Neita, can you please make a video on tension? I just purchased the tension gauge and would like to know how to utilize it correctly. FYI: I felt confident in purchasing my Bai after watching your video when you first got yours -- thank you
Thank you for all these details But what about maintenance and warranty of the machine? How often does it need maintenance or check up and what does their warranty cover? They say they offer lifetime warranty and support. Can you tell us more about that? Thank you
Nice video! I have had my BAI 15 needle mirror for a year and a half and I love it! I have had zero issues with it to date. It sewed perfect right out of the crate. I have backed up stitches with mine with no issues, but I don't recall ever going back 500 stitches. I also haven't had any issues with any of the green hoops, but if I do, mighty hoops is my first replacement "wish" option. It's great seeing your business taking off! I look forward to watching your comparison video between the BAI and Ricoma.
I love my Bai. My only regret is that I purchased a 7 needle for more money that’s not industrial before I got the Bais .Just picked up my 2nd machine a couple months ago from their Atlanta warehouse and I’m so happy it’s paid for 🥰
Having a machine completely paid for is such a perk! During the slow months for my business, I couldn't imagine having to pay a monthly payment for a machine. I would have been so stressed!
Great video, great story. I'm thinking about buying a machine from Alibaba what company did you go with ? A lot of people are afraid of buying there please we need a video on that
Great video. I’ve been doing embroidery since about 2015, using a single needle Janome from the 90s. I want to do SO MUCH more bc I love it so much. Do you have any advice about how to use social media to build your business? I feel lost when it comes to posting items and building engagement.
My first embroidery machine was Brother dream machine 😊 there was not a lot video about it on RU-vid. I’ve learned everything all by myself. Then I got baby lock valiant 10 needle, heat press, Cricut, melco 16 needle and I figured out how to use them all by myself. Trial and error will tech you a lot :)
Neita... if you haven't heard yet Bai has a system update that includes the thread color save. Maybe that will help with that registration glitch. Just reach out to your rep or rep in the group.
Thank you for the video. How’s the stitch quality meaning standard or high definition. Not even sure if that’s a thing. Lol I’m thinking about getting a Bai
I really, really miss you and your husband, especially the videos you guys work putting out. Hopefully, you guys will come back and throw some more than good video on youtube.🎉🎉😅
I watched your unboxing video as well you mention that if purchase the BAI 1501 and mention to Steve your name I get some gifts is this still applicable I know its an old video
I love the videos so motivating!!! I totally understand what you said about working on a single needle machine helps, I am having so much trouble with my single needle, can't imagine having a multi needle one 😬😬😬😁😁😁😁!!! Thanks again for sharing your experience !!! What do you need to be able to sell fabric ?
Thank you so much for watching! For selling fabric, I got a resellers license and business license to be able to sell fabric. I had to do a lot of research and sampling of fabrics to find a good vendor
Each brand of machine may use different size brackets for the hoops so I usually like to call in to place an order so they can help you find the right fit. For the Bai it uses Tajima mighty hoops
Hi friend, 😊 just wondering do you have to buy a software separately to use the machine ?if you do,would you be able to show a video of how it works ? Thanks ❤
I was recently quoted $4450.00 for the Mirror 1501 If I did self pick up. I live in LA county and I know Bai's warehouse is in Rancho Cucamonga CA. Bai's agent told me by doing self pick up I would save about $7 to $8 hundred.
I love that you touched on the hate you recieved for purchasing a Chinese machine. Seems like everyone who has never owned a Bai machine is an aficionado of all Chinese machines. Yes Bai does have more than a few things that could be improved, but when you weigh it all together it's not as bad as people believe.
Hey Renita! Thanks for commenting and watching! You are so right! Bai is definitely not perfect but for the money and the price it was perfect for me and my business. I don't know where my business would be today if I never purchased the machine so I'm grateful I took a leap of faith and went for it.
@nojarai I've had mine 3 years with no regrets. I personally believe if you are willing to learn to use it, then this is a good buy. This is not a plug and play domestic machine like a Brother or Babylock, it is an industrial machine. So there is a learning curve and a different mindset.
@nojarai that depends on the person. My first machine is a Brother. Those file types save colors, and everything so you really don't have to think. Industrial machines as a whole do no do this you have to think about where each color goes. You have to think about how big your design is and which hoop you want to use. You have to think to troubleshoot tension changes. The maintenance isn't hard but it's not like a domestic machine where once it gets to a certain number you should take it in and drop it off for servicing. Industrial machines require you to oil moving parts with some regularity. When your machine needs major servicing you contact a mechanic who comes to the machine just like if your plumbing has an issue you Contact someone to come to your home to fix it. The regular maintenance hasn't been too difficult and I haven't had any major issues that I could not solve myself.
Thank you for sharing your journey. "Where there is a will there is a way". You and your hubbie made it happen. God bless you and your family as you continue to grow your business.💟
Someone mention in the comments that I may need to update the software on the machine and that should fix the issue. I'm going to reach out to my agent to see if that will help 🤞🤞
If you are doing appliqué and have the offset on it doesn’t do well trying to go back a lot of stitches or to another color. You can go back a few stitches if say a bobbin goes out or a thread breaks without issue but not too far
I saw on your applique videos, that the frame comes out automatically for cutting the fabric...which setting do you use for it? Would be nice, if you can tell me this...
I started to do embroidering with my handicapped daughter and want to purchase a BAI 1501 I SEARCHED ALOT it looked like the best value for my price range .
We are buying a house with a basement and I want to expand my business and I want to add an embroidery machine to my shop. So I was waiting for this video.
This is a fascinating story. I am in Germany and started on a sewing machine that had an attachment for embroidery. I was fascinated and moved onto a Brother 1-needle machine that I was able to pick up 2nd hand in perfect condition. Then I sold that and bought a 6-needle Brother (I still love that one and have it) and then I added a Melco Bravo - my Rolls Royce. It is amazing. The service and help is amazing too, at least here in Germany. I like the Melco also because the quality is outstanding and it is an American engineering project. Superb. You do not have tension problems with Melco.
Like with everything, there are a few. My experience is that it produces a terrific result mostly. If you intend to sew caps etc. with polyester thread, then it is unsurpassed and great. I work artistically and often use rayon thread. Those have a tendency not to respond well to the cutting process. The yarn goes under tension when being cut and then tends to slip out of the needle, not always but too often. I find the Brother better for thread cuts with rayon thread. Never have a problem with rayon slipping our of the needle or faulty thread cuts but the Brother has a smaller embroidery field and only 6 or 10 needles. You will never find the perfect machine. I am glad I kept both. Also, you need to make sure you can contact someone if anything goes wrong - a good mechanic is essential! Mine taught me a lot and I am still learning. All in all, I have found a niche that works perfectly for the Melco and does not work so well with the Brother, so I do my rayon florals on the Brother, and my finest antique-style lace with a super fine cotton thread on the Melco. I do not do caps, shoes, belts book marks etc. Hope that helps!@@nojarai
Yup, this helps a ton! Thank you very much. As in mechanic, you are not talking about the Melco service itself, but one from a nearby shop? I am deciding which multi needle to go for and am stuck, LOL It is very hard to come to a decision with the amount of embroidery machines that exist.
It really depends what you want to make! As far as quality is concerned, the Melco is superb - it used to be made entirely in the USA and the tooling of the parts are terrific. How many colors are you thinking of using - do yu need 16? Do you want to sell and if yes, what? Do you want to do your own digitizing and if yes, what? As far as mechanics are concerned, yes, it would help to have an expert within reasonable distance. And once he (she) is there, stay and look at what they do in order to learn. I made a couple of major booboos and the machine stopped immediately, before something really messed up. I do not regret buying the machine but it is a load of money! I do not do embroideries on order but design something and sell it in my online shop. Embroidering the same thing over and over would bore me to tears, but I do it half as an enjoyment, half for money. If you have specific questions, I am happy to give you my experience.@@nojarai
I run a small shop and am making some designs, I do use 16 colors, sometimes even more, because the different designs use a lot of different colors. As per digitizing, I have someone who does it for me, so technically I don't really need that part, but its a bonus if it comes with it. As per the price of the machine, I am thinking of purchasing it via the financing aspect, as it would be able to pay itself off over time. Sometimes, I do designs that are around 50-70k stitches, which is pretty much a PNG that has been digitized, and sometimes I do an outline which would not be as many stitches. That's why I was asking how would those come out with the machine. Do you think it would be a valid purchase for my business? @@Braisin-Raisin
We are in the need for another multi..have 10 needle babylock now..but we have steps it needs to go up to get to the studio space..so this was great info..just curious as to how easy the ricoma was to get set up also..this is the hard part..thanks for sharing.
Good watch, I'm currently trying to decide on Bai v Lejia, one thing I like is the Bai Facebook community for issues. I don't see Lejia much on RU-vid or Facebook, but I know someone who loves his Lejia machine and they have been in the embroidery business for 17 years. Guess I'll research a bit more.
@@nojarai I haven't yet, but I've decided to go a different route and buy here in the UK, it's looking like I'm going for a happy Japan, SWF or ZKS, but probably happy Japan.
Do you run a clothing business? I am asking because I started my embroidery business and I haven't made enough profits to get the Happy, so it would be made as a business expense through personal income. I do believe that I would be able to have it pay off eventually, but wanted some opinions on if you think it would be a good idea to go for the happy over the bai.@@ticmike
Yup mighty hoops are expensive but definitely makes life easier, Haha that's funny people try to hate on it coming from china all brands come from China everything is made in China or Japan people are crazy but glad to see you guys still shining and grinding 🤙🏼💯💯💯💯
Im really enjoying your videos, thank you so much. We are ordering our BAI V22 in 2 days!! You mentioned switching out the springs for the Tajima springs. Do you have any idea what i look for or where to buy those? I am in Canada and use Amazon alot. Thanks again
Great video! I want a second machine but haven’t decided which one. I do have a question, you bought a third machine but not a Bia, why did you change brands?
I'm taking a break from selling fabric because I'm running out of room in my house 😭😭 once we move our setup to the garage I will be selling fabric again
Going back without the issue your having which should not happen. It's weird. On the Tajima there is the control where you can go FF forward or FB Back. Under that is where you can dial the knob to go back or forward to a color. Under that is where you can dial how many stitches you want to go back. Pick the one you want and enter and the machine goes to that more smoothly. I bet you have it. I'm not where. Going back manually make the machine jump especially when you are doing satin stitches. I've been embroidering for 4 years at a logo shop. If you need any understanding, I might can help.
im now just seeing this video but I had the same issue with the alignment. it would happen when I would do appliqué and I was at a stop. I "worked" around it by pressing start and waiting for it to start sticking the next color then stopping it. I would then go back or forward my stitches. I hope it makes sense. I'm also in the bai fb group and can chat if you need further explanation!
The RevHon and QHM have the same RU-vid videos for instruction. I am not successful with the green hoops but am afraid the mighty hoops won’t fit and are non refundable😔
i pick up my vision v22 tomorrow at the Houston, TX warehouse. I have a pick up truck. I am wondering how many men it will take to carry the machine into the house. 617lbs!
Yes it is still very good and runs great. There is daily maintenance, monthly, and yearly maintenance that needs to be done to the machines but is fairly easy to do. For the price, quality is amazing
Thank you for this! I've been pricing machines for a while and figured that it was not in the cards for me but the BAI is a great option. What model(s) do you have? BAI should give you a commission:)
