red velvet are very technical when it comes to them recording, perfectionist too. you can see how irene wanted to emulate the melody to the choreo steps, and her asking to change the 'yeah' was the best decision even though the prod was happy with it. most of the lines shown that felt different are background vocals and harmonies, which gave the song much more depth to its sound. them coming back again is after revision, to re-record some parts that they or the prod felt like it needs more takes. just like how seulgi came back and was in a better condition vocally as she explained. please do watch the other ones with wendy and seulgi.

ikr and also Yeri’s suggested some changements on her parts to sound better, even the prod team agrees with her. and you can truly see the difference of Seulgi’s voice the second day she’s feeling way better!

I appreciate SM who always utilize their idols' vocals to do the harmonizations and backing vocals themself even all the way back from 1st gen. most of kpop companies just edit their idols vocals for that, or use backing vocal singers for it.

not many do harmonies in kpop. red velvet is the group who does harmonies a lot. in power up “ba banana baba banana ba banana baba banana nana”, people said “oh what a meaningful lyrics” in a sarcastic way but what they didn’t knew is that part is layered so much with harmonies… check behind the scenes 😌

SM is so confident with their artists that they release their recording behind the scenes.... Pure talent... Even if they're not naturally talented,SM makes sure they're very talented to debut...That is what separates them from other groups/companies.... As for NCT,they release their recording behind the scenes for almost every song

The joke on Joy’s part was the fact that she was singing with too much power lol the female producer said “you can sing it slowly” as in, sing it with less power, and the male producer said “you must be feeling cool today”, implying that she was feeling herself and feeling particularly confident in her voice during that recording session.
