Absolutely! I don't even want to imagine a world without this crazy, brilliant show in it. It's one of those things that makes the world better just by existing 😄
The orb is a cold fusion device that draws energy from time itself, though, more specifically from the energy generated by naturally occurring temporal anomalies.
I first heard about Briscoe from the top 10 Bruce Campbell characters video. That Christmas I asked for the dvd set and to this day I rewatch it every year. One of the best shows ever made
Mine was the Hercules and Xena TV shows were he plays autoclyes the king of thieves also army of darkness was similar to those two shows then again they were from the same people
Pete was also one of the final villains on Burn Notice. Huge loss, that there was never a moment, even for the gag reel, where Sam Axe touches his weapon.
This show was one of the highlights of my childhood. We were lucky to get even one season of this crazy masterpiece, even though there definitively should have been more. Dixie was as iconic as Scully and Xena to me as 90s female TV rolemodels. Truly a character they would only have come up with for one episode, but she was so shameless and likeable that you couldn't help but admire her 😂
It did help that this series filled the hole that was left by that other Sci-Fi Western, The Wild Wild West! A True Classic! I think these series' were the actual beginnings of "SteamPunk."
The first time I ever heard of Bruce Campbell was when I saw The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Of course that introduced me to Billy Drago as well. Charmed for Billy Drago as the Demon of Fear (of Hope in one episode) Xena: Warrior Princess as King of Thieves. Or Ash with his chainsaw. Billy Drago Tremors IV. Supposedly Drago has a Good Guy in 1 episode of Outer Limits. Brisco County and Border Town are the only 2 Westerns I like. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was Amazing.
Sadly Billy Drago passed away too some time ago. He was great in this series, I found him creepy when I watched this as a kid. Now I understand how talented actor he was!
A perfect Sci-FI/Western miniseries with a definitive ending. If you haven't seen it, just know Pete is the MVP of the show from a comedic standpoint. From ruthless villain to finally finding a gang with Brisco and the others was one of the most satisfying face-turns I've seen. Counting the amount of times Pete is apparently killed, only to reappear later is worth the watch, alone, lol. They might've jumped the shark with Aaron, the Elvis Sheriff, though. While funnier than you might expect, and he is, the character just didn't seem to fit. "Pete, I thought you died after the thing with the ninjas." - Brisco "Well, Brisco, that's the thing about Chinese death stars, half hour later, you're alive again." - Pete. 😅
One of the best westerns ever on TV, shame on Fox for not giving it atleast another season, Bruce Campbell was hot and gone too soon Julius Carry as Lord Bowler..
I think it's adorable how EVERYTHING in the 90's had to have some tie-in to UFO's and aliens. Even farming games would have a random UFO fly over as a easter egg.
To be fair, 10.4M viewers is actually pretty damn good. I think the main problem is the viewership was dropping, on top of the fact that Brisco was probably a relatively expensive show to produce. If it had climbed to maybe 12 to 15 million viewers, they probably would at least tried for one more season.
I have two cats well, my wife has two cats but I got to name them. One is name is Colonel Casey (from Chuck). The other Brisco Kitty Jr. I still have a hard copy box set of BCJ.
My late childhood..just after discovered Evil dead..that was on tv. A great tv show, like The young Indiana Jones, both showed real non common stuff, like the condition of chinese, slavery in nord africa, revolution scam (with chicken thieves) and more.
I love this show so much. Just about every clip you used, when it ended, I said the next line. I may be showing this to someone soon. I hope they love it, too. And I did try to show it to someone but they did not find it interesting.
I really like how the show uses Lord Bowler and Socrates Pool to pull out different aspects of Brisco's character: when you want Brisco to seem cool and tough, pair him with Socrates, and when you want him to seem smart and creative, pair him with Bowler
Loved this. Had the privilege of being able to ask Bruce about it at a book signing. The supporting characters were amazing and loved how they reoccurred favourites. Also completely agree with you on the love interest, felt wrong if it wasn't Dixie. Fantastic chemistry.
I only just discovered this show. I was on a Bruce binge on the ..cough, totally legal streaming service I watch, showed it as suggested. My all time favourite shows are Eureka and Psych. This show now takes place on that list. Like those two shows, this one feels wholesome and fun but still manages to make you think and has morals. I am so sick of this new trend to have everyone a dirtbag and swearing and antagonistic towards each other and this focus on sex and degeneracy. Dark and gritty isn't fun when everything is. In my opinion, this is Campbells greatest role. He has a lot more range than people think because they think of him only as that Evil Dead guy... or Moontrap.
Even though it was never meant to be a series finale, the final scene of Brisco and Bowler riding off into the sunset after saving the day did provide closure and was the perfect way to end the show. Most shows that get cancelled usually end things on a cliffhanger with no means to tie up whatever loose ends remain. Even though we don't get to witness them ourselves, as Brisco and Bowler ride off into the sunset, we can only imagine them along with Socrates, Wickwire, Dixie, etc. going on many more adventures together.
