This is the review of the Harbinger M200 BT and Harbinger M100 BT Portable PA Systems available at Guitar Center. The links are below. M200-BT www.guitarcenter.com/Harbinge... M100-BT www.guitarcenter.com/Harbinge...
Great little system. I did some experimenting and channels 5/6 on the M200 will run the 2 1/4" line inputs, the stereo 3.5mm input, and the stereo BT input at the same time no problem. So technically you get 6 channels here (albeit only one volume for all) for a total of 10 input channels in this mixer.
I went to GC just before the pandemic to get a small PA for my neicr's wedding. I listened to a bunch of Harbinger's powered monitors and I wasn't impressed, even at much higher prices. Then, on a random whim I listened to the M200 system. I thought it sounded much better than the powered options, with cleaner highs and smoother but more robust lows, and it was lighter and more portable to boot. I was also able to run it for several hours at high levels off of a Jackery portable battery pack. I think it's a great kit.
Hi thanks for the review, i purchased the m200 yesterday and am trying to figure out best quality mic for doing standup comedy night with this system in a venue similar to the one you're at (60 to 90 peeps) and making sure i have the actual set up of cables/cords correct lol.
You will need some speaker stands. And if you are looking for a mic that can take abuse the Shure SM58 with an appropriate length of XLR cable for the mic to be able to walk around.
@@HowTosandReviewswithDan thanks again Dan and do you have any thoughts on the vocopro uhf 28 dual channel wireless mic 🎤. I have 2 that I had from back in the day that haven't been used and was wondering if they would give me what I needed. Thank you
@@bigrichbrockcomedy7337 It depends on the frequency of the microphones because a while ago the Ranges for frequencies changed on microphones. The FCC allow for certain frequencies and it might be illegal to use them if they are on those frequencies. See www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/operation-wireless-microphones. If the microphones work for you then use them. But if they are within those frequencies on that website it would be best to find a new solution.
As mentioned, it includes a graphic equalizer, but can I add any effects like reverb for my vocals? For example, if I’m running a mic on channel one, can I add reverb?
The way the system is designed you may be able to use the 3.5 mm out to run to the sub. However you would need a powered sub with volume control. The system really is just designed to run the two mains it comes with.
I don’t know if I would use this for DJ’ing events. You should look at getting the Harbinger Vari 2312’s. You will need a pair but they are powered speakers and put a lot more boom into the room. You will also need a sound board to mix it all. I did a video on the vari 2312. The m200 BT and the m100 BT are good beginner/entry level PA’s. It is great for small rooms and acoustic sets or a two piece band that doesn’t want to spend time learning in depth equipment. It is an easy set up. You are probably not going to get the level of db your looking for if you are going to DJ as a side gig for weddings and events. However this is a great small set up to cover a ceremony or back ground music for an event or even a person speaking in a small room. I hope this helps.
Hey! Would you say that the m200bt would produce enough low end for like smallish practice space including edrums? Or would some sort of 12" system be better for that?
This wouldn't be the system I would do that with. You could but you wont be happy. You would want to buy a digital mixer that can multitrack or an audio Interface device. I like the Behringer X Air XR18 18-channel Tablet-Controlled Digital Mixer. Found here: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/XR18--behringer-by-air-xr18-tablet-controlled-digital-mixer You can control it with a laptop or a Tablet and it Multitracks. Also they work great for live mixers however it is not a powered mixer. You would need to have powered speakers for live performances. I would pair it with Harbinger VARI V3412 12" Powered 2-Way Loudspeaker. Found Here: www.guitarcenter.com/Harbinger/VARI-V3412-Powered-12-2-Way-Loudspeaker-1500000393455.gc However if you are just in the your studio and are looking for playback options and not live sound mixes a good cheap pair of reference monitor speakers will work or headphones for that matter. Hope this helps.
Nice review!! I have owned the M200-BT for a while now probably about a year and I must say they're still pretty good.. I've got a question though; Do you think I could use these speakers with another kind/type of mixer? Or would this be limited only to its own Harbinger mixer to work together with the speakers?
You could use these speakers with any sound system as long as you have an amp (power amplifier). The amp will need to be rated to be powerful enough for the speakers. The mixer that comes with the system has a power amp built in to it which is why the speakers work. If you have another power mixer you could use them with out an external power amp.
Thinking about a PA that can broadcast karaoke from an ipad ans a couple mics. Will the bluetooth mix with mics? Does either have a reverb feature for mic inputs?
I don't believe they do but you could purchase a Xvive P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply. I haven't tried it yet but there are other devices available. Found at: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/P1Pwr--xvive-audio-p1-portable-phantom-power-supply
How can you add more speakers and monitors besides the two speakers? If so, where is it in the mixer? Or is it on the back of the speakers as an input and line out? Thank you!

@@HowTosandReviewswithDan I have a gig coming up which has a medium sized auditorium 60ft x 60ft? I did a sound check today from the line out on my laptop (REAPER does RT audio processing) and it was perfect for my application. I did not even need to crank it up all the way. I will be doing LIVE music mixed with pre-recorded audio this week at our vacation Bible school for the kids. I will use this in my home studio for AV production after next weeks field test with the youths.
