Honda Transmission Slipping FAST/EASY FIX

Jen's transmission in her 2004 Honda Civic started slipping real bad and then became un drivable. I looked up the P0700 / P0740 codes and it seems replacing the trans is a typical solution. Let's pour some diesel in it instead and see if that fixes it. I wouldn't recommend 2001 to 2005 Honda Civics. This one is junk in comparison to the 1996-2000 generation imo.
I also ordered this filter amzn.to/47LZaxn to put on the cooler hose and help capture crud in the system.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!

Hell yeah, nicely done. Good call on checking the pump flow. This is a great illustration of the difference between most folks who just remove and replace stuff and a guy who understands how things work and doesn't immediately discard them when there is a problem. Cheers from Chicago!

@@NNKH2 man this shop makes me no longer wanna run away from owning a shop so much so it is nice and must feel good to work in such an environment. Thanks for your video. I do have a 2003 accord v6 with the same symptoms but no codes. The amount of metal I found on the magnet almost made me wanna give up immediately. It slips from 2nd to 3rd gear. I was wondering what that pump whose hose you backflushed is called so I can try to locate the same one on my accord for inspection. I replaced the forgotten filter in mine as well the Drive solenoids and I am now about to replace the oil cooler that is sitting on top of the trans. Please let me know

That's crazy how effective that was. Thankful to older Subarus for having an external oil filter style can filter on the outside. I don't think my programming would allow myself to put diesel in a transmission.

@@KarReviews You need to inspect the output speed sensor. It might be going open when it gets warm. Check the wiring to it as well. If you replace the speed sensor and it still has the problem, the transmission has an internal problem.

I'm sure you have seen what happens when someone puts power steering fluid in the master cylinder and it swells all the rubber in the system. The same thing happens when you put brake fluid in the transmission. That's an old used car lot trick. I have seen used transmissions that have sat so long and the seals dry out and a cup of brake fluid will make it work.

It's not quite the same, but I had a Suzuki King-Quad 350, and it had a mean whine in the trans from 3rd thru to 5th. Somebody recommended I put MotorUp in it. Wasn't too keen, but I thought it might be worth a try. Called the MotorUp "helpline" who said, "Yeah man -do it - it'll work". Lost ALL drive, FWD and REV. I suspected this would happen, as it shared the engine oil with the trans and clutch. Had to flush the entire thing out with gasoline, and then refill it and let it sit overnight filled up with gas. After the third attempt, it functioned again, and was fine to drive, but the trans was still noisy. Sold it for $1800, and will NEVER use MotorUp again. Diesel might have been a less aggressive option, but, hey, it was already buggered at that point. Cheers for your work. Gonna try it on my mate's Honda Jazz.
