I did a road trip in 2023 on vezel 2014 model from karachi to Lhr to Isl to lhr to karachi. Total 3950 km driven. The overall average this car gave me was 16.4km/L. Yes the AC runs on hybrid battery bcz when you park your on P (idle) mostly engine got shut off and a/c runs on battery (ev) Regards, Azhar
Vezels engine is not Atkinson cycle. The fit and grace engine is similar but they are Atkinson cycle and port injection. Vezels is direct injection Otto cycle hence more power than grace and fits engine.
Econ Mode ka koi fiada nhi hai and try to not use it in Motorway, its a personal opinion though i feel like turning ECON in motroway stresses the engine i mean the performance is compromised.
After doing 1400 kms trip, here are my thoughts about econ mode. 1. It increases fuel economy by reducing air conditioning (you can feel the difference) and reducing the throttle response. 2. Car switches gear early. Which is good when driving in the city but can be a problem on hilly areas as it puts more strain on gearbox & engine. 3. On motorway driving, I didn't feel any excessive load on the engine or performance being too much compromised even when trying to accelerate. But while driving in the city, the car takes a while to downshift while accelerating.
On long trips, the benefit of hybrid is minimal as most of the time, the engine is driving the wheels. The only benefit hybrid car gives on high speeds is the Atkinson cycle of its engine.
We change cars on a regular basis. Even though we kept sportage for quite a while and it is still our top pick for under Rs 10 million cars. We sold it and bought 2013 fortuner which unfortunately I couldn't review.
