It is a little-known fact one in every five courses in Scotland are made up of only nine holes. Going back generations, these short-form layouts were at the heart of villages and town, the lifeblood of the community where people could gather and enjoy a game for all levels of ability. That remains true today across the rich tapestry of Scottish golf’s cloth.
