Everyone feels songs differently. For me this song represents that couple that's meant to be together but they try to go their own way and fate brings them back together. it makes them stronger than ever before.
Everyone is talking about there boyfriends or girlfriends and I'm like, this reminds me so much of my friends. And how is never make it out of half the shit if they weren't there for a shoulder I needed, and when I needed a smile. I love my friends, and I know for sure that they will always be with me.

This song makes me think about that first really powerful love where you literally couldn't stay away. The love where you never would expect to need this person the way you do but you do. That love where you are in danger of losing yourself completely but you go through with it anyway because it's something that amazing you can't stay away. And in that love you help each other find themselves and you save them from their own insecurities. But the same love that just can't last forever. Where for a number of reasons you have to split but you never hate each other. You love all the same and you're happy to have shared such a thing with each other even though it wasn't meant to be.

@@kloxzp thx. I found this song just as I was debating on breaking up with my ex. It basically resonated with me and I listened to it for about a month before I commented. It just felt so loving yet sad and happy all at once and that's basically how I felt about him.

We are both metal heads (but I like all genres, just really a fan of metallica) Anyway, I think it’s important for me to mention the fact that my boyfriend isn’t really the expressive / emotional type. Yeah Ik how it feels I broke up with my gf on Friday because she was happy that we were on break and that she could spend time more time with some other guy. Luckily a friend of mine told me because she was at a party with my ex and her friends. She was actually happy I broke up with her. My ex and I were together for a year and a month but she basically was about to cheat on me so I had to breakup with her so I wouldn’t become more heartbroken.
Oh I didn't really expect anybody to notice this comment. I guess my situation isn't that bad compared to some of yours but it still hurts like hell. She was the first person I've ever dated and i got really attached and i still feel like i love her. Some time ago she confessed that she stopped really feeling what she felt before and she could't be in a relationship with me anymore. I couldn't blame her bcs it happens I guess. But yeah i felt like the world was ending and i never felt so bad physically and emotionally. We thanked each other for all the good things and apologized for all the bad things. Later she said that I still mean a world to her and she felt terrible lying to me like that but she really wants to be close to me and to still be friends if I let her. She said that the thing she feared the most was that I would just leave her and be mad and don't talk to her and actually that was my greatest fear in this situation too. So yeah we're still friends which is actually helping me a lot. Of course I relationship changed but I feel safe knowing that she's still here and I didn't lose her completely. I just have to accept how it is I guess. Oh yeah it's not that relevant to my story maybe but I'm a girl too. And yeah it's just really painful to realize that somebody just stops loving you over time.
Two years ago my life kinda fell apart, and this song makes me really miss the way things used to be. When I hear this song all the memories from before two years just play in my head. As I get older I realize that things are always changing and nothing lasts forever. I just wish there was a way to tell we were in the good times before they were over.

You guys are my saving grace. My mentor introduced me to you guys. You were his favorite band. He saved my life. And he died, in 2017. I wish he was alive to hear this beautiful song. It just hits different, he’s missing so much and died so young.
My interpretation: song starts in the past, then moves to the present. Past: He’s saying that they can’t be together anymore “that silly ring, it wasn’t meant to be” Present: “luckily you saw in me something I couldn’t see” he’s saying that he was wrong about ending it, or just wrong about how he couldn’t commit to the relationship. Then he goes on, praises her ways “I can’t imagine how my life would be if all your gravity did not hit me” he’s telling her he loves her. She comes into the chorus and says “but here we are after all the messes and confessions” which could mean that they’ve worked through their issues, she gave their love a chance. She continues to stay she would never forgive herself if she left him, knowing that he was in the wrong about each other. That’s why he’s the only one for her. It’s almost as if she saw through his mistake, loves him so much and that’s why she stuck around. And then he agrees, “such a fool, I took your love and bent all the rules, you took the blow and didn’t let it show, stuck around to let me know” then he continues to say that they made it work. He goes on to say that when he struggles, she’s there for him. Then in the part of the second chorus of “won’t you decide…” it’s almost as if we get a glimpse of what their exchange was when they were working things out. Again, just one potential interpretation of this amazing song!

This hits hard. I went through a really abusive relationship a few years back. It took me almost dying by his hands for me to walk away. Fast forward past him stalking me and I have been in a relationship for 2 years with the love of my life. He helped me learn how to love again and our life hasnt been perfect but I wouldn’t change anything in the world to be where I am today with him.
My late partner used to sing this to me and our baby. We we're going to name our next child heaven honey bee but we never had another one before he passed.
