SNSD’s ballads are so touching. They are very emotional and have such beautiful meanings. But there is just something about their older ballads that cannot be explained. The rawness, less processed vocals, and harmonies just creates a magical atmosphere.
SNSD is just one of those rare group that is pretty much A class in everything. They are not S class in dancing nor vocals (excluding TTS)... but nobody can deny that when they sing together, it's magical. Their music, their sound, their choreo, their visuals, their individual personalities, their collective vibe when they're together talking smack and having fun with each other... 15 years later, I've yet to come across another group that is so unapologetically themselves as much as SNSD have been. How many "reality" shows have they been part of? GG goes to school, horror movie factory, hello baby, dangerous boys, soshi tamtam, etc... Spanning over a decade, never once have we seen any inconsistency in how they act when the cameras are on or off. This is why SNSD's legacy have lasted for this long. They are not acting cute, they are cute. They are not acting poised, they can't keep it together long enough. They are funny, they are clumsy, they are savages, and they're not afraid to show it. They will always be SONEs' forever legendary dorks.
Well, in all honesty.. there is no such thing as an "S" grade group in KPOP. No one is perfect and not everyone's singing, choreography, or even direction in artistry is someone's cup of tea. The whole point of Girls' Generation was to compete w/ rising boy groups and to give the Korean audience their multi member girl group, suitable to anyone and everyone b/c again, everyone in GG is unique & different.
GIRLS GENERATION ballads just hit you differently. They're simply beautiful, their discography is unmatched and their angelic voices sound much better live. I feel snsd jp discography is a 10/10 really their music there was definetely the best of best , all the songs are perfect! AMLIFY is my favorite from all of GG songs. This song is still in my phone playlist since the first time it has been released. And you're right it has similar vibes to "Halo" from Beyonce especially for the rhythm of the drums
