Honest MEGABUS TRIP Review! 

You sound like such a pleasant traveler. I feel like everyone always finds something to bitch about lol

I don't even know where to begin! I took Megabus from St. Louis to Chicago roundtrip. The Megabus was 1.5 hrs. late leaving St. Louis and someone was sitting in my reserved seat. He was nice enough to move. The driver was speeding and swerving and the top deck ( where I was sitting) was swaying and bouncing with every nook and cranny in the road. I white knuckled it the whole trip!! Terrifying!! An infant was squealing for what seemed like hours and several people were talking very loudly for HOURS on their phone. Coach.usa charged me twice for the same trip ( another issue in itself). We hit construction coming into Chicago and we arrived 3 hours late! Going home from Chicago to St. Louis was even worse! I decided to forgo my reserved upper deck seat and opted to sit on the lower level. OMG!!! I sat in the section on the right side of the bus which is lower than the left side. There were four seats facing each other and between the four of us passengers and the carry ons, we were like 4 sausages stuffed in one casing!!!!! Someone was smoking so much weed that I got a major contact high!. The stinky smell from the bathroom was overwhelming. This bus driver was speeding so fast we arrived an hour early in St. Louis!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE MEGABUS IF YOU ARE CHUNKY OR OLDER THAN 50 !!! (I'm both) lol Amtrak from here on out!!! Safe, comfortable and affordable.

Megabus is the great for well seasoned travelers because you barely deal with anyone else but the driver. problems arise when the trip doesn't run smoothly that's a disadvantage for Megabus where as greyhound have stations to help passengers on site but it's a more elaborate system in place. so what's good on Megabus isn't good on greyhound and vice versa.

I just rode it this morning and got here in Cincy. Great ride, nothing went wrong. Looking forward to the return trip. You hear a lot of how the lowest take the bus and how you'll meet such people on there and the like. It depends on a lot of factors but Megabus remains the low cost alternative to flying and riding the train.

I rode the Megabus for the first time from Toronto to NYC. Arriving NYC was on time (5 minutes late). Coming back to Toronto 2.5 hours late cause of a snow storm in Toronto. There is a Toronto bus station for Greyhound and Megabus in downtown.

Ride Megabus in the UK a lot, find them to be good, easy to use, brand new coaches, always enjoy using them, keep up the good work,

i'm italian and i took the megabus from Orlando to Miami back in march 2017. Nice and cheap ride = 3$ each person

Greyhound probably needs to take some notes on why many like megabus. Also perhaps you didn't know but Greyhound does give you option of printing your bus tix at home. Just get an email with a pdf file and then print at your convenience.

The Mega Buses that I know of don't have bus station waiting room. Mostly curbside. New York, Chicago, Atlanta

I'm going to San Francisco and this is so much helpful because I was really hesitating going with megabus I'm more relaxed

I rode the Megabus once back in December/Jan of 2012-2013. I went from Washington DC to Nashville, Tennessee. The only problem I had was I was left outside a bus stop bench somewhere past 10pm at night for almost two hours. The bus station was closed and I was downtown somewhere and was scared to walk alone. Another problem I had was I was stuck inside a bus station for 3 hours. No food places except a vending machine that only took cash. But they did have free wifi and a plug in.

How are the stairs on the MegaBus and how much leg room is at the very front of the bus on the upper deck? How fast is their WiFi? How are their prices if you don't manages to get a cheap fair? I'm just listing off some questions. I'll run more by you if I come up with any. I'm wondering if they improved their crossing of the boarder.

I tried getting tickets with Greyhound and got screwed on locations, time, and everything (their website does not work at all) so i took Megabus to travel like many times before and got so much better accomodations. I got ROUND TRIP tickets with Megabus to go from Charlotte to Orlando, and it was half the price of Greyhound's one-way straight there. (4 tickets from Mega vs 1 Grey) By price, quality of travel, professionalism, and standards, Megabus is what you want. I hope Greyhound starts realizing that they're borderline swindling people. No wonder people are taking the Mega more.

I use to work for DHS/TSA, I was wondering if the Megabus Stations have some type of Security Check for Passengers and or Luggage?...I am Just Saying!...,God Bless!

Would it be via, greyhound or mega bus? Also which service would be safer as I have heard some pretty crazy greyhound stories.the cities I will be visiting as well are LA, San Diego, San Fran, Las Vegas and Santa Barbara

Biggest thing with Megabus is if you can plan in advance, you'll get the best deals. I just booked a trip from Durham NC-Atlanta for Mid-October for for $8.50 r/t

Looks like they just totally revamped their Web site. Not sure if you knew, but Megabus is included in Google Maps' transit directions (along with Amtrak & Greyhound). One time my bus from Albany to NYC didn't come for 3 hours & it was around midnight but I think I got a refund for the ticket.

I'm considering taking Megabus from NY to Atlanta (although my real destination is Alabama but I can make it work). I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble to book multiple tickets through Megabus as opposed to just one from Greyhound... this video definitely helped . Thank you

Do they have Handicap seating ?

Greyhound doesn't have reserved seating, but they do sell priority boarding. I paid extra for it online, but when I arrived at the terminal there was no special line for priority boarding. I had to ask a guy at the terminal what to do and he told the driver to let me board first. I thought it was kind of a hassle, so I won't buy it again. If they had a special line for priority boarding or if the driver would call out priority boarding before loading the bus, then I might purchase it again. All you need to do is arrive at the terminal a little early to be one of the first in line.

Yes it's common that you'll see people on the reserved seats who shouldn't be. Still, you never know if the seats were reserved or not so some are probably doing it even knowing that those are reserve seats just in case they are available. They are basically playing the lottery.

So are you going to change the channel name to MegaBus Master?

I'm planning a trip from Fort Worth, TX to Houston, TX in November and can't decide if I should use Greyhound or Megabus. I've never used either service and really have no idea what to expect. I guess my question is, which would you recommend for a bus rookie like myself? I'm also a big guy in terms of height and weight, so that plays a big factor as well. I am glad for assigned seat. When I was waiting on a Greyhound this person that was behind jumped in Friday me. I was holding my infant daughter. I stud in like for 2 hours. Had to sit on the floor with my daughter and someone in the seat asked if they could hold my daughter. I sat on the floor for 2 hours. Bad experience.Flash back making me upset.

You can reserve seats on Greyhound, and the disabled elderly board first, then its by boarding number.... I like Greyhound for short, cheap trips.....

I didn't know Megabuses had aides, I always thought they were only on school buses.

They actually moved in January to another location in Orlando

I hope that all bus systems are planning on a post-Pandemic ridership. This pandemic will end and ridership will explode. People have been stuck at home for over a year. All bus companies need to pre-pare for a huge ridership explosion.

Megabus sucks, they left me stranded in Chicago, then I had to go to Grayhound, which is also terrible, I had to wait five hours for my bus, I seen people sleeping on the floor... This was in Chicago btw. Amtrak is way better.

I assume you could try other buses besides Greyhound. There are lots of buses to take.
