Chinese in 1894 had a Navy that they had built and modernized. There was much national pride in believing that they had the best navy in Asia and were ready to compete on the global stage, but underneath all the shiny hardware were a system of corruption and nepotism. Japan on the other hand also were going through modernization of its navy but it followed strict professional protocol of western militaries. Again, on paper China had the strongest navy in asia and foreign observers predicted easy victory for the Chinese in 1894. By the end of the first Sino Japanese war the Chinese naval fleet that the nation had pin its hopes on were completely annilated by the Japanese. Chinese signed Taiwan over to the Japanese as retribution in 1895. History repeats itself?
The first thing China learned from century of humiliation is “ technology “……. You are wrong at comparing a rising power like PRC to a declining empire Qing Dynasty ….. and wrong again at Japanese strict professional given these scandals of making up numbers for years……. If you wanted to compare Qing Dynasty to any country, USA is a perfect example as its corrupted and is a declining empire…..
That was not China in 1894 you talk about. There was no China. That was the Manchurian empire! Not chjnese! Anyway. O my western Taiwan was part of the Qing Manchurian empire.
@@kjc6272 what you said is 110% ridiculous. It was the Chinese people’s nation at the time. The Chinese simply bought Western military equipment, but Japan bought the equipment and ingested it’s way of war. The entire country of z China knows of the 1894 war and it terrifies And still humiliates them. They signed Taiwan over to Japan because of it. China Carrie’s its ancient history like a ball and chain; nepotism and corruption. “The defeat by Japan in the War of Jiawu was not merely a naval defeat or defeat of the army but a defeat of the nation.” Good luck to China if they go to war in this new era of history. They will need it.
The UK info is very sad. The US really needs a strong UK. They are our brothers. The UK and Australia have had our backs since WW2. Korea really can’t help us. If their military leaves to help anywhere the Rocket Fatman will make his move. Come on UK! We’re rooting for you.
The United States uses a lot of English companies to keep their defense industry viable . The English are Americas cousins, they are some of the best soldiers I have ever served with in NATO. Their main problem is high taxation at home due to the number of social programs and the number of illegal immigrants forced on them by the E.U. Witch are all on the dole before granted asylum or deported. They will make a comeback.
AKA: Russia was not completely prepared for a war they thought they were ready for. But through all of history Russia has always sucked at the beginning of a war and it always takes them a long time to prepare so who knows what will happen
I have never seen such a load of rubbish in the comments section it’s only matched by the rubbish in the video. It verifies the OECDs claim that American education comes halfway down the list of the best educated countries
Isn’t ships “launched” and ships “commissioned “ different? As in launching means getting the ship into the water for trials and commissioning means it becomes apart of the active fleet and ready for deployment? Or is that just how the western militaries do things? If I’m misunderstanding that then someone let me know I genuinely want to know.
the Navy is only as good as those people who operate them. I don't think PLA can manage to produce new crews in such short time to operate those ships.
This up info is not true I don’t know where you get your information from, for instance they have the world’s first laser projector for shooting down planes and drones that should be equipped in only five years… you should make a video on that
