I love Guilty Gear's themes because to me they always feel like the character itself is singing. I don't really know if it's intended (in some cases like Happy Chaos for sure but I can't tell if it's always like that), but I can even listen to Mirror of the World and be like "yeah it's Baiken singin' this, can't be anyone else" And then I look up Naoki and he looks like the chillest guy around??? Huh?????

You're right about The Town Inside Me taking forever to build up. I really like the song, but I rate songs based on how much of a gym headbanger they are, which TTIM isn't at all, so it's bottom tier for me as well.
@@MeatGolf2 it's a subgenre of metal with very heavy guitars (usually 7 strings) and those type of screaming vocals that utilize false chords. Basically like the song you showcased when talking about elphelt's theme
i can typically forgive actually facing a character if the theme is good. I hate fighting potemkin (especially in xx) but i always turn the volume up when his theme is playing
Honestly i always judge a tier list of the ost by where The town inside me is placed. Cause by itself it might be one of the top 5 worst songs compared to the rest of the ost. But characterwise it hits a lot. And also the gravity is probably my favorite of the game. But man the kiss of death is super underrated. Honestly one of the only songs in the game i feel could be on an actual album and not be tied to a character.
