike heats up and they get cooked, damn, the weather and the traffic out there must be terrible, indeed, the bike heats up in heavy traffic, but on mine, the fan comes on at about 105 degrees, and i didn't feel any heat on my legs, not even in 40 degrees celsius when i was paddling through traffic.

I'm from Bangalore as well. Had taken the test drive for a pretty good distance....on the road to Devanahalli airport. Turned back at Yelahanka. Didn't feel any unpleasant heat. It was mild warm air...when in the city waiting at signal. On the move even from 1st to 2nd say around 20-30kmph the warmth was no more. The traffic was pretty bad for a Sunday afternoon. Took me 1 hr and 15 mins almost to be back at the showroom. Out of which 40 mins spent in city speeds. Surprisingly noticed that even though I was in 4th or 5th gear in many places, speeds were just 20 to 40kmph. Mileage showed up as 17.7 when starting...in the end it was around 18.8 or 18.9
