This made me tear up. Just how every parent should be. My heart hurts for those who suffer. As a mother of four boys I prepared myself for the possibility that one may be gay and tried to think of ways to support them. This was before westerners had access to the BL genre and the only gay productions focused on the emotional scars, lust, and self hatred. So glad to see positive examples of sincere love available to the LGBTQ community. You ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE HURT for who you love! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I came out to my parents when I was 30. It took me 8 years from the point when I finally worked this out for myself (in 1982). In the mean time I had to negotiate my anxiety around the aids crisis, which effectively meant going back in the closet. The fundamental issue for me then was the same that all gay men have to face: the anxiety that you will be rejected by your parents and family if you come out. In gay awareness terms, the UK now is light years ahead of where it was in the 80s. It was closer then to where many countries in the east are now and watching this felt weirdly nostalgic. I cried all the way through it.
