Hi Everyone! This was a fun video, mostly because we didn't know what we would find when we opened the hives. We _kind of_ expected the top brood boxes to be nearly bursting to capacity, so we had the honey supers ready to go, but we also wondered that since it is such a new hive, would we be ambitious thinking the bees would already have both brood boxes filled out? Well...we were kind of surprised on both accounts in some regards. Also, I'm finding it is a lot of fun to document the new beekeeping process we're getting ourselves into. I realize that there are a LOT of very experienced folks out there and we're hopeful to continue learning from you all. Right now, we're already thinking of expanding by 2-4 additional hives next spring or maybe the possibility of expanding sometime this year if a caught swarm needs a new home.
