I adore the design of that blaster, it's so clean. That being said, I hope they come out with a semi-auto version of it. Full auto is cool but with such a high fire rate and the limited capacity of angled talons, it has limited usage.
@@O4kl4nd that's what I did with mine. Added a boat rocker switch to the bottom of the foregrip, and its select fire. Semi is more practical, and you can shoot pretty fast with semi alone, but sometimes it's fun to switch it over and rip through a mag when someone rushes.
My local Nerf group actually has a class system, where each class is different, with pros and cons to each. I like to play the heavy, because I'm allowed full-auto, unlimited ammo and mags, and I'm 2 hits to kill. The cons to that class, are that it takes 15 seconds for a medic to revive me instead of 10 (The way reviving works is that once you're killed, you put a fist in the air, and start counting down from 20. If a friendly medic can get to you before you get to zero (countdown pauses when they're reviving) you're back in the game. If not, you're out.), I'm not allowed to run, only jog, and I'm only allowed a small shield, so I can't use a giant tower shield like a shieldman/shieldmaiden or medic can.
It may be stupid fast, but the bursts are too inconsistent. If you look the full auto burst, theres points where the blasters firing, but nothings coming out. Even during the burst fire run, there was a few darts just farting out the barrel. Sorry, but this is a pass. I want darts to come out when i hit the trigger.
Yeah, the fire rate is so high that it's really sensistive to dart stiffness. With new darts or lightly used darts, it works great. However, with darts where the foam's structural integrity is comprimised, then the solenoid just bashes them when trying to get them into the wheels.
@@ansuzalgiz yes, that was my thought and experience as well every hiccup was an old squishy dart. I love mine. I think you did a good job. There are some tweaks I would make to the flywheel cover to make it more printer friendly, and I had to lube my trigger, and ream out the holes in switchs a bit for the pins, but those were my only gripes. I've built a lot of blasters, and yours didn't frustrate me at all, compared to say the YEHW, which frustrates me to no end, or wiring a select fire woozi.
honestly, what he did to make a solenoid full auto without a board is pretty genius. I think a external switch to bypass the internal switch would allow this to become selectfire.
Yes, it is. I've done it. It's a very simple mod. The hardest part was finding a place to mount said switch without significantly modifying the files. And that is at the bottom of the foregrip battery tray
Someone has already modded it to take banned blaster wheels, and modding it for select fire is super easy. It's a few extra wires, and a 3 position switch.
Battery compartment to me is still a little awkward. I just might be used to the gryphon battery stock or ump grip battery holder tho too, but still a great looking blaster
This is a nice looking blaster it really is excuse me sir I have a question for you are you going to be doing anything with the game face trion like maybe new grips and stuff like that maybe I would really appreciate it if you would look into it because I'd rather buy from you then a lot of people LOL
Noice! My only gripe is those side rails are largely useless to me. Especially given there's no rails near the front, I'm gonna want at least a way to mount a Mighty Momma. However, that doesn't look possible given that the flywheels are in the way.
If you use a quick mount adapter, it raises it off the rail a bit. I don't have a mighty momma to test, but have a crooked cousin on a quick mount that has plenty of clearance with a mega barrel. Might fit a mega xl, but it would be close if It fit. But if you have a proud pappa, it would work. But without some sort of rail riser, ya largely cosmetic.
The cost to build one yourself just in parts isn't exactly cheap. Roughly 250 dollars for parts and materials and files. Then you figure in print time, and assembly labor. I don't think 375 dollars is unreasonable price.
I love Drac but that's insane. Especially when we have options like a lepus that is significantly cheaper. That's insane fast fire rate the doesn't "out shoot the mag." I'm pretty sure it's a faster fire rate also. Interesting huh?
@@rongarrison3246 I'd blame outshooting the mag on the jank used harmonica community bin darts he appeared to be shooting. The only time mine hiccups is when it hits an old worn squishy dart from our community bin. When I load mine with fresh darts it zips through it no problem. Yes, the lepus is cheaper, and a great platform, and if your on a budget it's great, but nothing compares to the feeling of a solenoid pusher. The tactile feedback is just so fun.
note Drac did not set the price it's not his blaster... I built a Hummingbird Gen2 myself and dart quality does make a difference, the worker gen3+ darts would perform way better than the darts used in the video. When playing this past weekend I primarily shoot burst (it's nearly impossible to shoot anything less than 3 with a single trigger pull) and didn't have many issues and that was with a shared dart pool... Also in my experience with Angled Talons the way that you load them can impact how well they feed independent of blaster. I had feeding issues on other blasters until it was recommended to load them front to back and this solved the issues I was seeing. Also nothing wrong with the Lepus but the quality of this design (plus the Magpul hardware which included in that price tag) is MUCH higher than a Lepus
