To be honest, the lyrics for SNSD's songs were always fun and realistic. My fav would be You Think, The Boys, Hoot, and Mr.Mr.

Everytime the music changes, the perspective changes too. The song is like a back and forth between the girl who is whipped after finding a boy and others who are constantly questioning her behaviours, giving her advice and what not. It's a girls slumber party in a song.

I knew I destined to be a pinkblood since I liked this song on my first listen when IGAB just released in 2013. Now most SM songs are experimental and I down for it 😗

Tell me why when this was released back then I loved it - like i never found it off putting or thought about the different sound mixes. To me this was the definition of KPOP.

We need to accept the fact that they are the top group in 2nd generation of kpop, not just in girl group but in the whole kpop. Popularity, Views, Awards, and Western activities. They are Girls'Generation the Nation's Girl Group of South korea with 414 total awards not including China's and Japan's awards.

I'm expecting some comment about their vocals and harmony but nah SM known to make their groups sing the chorus together and (for me) snsd and red velvet sound the best when they sing together, it's like as if they create another voice when they sing together and the fact all of their vocal were totally different, it's magical for me

Fun fact: The MV for Girls Generation's "I Got A Boy" was produced by Zanybros the same company that is now representing the new Kpop soloist AleXa. In 2013 this video topped the charts and it beat American MVs by Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, etc. for video of the year at the RU-vid video awards. SNSD are queens for a reason. :D This was the era when Kpop songs were created to give an equal amount of lines to every member. So, because SNSD has 9 members this song is longer than a lot of Kpop songs, which gives them time to do a lot of different things in the song. ;P Switching up the beat in Kpop songs is just kind of part of what makes Kpop unique. Case in point, in "I Got a Boy" Jessica literally says, "Lets bring it back to 1-40" which is a reference to switching up the tempo -- changing it from that slower ballad section and bringing the song back to the faster beat. "I Got a Boy" is structured the same way as BigBang's "Bang Bang Bang," but "Bang Bang Bang" came out in 2015, 2 years later. Girls Generation debuted in 2007 so this year is their 14th anniversary. As you have discovered, they are known as one of the most visually stunning girl groups with some of the best vocals and dancers in the industry. As an SM Entertainment group it is, once again, no surprise that they are such great singers and dancers. That is just what you should expect from SM Entertainment groups. :D As you may know, they are still an active group, however, Jessica Jung left the group in 2014. So they are now an 8 member group. Then, in 2017, 3 of the members left SM Entertainment -- Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Sohyun. But all 3 have said they have not left SNSD and would like to still collaborate with the group in the future. All 3 are now working on their solo career. SNSD's last comeback was as a sub-unit called Oh!GG which debuted in 2018 with the 5 members who are still with SM -- Taeyeon, Yoona, Yuri, Sunny and Hyoyeon. Personally I find I got a boy, red light, and zimzalabim a bit more cohesive than next level, but that’s my personal opinion. And I hope you can do a guide on snsd so you get to know the rest of them. I don’t Stan gg but hyoyeon and soo-young are my favs.
