While the beat is playful, the lyrics are sad, IU said in the show case of Chatshire that this song explain that there is always a reason why someone can turn depressed or angry cause at first they were always shining. I explained it briefly but you can react or watch it on your own it's on "one the k" channel. Plus in case you didnt know, IU changed the lyrics of Zion-t's rap during her love poem tour( right after Sulli passed away) I don't have the translation or lyrics but you should check out one of her performance of red queen during this tour concert, she rather seemed angry while doing the rap part, like she was talking to the haters...( this is just my interpretation)

IU revised the lyrics of Red Queen at 2 occasions, both heart-breaking if you kind of know what she's going through. IU has written lyrics of all the songs since the Chatshire album, so you can find lyrics that are connected to old songs or that feel like answering old songs in other songs. For example, you can hear the answers to the lyrics "Why are you angry over there?" and "Why are you using evil over there" in Unlucky, a song from 'Love poem' album. So I hope you'll react to Unlucky following this song.

I don’t think she said it directly that this song was about Sulli but she did say that she was inspired by Sulli’s drawing (I think that drawing was included in the Chatshire album photobook if I’m not mistaken). Even if she didn’t really say it herself they say its pretty obvious who she’s talking about. She even changed the lyrics to a “darker” one when she performed this song during her Love Poem Concert tour (around Year-end 2019)

This is not a song about Sulli, but IU was inspired by a drawing she saw at Sulli's house. It has a message that even people who are considered to be mad or cold-hearted now would not have been like that from the beginning, but might have changed after going through hard times. It is also a kind of satire about people who evaluate and hate others without knowing a lot about them🙂

I always love listening to this song because of the energetic melody. I know a lot of people say this song is about Sully, but I never really read the lyrics translation. This is the first time I'm hearing the song while reading the English lyrics. It hit me differently tho. And I have watched the concert version of this song where IU change the rap part to a darker one. And that rap part now seems even more dark when I know what the song is about. Try to watch the Love Poem Concert version of Red Queen, Aaron. Especially the rap part.

The Sulli hate actually started in 2013 when she was busy with her Dramas that she missed some of her f(x) group's schedules, knetz started calling her "Lazy". And her dating news in 2014 is what made the hate got 10x bigger, she got tons of rumors like "Sulli got pregnant". Her group was promoting their newest cb at that time but because she loved that group so much that she chose to take a break because she didn't want them to get hate. But we should also remember that Sulli was truly one of the bravest and strongest women who would always fight for women's rights, her beautiful voice and personality is what we should always keep in our mind

If you look at Alice in Wonderland which is what chatshire draws a lot of influence from. The red Queen was always hated. IU kind of comments on this and says this red Queen that you all hate so much is just misunderstood. That people have distorted a person who is so full of warmth into someone who is lifeless and hated. But from someone who knows the red Queen ( IU knew Sulli) she knows that the red Queen ( i.e Sulli) is so lovable and beautiful and warm.
