Isabella they put on bb cream as base whenever they go out. Most korean men or younger korean men started putting bb cream for better tone on their facial skin. I like it but I am too lazy to do it. I am 39 lol
This is inspired by the novel Demian, with the theme of loss of youthful innocence and temptations. Notice the covering of eyes/ blindfold, symbolising lies. The eating n drinking, partaking of temptations. The statue with black wings represents fallen angel/ evil. V is the tempter, the fallen angel as seen by the scars on his back. When Jin kissed the statue, he gave in to temptation, thus the smirk on the tempter’s face. Note the white door vs black door, statue of devil vs angel in various backgrounds. The painting in the opening scene is also about fallen angel if I’m not wrong. So the running theme is light vs dark and our choices.
Nice explanation. Because adulthood is full of temptations and when you are young you are pure and naive. If you see on the first clip, the young line (jk,v,jimin) are with paired with someone from the oldest line (Jhope,rm, suga) except jin, whose is the oldest, looking the painting "The Fall of the Rebel Angels" . I love that they wear makeup. It’s very normal for idols (really any stage performer or performer in general) to wear makeup as it finishes whatever look they’re going for and helps them to be seen on stage. They don’t wear makeup all the time obviously, usually just when they’re doing official events, shooting for a photo shoot or video shoot, etc. Jungkook actually likes doing makeup himself. Honestly, if he ever made a makeup video, I’d watch even though I don’t wear makeup myself (I don’t have the patience or the skill). Edit: I forgot to say why I love that they wear makeup. I love it cuz it destroys the typical western image of masculinity which needs to go, and they just all look so beautiful with makeup how could I not love that they wear it. BTS using makeup for performance and entertainment needs. They don't use makeup in their daily lives. They also have acne. And when they are puberty, sometimes their acne looks worse or more. But they have good routines in treating and cleaning the face. Besides that there is something magical about Korean makeup style. The makeup style there is natural and hiding the pimples well. So that acne is not a big problem for them.

Basically Jin didn’t kiss himself. The person with the scars on the back is V. V is portrayed as Icarus. If you haven’t read Demian basically it’s a story about a man named Emil Sin Clair. Emil struggles to find his new self-knowledge in the immoral world and is caught between good and evil, which is represented as the light and dark realms. Idk if you realized this but at 2:50 when it zooms out there are two doors, one is black that represents evil and one white represents good. Jin portraying Sin Clair being caught between good and evil. the statue represents V when he had wings, the scars on V’s back are the wings he lost. When Icarus flew to close to the sun his wax wings melted and he plummet to his death. 9:56 represents when Icarus plummeted to his death as you can see the wing particles in the air. I'm a fan of rock music and rockmens also often use eye makeup, it gives character and in the case of boys with BTS adds perfection. And then, he saw the black wings statue so he walk to it without hesitated. Like he has founded something he lost and he kissed the statue. Then, the wingless guy sitting there turn around and has a little smile. It means like Jin's trying to make deal with evil (V, the wingless guy) So he unleashed the devil after making deal. This song is inspired by Hermann Hesse's "Demian". Okey so it's just my theory but Jin is kissing a scalpture of an angel, Taehyung is in this MV a dark angel who lost his wings because he was tempted by a devil. So Jin is kissing a fallen angel who represents lust and sin. So this whole song and MV is about the dark side of humanity and adulthood. Adult life that is something completly unknown and scaring but also appealing for a growing teen. It's about greed that leads as to bad things, which are tempting and dangerous because when we enter the dark path it is really hard to go back. Sometimes we fall even without reasising it. I don't know if all my assumptions are right but I hope I explained some of the things to you :) And about make up thing. I'm aware that most of guys don't wear makeup and find it weird but I think everyone can do whatever they want. I think it's obvious that most of asian guys looks better in make up than western guys. it's just something in their features. As a makeup artist myself, there’s a thing that I wanna say about guy wearing makeup. Everyone has to wear makeup (at least foundation) especially for the music video or film. The reason for that is because the camera can see everything including any imperfections on your body and it will look 10 times better when people have makeup on. Korean have their own style of makeup, and wearing makeup is part of their (idols) job. I saw some people noticed the makeup on BTS members and seemed a bit confused to them. I would like to tell you that guys wearing makeup in front of the camera is common and normal, even in the western country. The differences are every culture has their own beauty standard and trend. This video and the lyrics was describing the fall into temptation and giving in to evil. It falls under their storyline as the turning point. And regarding the makeup, they look hella hot with or without it and yes we as females find it attractive. It's actually not a big deal. I even convinced my boyfriend to borrow some of my tinted moisturizer and lip stuff, his lips were always chapped and now he's happy. He's not less "masculine" with lip balm on lol.

To answer your question at 8:55, i think what you're referring to is known as (broadly) Art Direction. It is exactly as you described: a strategy (or rules) to being able to convey an idea, theme, emotion, etc through the design of your work (colors, graphics, props, lighting, etc). It has many applications in film, tv, art, design, etc, but for something like the MV, I can tell you for sure that BTS/BigHit have some bombass Art Directors and Designers which listen to management, the members, etc to get an idea of what this MV should be all about and go about finding the best way to execute. People go to Art and Design schools for this type of stuff, but I'm sure you can find some stuff on YT or SkillShare to at least get the fundamentals down and then dig deeper into an area of interest. You seem to have a real interest/passion in that and I can tell that you're struggling with some of the actual vocabulary simply because you just don't know much about that world (yet). Digging deeper will help you actually analyze and give you the mental tools to breakdown what you're seeing. Basically, it'll take you from "It looks so good! How does it look so good?" into actual analysis and understanding. Good luck!

They are performers, they wear make up for performances just like actors or people in front of cameras.The make up is done by professional make up artists before shows. They don’t wear make up in daily life only while performing or for photo shoots.

Idk when makeup was declared as an only-female product, but personally I think they look really good with makeup so I'm absolutely fine with guys using it ! And they don't really do makeup themselves even if they can. It's mostly only for shootings/interviews/meetings etc.... Anyway, Blood Sweat & Tears was inspired by the book Demian, it's a really good psychological book I recommend it ! Also, I don't know if someone already told you, but BTS have a storyline running through their MVs !
